"I just can't, ok? Why did I start talking about this... you know, just forget it? Think of me as your straight brother." Foxtail snapped. After a moment he muttered: "Sorry, didn't mean to get so angry, its just hard..."

Flamelight blinked at him and sighed. "You know, if you keep thinking and acting that way, you're gonna get hurt..." he muttered, shaking his head.

Flamelight sighed but didn't argue. This wasn't going well... Maybe he should just leave his brother be?

The past week or so had been downright miserable, weather-wise. It snowed, it rained, it snowed and snowed and snowed and rained some more. Then it rained. And snowed. And finally seemed to settle on Wet And Miserable. And that definitely suited ThunderClan just fine. The warrior thought so, at least, and she was taking no opinions stating otherwise. The last moon had been horrendous, much to the surprise of absolutely nobody in the crowd.

The worst part of the whole bloody mess was that Nectarflame tried. She tried to warn others of this failing system, and tried to get her point across. Yet Dogbark stopped any genuine effort to push his own Clan to stand for itself against its gnarled and twisted unresolved issues. The moment that the deputy doubled back on his own declaration that he would be better suited than Aspenstar was the moment that Nectarflame had tossed in the towel on the tom. No, you will not be best for the Clan. And you never will be. The Bengal did not doubt herself in her decision to stand against both of her high ranks. She did, however, feel troubled on what to do now. There was only so much that a warrior alone could accomplish, she was no fool to think otherwise. There had to be something. Perhaps this hunting expedition would allow the she-cat the time and space she needed to get a plan in order.

Charcoal ears swivel about atop her rounded head. Eyes focus on every minute movement in the bog, and despite the cold, she inhales deeply and lets every barely detectable scent wash down her throat.

Foxtail spotted the bird on the low branch of a nearby tree, and leapt up, catching it by the wing and he dragged it to the ground before killing it.

[I want to try and be on top of this, so you can get Sagepaw made a warrior as fast as possible. Let me know if I should do anything different or better! I’ll bump you for training every week, unless you tell me that you don’t want me to. After we’re done with a lesson I’ll immediately post a starter for the next one (unless you want to). Although with Mallardstep some in world time may have pasted, I’ll let you know how much at the beginning of each starter]

“So here we are. The training cave.” The black tom flicked his tail around disinterestedly. He slowly made his way to the middle of the training cave. I’ll teach her defensive moves first. It makes the most sense. Which ones the easiest? He wasn’t sure, guess they’d just have to find out together.

“Remember this is just practice. That means no claws. We’ll start off with defensive maneuvers. Imagine that I’m an enemy warrior, and that I’m about the swipe at your head. What should you do?” He sat down, for now content with just getting an answer for his question. After Sagepaw knew what was going on, he’d teach them with practice. As much as he didn’t want to be here right now, he didn’t want to just throw him into the deep end without warning.
