Quailpaw faced Cloverkit with a hiss. "I am not that much of a furball," she retorted. "And even so, at least I'm a big one."

Quailpaw then turned towards Ashkit. After thinking briefly, she let out a heavy sigh. "Fine, fine, you can team up with...this one," she said, hissing under her breath.

It doesn't matter, her thoughts growled. I don't need puny little kits on my side, anyways. I can beat them myself.

Cloverkit stepped up in front of Quailpaw with a sharp look. WELL, a big furball. Does that mean you have a furball for a brain? She snapped. OBVIOUSLY, me and Ashkit work really good as a team. And you don't work well with any cat! Cloverkit narrowed her eyes and walked back to stand beside Ashkit.

"Well, I–" Quailpaw was at a loss for words. The kit isn't wrong, she thought. She turned her head away from Cloverkit, trying to think of something clever. Clever, clever, clever...

An idea then popped into her head. The young she smirked. "Fine, fine, ya got me," she said, not doing the best job at covering her bad intentions in her voice. "Let's... let's just begin, shall we?"

Cloverkit smirked, pleased that she had fooled Quailpaw. But she wasn't entirely convinced. If she knew Quailpaw, she didn't back down that easily. Cloverkit blinked, hiding the suspicion behind half-closed eyes. We're playing chase the mossball. Cloverkit meowed and held the ball with her tail.

Quailpaw nodded. "Hm, I see," she said, still seeming unable to rid her voice of that sharpness. She flexed her claws, eyes fixed on the mossball. I can't miss this shot, and by StarClan, I sure won't, she thought with a grin.

"Alright then. Let's go!"

Cloverkit put her tail straight up so that every cat could see the ball curled in it. Hurry up slowpoke. She meowed sharply and swung the ball teasingly. Or are you frightened that we'll beat you?! Cloverkit teased.

"Ha ha, very funny, kit," Quailpaw retorted sarcastically. "Yeah, yeah, let me just..." Quailpaw very suddenly stopped stretching her paws, launching herself at the kit's tail with a loud growl. "Hah!" Quailpaw laughed.

Cloverkit yawned quite loudly and obviously. She flicked her tail to the other side and simply pushed Quailpaw aside as if she were a small rock. You really are slow! Been eating a lot of prey now, have you? She teased.
