Bluepaw looked at Snowleap. He knew he was playing around. "I want my warrior name to be either Bluefang, Bluewing, or Blueheart." ➢ The RiverClan tomcat nodded to Bluepaw’s proud words. “Ah, then I’ll have to pass those along to Skystar when you are to become a warrior.” He remarked with a purr of his own, eyeing the white-furred apprentice as he buried the second mole in another spot. Snowleap simply nodded, glad that the youth was still willing to catch more prey. RiverClan would be very pleased with how much food they’d all have.

Bluepaw ran off in search of more prey. He spotted a fish in very shallow waters of the river. Maybe I can get it...? He leaped into the shallow waters and pressed his claws on the fish, but it was too slippery and swam away. The white furred tomcat bit back a hiss and snuck up on a mouse once again, this time was able to catch it.

Snowleap had yet to teach Bluepaw how to fish, so it was a bold choice of action, but it intrigued him. Moving on, the white-furred clanmate soon caught a mouse to go along with his two moles. “Amazing,” The tall RiverClan deputy exclaimed, “How are you feeling about your abilities as a hunter?” Snowleap's long whiskers twitched as he spoke.

➢ The RiverClan deputy shouldn’t have been surprised to be met with that answer, knowing his sour apprentice, but it still confused him and he decided to press the matter further. “And why is that?” Snowleap asked, following the white-furred tomcat as he buried his catch, “You’ve caught three pieces of prey. Sure, you’ve made a few mistakes here and there, but everyone does that!” The tall oriental longhair gave a low sigh and shook his head. “You know, the last time I tried to catch ground prey was when I was still a young warrior. A squirrel bit me and I got yelled at by Snakeheart for being an absolute buffoon.” Snowleap lifted his left paw and showed off the scar from the bite where there was no fur. That had been many moons ago, back when Reedlight was still around. Where did that tom ever end up?

Remember that.” Snowleap rested his tail on his apprentice’s shoulder in a comforting manner. “Well, if you want, we can gather up all the prey you have hunted today and resume training tomorrow. Or we could start up another lesson.”

Snowleap was going to suggest they come to get them after this other lesson was done and they were headed home for the day, but this would work too. Maybe it would be better if the prey was put back in camp as soon as possible anyway so RiverClan cats can partake in the white-furred apprentice’s prey. “How’s your jaw feeling, by the way?” He asked, casually. Such injuries like that never fully heal and Snowleap knew it would effect the youth for the rest of his life.

Bluepaw got the prey and went back to Snowleap. "My jaw doesn't hurt that much anymore. It's still crooked, but I'm used to it. But I'll never forgive that ThunderClan apprentice for what they did to me!" The white furred tomcat hissed, lifting his head at his mentor. "Endurance? Huh?" Bluepaw was confused.
