He say down he was bitter with anger and tears he hatted this he hatted Bumblestar
he sat in the far corner in the shadows where he cried he didn't want to be falling kit he didn't deserve it he fought he trained he did all sorts of things to prove him self but he stupidly went out of camp and this is where he is now. he wrapped his head in his paws
Riversong looked around the camp. It looked like they'd spoken to all the other new apprentices... now the only one left was 'Morningkit.' Taking a quick jog around the perimeters, Riversong finally spotted Morningpaw in the nursery, getting a head start on apprentice duties, they assumed. They cleared their throat. It had been some time since Riversong had spoken. "Congrats Morningpaw..." they rasp-mewed. "You'll make..." their voice faded lightly. "a good apprentice."

Morningpaw. He lifted his head from his paws where he was laying in his nest. Morningpaw’s green eyes turned to who spoke to him and the polite but strained smile on his muzzle dropped into an expression of displeasure when he saw who it was. Riversong. His ‘mentor’ the apprentice almost sneered in his head after listening to the warrior’s words. He might’ve believed the warrior if it weren’t for setting Morningpaw up at his own apprentice ceremony. He only got one of those and it was ruined by someone who hasn’t even apologized or even acknowledged what he did. The warrior didn’t know that Morningpaw spent the night tossing and turning while crying. His dreams were not the escape that Morningpaw wanted. He turned his head away, not bothering giving Riversong the respect of talking face to face.
@Dolomedes (this is formatted weirdly, lmk if you need help understanding )
Riversong tilted their head in surprise. "What's this gotta do," they paused, clearing their throat, "with me?" They hadn't had an apprentice in a while or had they?, and they clearly weren't responsible enough to take after one but why did an apprentice feel so familiar?, so surely Bumblestar wouldn't have assigned them a new kit like last time?. Confused by the inner questions, Riversong shook their pelt out and waited for a response.

At the warrior's words, Morningpaw felt anger. True, geniune anger at the other feline and he whipped around to face him. Standing to his paws as his tail lashed. "What you have to do with this? Are you serious? Do you not want me so much that you just plain forgot?" Then the kit trailed off and turned around again, plopping back down into his nest because obviously he wasn't going to be doing anything else after this. Maybe he should go find Bumblestar to get a new mentor who actually bothered to remember him or still cared about him. But what would that do, maybe she would just tell him to wait until he is actually an apprentice, not a kit pretending to be. He sighed, sad.
He could tell that the warrior hadn't left yet, there were no noises suggesting that he did but what were they waiting for. For Morningpaw to spell it out for them, that Riversong abandoned him at one of the most important parts of his life so far. The warrior was dead wrong if they were waiting for that because Morningpaw wasn't going to give it.
"Wait, what... happened at the meeting yesterday? Did I... insult your littermates or something?" Riversong asked, taking pauses every couple of raspy words. "No, I couldn't... have. I left before any... cat could talk to me... So what do you want? I didn't... forget anything." If they were being honest, Riversong hadn't been having the best of days recently. With nightmares of something and endless warrior duties, dealing with an angry apprentice was the last thing they wanted to do. Oh, and the talking. They'd had enough of long conversations, and a looooong spiel was the last thing the apprentice would give before getting thrown into the river.

Vixen sat in the nursery waiting for Orange who promised to come in this moon to talk. Her tail swayed as she waited, counting each time her tail went back and forth. 26, 27, 28..., he thought, his mind wandered the more he counted, not paying attention around him. 35, 36... She kept up the counting, her paws lightly tapping the floor as she counted as well, the noise helped sometimes.

Morningpaw took a moment to just stare at the warrior in front of him for a few moments. Were they genuinely confused on why Morningpaw was upset? The newly named apprentice finally got on his paws and tilted his head, the anger was there but it was though it was put on a side burner. "Are you being actually serious?" After a few moments more, Morningpaw finally just sat down and made himself a liar to himself. "You were named my mentor and then you just left..." What in the world was going on. Morningpaw was so confused now, surely the other knew that he was Morningpaw's mentor and was just playing dumb and the apprentice was playing right into that. There was no other explanation to this besides the fact that Morningpaw was just automatically labeled as a bad apprentice, likely because of his age, or maybe because of the incident he was in when he was a younger kit.
