Re: October Gathering
Salmonshade felt... awkward. She didn't really like to talk to anyone out of shadowclan. She was here last gathering, but no one spoke to her. Cherrywood wasn't there last time. She looked around hoping to find her sister. Her eyes suddenly landed on her. She silently crept over. "Hey." @seeingstars

Hemlockleaf almost...winced. He felt bad for being hard on her...this time anyway. Magpiepaw would want me to...try harder. He sighed, looking down at his paws. "I'm...sorry." He mumbled, still staring at his paws. "I guess...I was just giving you a hard time." The dark brown tom grumpily shuffled his paws, he didn't like this. But he hoped, tonight with StarClan watching, that in doing this he would make Magpiepaw happy.

He apologized? She was taken aback."Oh... It's not that big of a deal deal. Had she been judging him to harshly? It made her feel awkward. Was she the jerk face?"I guess I was a little harsh too."Is this my chance to apologize for that night? She opened her mouth to speak but the words didn't come out. Why can't I say it?"Umm... Well I guess I'll go now."What no that's not what I wanted to say?! Why is this so difficult. She took a step back and turned away. As she started to pad away she stole a quick glance of him over her shoulder

Spiderthroat wove through the crowd as he snipped at the lingering felines. Taking up the rear to ensure no brats managed to sneak their way into the gathering this time around. Keeping a diligent eye on the bushes and any little kitten hiding holes.
Once he was positive the coast was Clear he wrangled the lingering ThunderClanners into the clearing. If he had to be there and slowly drain his social battery, so did they. Slinking his way through the crowd until he'd reached the spot where new faces perched. Ah. So it looked like RiverClan was burning through leaders again.
A sneer as Spiderthroat made eye contact with the newest RiverClan deputy. "Another one to replace the so called Leader once they drown themselves realizin 'man, this is hard bein responsible' . I'll see you in her spot next gathering I'm assumin." he hummed. Turning over his shoulder to see the brat who'd decided to get quip with him last gathering.

Well, she'd be lying if she were to say she hadn't been expecting that one. And who better to deliver the oversung words than Spiderthroat himself? The deputy looked back at him, her expression mostly neutral. She had no words to counter that, because he was right. For as long as she could remember, Riverclan constantly burned through leaders and deputy's faster than dry bark on a hot afternoon, continuous and hungry. How does one every stop a forest fire? But, that didn't mean that Owltalon would entertain his quip either. While she had nothing new to say since she agreed with him, she truly felt that change was coming for them, chasing at them like the moon chases the sun.
While it's always impossible to know for sure, Stormstar was pretty devoted, now Owltalon just had to do her part. If anyone had to break the cycle, it had to be them. Not maybe, not hopefully. No, it had to be them. Riverclan was in too much of a vulnerable state to except anything else. Plus, there was no point getting into an argument over nothing, she wanted to enjoy this. Even if it was growing to be stupidly cold and icy. Her amber eyes turned away from the Thunderclan deputy and back to the crowd, but she kept her ears perked just encase she missed anything of importance.
Speaking of importance... It seemed that Cobwebfern had a nerve hit. There was something, a commotion, going on where the medicine cats gathered, and Owltalon couldn't help but glance over there. It would've been funny if it was so horribly wrong. Two cats who used to work together found themselves on the same social ground. But, one of them left Riverclan with a temper tantrum. Honestly, Owltalon didn't care much for Rookfire or what he did, and she wouldn't of cared if he left Riverclan, but only without the dramatics. He had to throw a pity party, didn't he? Ran in a similar fashion to Fadingstar now that she thought about it. But what did it matter? At least he'd gotten what he wanted, unless he started striving for leader or something.
The situation calmed down eventually. Oh, and Rookfire was beefing with a child. Fun. Stars, didn't she have better things to focus on? Her swerved her ears back towards the crowd, sitting up a bit straighter as she began to wonder when the other clans would start their announcements or would they leave more room for conversation? Well, Owltalon was in no hurry.

Hemlockleaf blinked in appreciation at Blueberrybird’s shared apology, but then felt frustration swell through his pelt. And yet, there was a tiny part of him that wished she’d stick around. When she looked over her shoulder at him, all the dark brown tom could do was wave his tail in farewell and watch her continue off. At least they finished their conversation without yelling at each other this time. But the ShadowClan warrior couldn’t help feeling frustration rising in the air next to him, like another presence…
The long-furred white tom let out a signature boisterous laugh. He looked at Sneezepaw with enthusiasm, a sparkle in his dark amber eyes. “This is your night kid!” He purred. “Feel free to mingle with the other apprentices. You don’t have to stick around this ole timer.” He told him with a laugh. “But! Do be careful not to reveal anything about WindClan to the other clans, okay? If some cat asks you a question and you’re not sure if you can answer them, then don’t. That’s very important.” He added, leaning forward and lowering his voice to ensure his apprentice would pay attention to the seriousness in his tone.
“Now, off with ya! Have fun!” He purred, butting his head against Sneezepaw’s shoulder encouragingly.

➢ Hollowpaw had trailed after Hawkbite, lor at the very least she tried too. They had lost him in the flurry of Clanmates and had zero true idea if he had even attended this Gathering. Nervousness, shamefully, crept up her pelt as she followed their Leader, aiming to fixate on something different like the terrible feeling as the ground shifted to sand. 'Blegh. This is going to stay in my fur for moons.' They mentally stick out her tongue in response. Hollowpaw finds the night sky to be more appealing, breaking off from the different ranks of Shadowclan when the time came. They found herself drifting through the crowd at a swift pace, eager to drain the place of any hope that their siblings may be here under other Clans.
Their search came up with nothing, they were frustrated, claws sinking into the sand as a scowl remains on her feature. Keeping up the quick pace through the groups of Warriors and Apprentices with ease......until they didn't. Hollowpaw fails to calculate the turn properly, hitting a Warrior of unfamiliar scent. 'For Starclan's sake. Now you have to give them a half-assed apology, nice one Hollow!' She waits for the scarred cat to turn around, the jagged look of them sparking a hidden wonder in the Apprentice.
Risingstorm limped behind his clan staying in the back due to personal choice he had remembered going to his first gathering as Fallingpaw now look where he was an hornet of Thunderclan, tsk he hardly even believed it or even thought he deserved it he was a screw up as an apprentice so how in Starclan did he even reach this? rising thought stepping fully into sea stones.
Ahh looked like riverclan had a new leader and deputy who would have guessed ? he though with a small chuckle. It wasn't new nor was it surprising to see he wondered if the new deputy would be leader next gathering ehh as if he cared. Rising parted off away from his clan to find a place to sit and hear the announcements. As risingstorm sat he perked his torn ears towards the leaders paying little attention to the cats around him till a voice caught his attention.
Risings head turned his head to the she cat ... riverclan he nodded his head " Uhh sure. he meowed shifting his body slightly, it was best to make conversation right? he thought " My names risingstorm, thunderclan he introduced himself

Starlingcall wanders into the gathering, paying no mind to those around it. Its pelt is fluffed up more than usual against the cold, but their face nor body makes no indication of them being uncomfortable. They make their way through the crowd of ShadowClan, eventually sitting near Hawkpaw obsessively cleaning her pelt.
"There's no need to get cleaned up for a gathering," Starlingcall meows, its green eyes lazily focused on the gathered leaders. "Hawkpaw, is it?"

She was running a little behind. Lightningstorm was aware of this much. But frankly, between the insufferably colder days they had been getting - she didn't mean to argue with nature, but any season outside of greenleaf was welcome to bite her - and the restless bouts of sleep she had been plagued with the past few days, she was far too exhausted and generally cranky to be arsed to make it in time. A bitter, cold gust sweeping through her short, sleek fur, the medicine cat shuddered, allowing a mock angry look land to on Rabbitpaw for a moment, clearly envious of his much thicker coat right about now. Knowing there was precious little to do about it, however, she padded forward, eager to join the medicine cats and get this gathering over and done with until she looked at her fellow herbalists already gathered up. Bickering like a group of kittens.
As she debated her options on what to do, Dusklion began speaking, and the medic's attention was gratefully taken away from the squabbling healers and up to the leader's perch. Curiosity clear as her eyes glinted upon landing on the deputy, she twitched her tail, hanging on to the feline's every word, her maw breaking into a mischievous grin as the deputy announced her new name and cemented her place as RiverClan's new leader. Making a note to tease her about the name choice at some other time - potentially one with less diplomatic issues - she couldn't help but huff in mild approval. The lithe calico hadn't liked the previous RiverClan leader. Every word out of that tom's mouth had been a lie. A falsehood. It almost made her wonder why he even bothered coming around, especially when anything of value they managed to learn from the water happy clan had come from the deputy's mouth instead.
Lightningstorm would have to grant him one thing, she supposed. He had most certainly lived up to his name and faded the bloody hell away. Short of being remembered as the RiverClan leader that had led his clan to an exile by conveniently pissing off all three of the other clans at the same time would probably be the only thing anyone would ever remember about him. Which... fair. The WindClan herbalist doubted there had ever been a more peaceful time in the forest than during Fadingstar's reign. Ironic how things sometimes simply worked that way.
Turning back to the medic's perch, somewhat reinvigorated to join the proceedings now that there had at least been a modicum of good news, the Abyssinian mix could feel her eye tick at the sight that met her. She had no idea who these new cats that were evidently more warrior than medicine cat were - judging by their clear inability to keep the peace even during a bloody truce - but she'd had about enough. There was absolutely no way she was joining in that chaos. If they wanted to battle it out and make a spectacle of themselves in front of everyone in the gathering? Fine. Be her guest. She would not be a part of it.
Instead, she motioned with her head for Rabbitpaw to follow her. She had no intention of leaving him to the wolves all alone up there. If she wasn't about to join them today, there was no way she was abandoning her apprentice to deal with that situation either. Lightningstorm might be uncomfortably cold, but surely there were better ways to warm up than sitting in the midst of a heated discussion? Such as... say... Twilightstar's idea of using Crowtooth for warmth. Honestly, the tom was such a bag of hot air anyways. Might as well join in with the rest of the WindClanners. She doubted they would question her, and she was sure Rabbitpaw would be happy to sit besides Crowtooth for the gathering. The tom was definitely much more fond of the deputy than he would ever be of her.
"Evenin', loves," she purred as she settled besides Crowtooth, closing in to his side in an attempt to steal some of that warmth while offering a cheeky smile to the other deputies surrounding them.
"Heard this was the place to be for all of the forest's prettiest felines... present company excluded, of course," Lightningstorm teased, turning her gaze pointedly upon Crowtooth as she spoke, whiskers twitching with amusement before her expression turned mildly apologetic upon continuing. "Hope you don't mind."
