Springpaw’s breath was almost quick to catch in her throat when she caught a slight glimmer of hesitance in Sparrowfur’s dewy mismatched eyes, her muscles almost quick to tense as she trailed a paw among Yarrowcrest’s head to keep him conscious enough to stay afloat. A small part in Springpaw’s mind panicked for what choice that the brown-furred molly was going to make. Was she going to disagree? Was she going to try to argue? Was she going to start crying? All of the three burdening questions roared and rushed through her mind, Springpaw’s body already itching to try to get a piece of marigold out from her leafy pouch and be quick to start working on chewing it up into a poultice so that she could plaster it onto the wound to try to keep it from becoming more infected than how it already was. But she kept her posture as straightened as she could, lips pursed into a firm line and tail whisking as she silently swallowed down the words that were climbing up her throat for the molly to quickly get the bundle of burnet and bring it back to her as soon as she could. Luckily, for both of the terrified mollies' sakes, Sparrowfur didn’t stay in one spot for too long as she was quick to begin darting towards the herb storage, already starting to rummage through the usually-organized bundles of plants along the narrowed pit-like holes where each herb was organized into. Springpaw allowed the tight breath of air that she felt like were only intoxicating in her lungs to finally exhale, briefly letting go of the tightened enclosement that it held around her lungs. Stiffly, she focused back towards the weakening, struggling body of Yarrowcrest, and only felt her tired muscles tense once more.

Stars, he was looking worse and worse by each passing minute, Springpaw’s lapis blue hues trailed worriedly over his bi-colored pelt for a few second before placing down the crimson-stained moss-ball alongside herself, glancing back down towards the temporarily-clean area. Stars, it looked absolutely horrible to all hell. The tattered, peeled, torn skin among the bite wounds looked a deep, dark crimson red; the deep, inflamed gashes of feline-like bite marks a deeper velvet red than the torn skin that surrounded the bite-marks. Lighter, pale stains of blood tainted the purely snow-white fur that had originally been coated with the essence of blood itself before being washed off by a cool bundle of a sodden moss-ball, most of the fur among the leg still drying against the water that had been used to cleanse the bacteria and blood that stained the area once before. Springpaw’s throat clenched as she felt her stomach whirl sickeningly furthermore that she stared down at the engraved wound, her mind merely pondering the question of how a cat could even hold the capability to cause such mass damage like this to an innocent tom-cat. Springpaw almost mentally cringed towards the word, her white-tipped tail twitching nervously against the thought that purged her mind like the bitter outburst of a plague. ThunderClan… wasn’t quick to be claimed innocent by default. Yarrowcrest only received the injury that he gained from RiverClan’s sudden involvement with her clan trying to claim a part of their territory, thus leading to ThunderClan succeeding in doing so and leading to the purely intentional murder of Beanstar. Springpaw could easily feel her lips briefly pursing uncomfortably against the sudden thought that succumbed through her mind, her tri-colored ears instinctively pressing against her head.

What has ThunderClan become in a matter of late? Why was her clan turning into a group of cats that did nothing but cause treachery and problems to the other clans and destroy the peace that had once been held upon all four clans? It was confusing. Downright confusing. It was almost like ThunderClan was slowly becoming ShadowClan 2.0, and that was nothing but traumatizing for Springpaw herself to even bear with the current matters that were at stake. Her fogged mind purged and purged; her body feeling like it was dividing itself into both a hotness and a coldness, a softness and a hardness, a trembling and not trembling, the two halves feeling like they were grinding upon the other. She wasn’t sure how to fully comprehend the rather mixed feeling, but it was confusing. Puzzling. Her mind felt like it was merely buzzing and humming with throughs that buzzed just as aggressively as a worker bee’s wings. The dim light of the moonlight gently illuminated along the outer crevices of the medicine den, Springpaw’s eyes briefly glancing in the direction of pale moonlight that framed along the naturally dimmed opening. It would be considered a pretty sight if Springpaw felt like she was in a calm, content, and relaxed state. No, it was almost like a great bee coming home to its hive from some field where the honey is full of poisonous wilderness, of insanity and nightmare, its tiny body crammed with that over-rich nectar and now its sleeping the evil out of itself. Springpaw’s mouth felt undeniably dry, her body absolutely heaving with exhaustion as her confused, tired brain screamed at her to simply shut her eyes and lay in the comforting depths of her moss-bed.

She couldn’t do that just yet. Not now. There were things needed to be done and Yarrowcrest needed to be attended to. Her own needs could be looked at later. Oriental-shaped ears swerved towards the sound of someone frantically stumbling towards the current duo of feline’s and Springpaw instinctively turned her head, bitterly fighting away against the burning desire to sleep as she instinctively blinked away the haziness that mellowed over her eyes. The dark-furred form of Sparrowfur was quick to confirm the feline that had been towering over in her direction as she tried to comprehend sudden scrambling of frantic words that escaped the molly’s mouth. Incessantly blinking, the calico focused herself directly on the three bundles of herbs that Sparrowfur picked out from the herb storage, her pupils narrowing themselves down to narrow slits to focus her peripheral vision more clearly to locate down the rather similarly green herbs that Sparrowfur picked out. The worried tone that etched off from the molly’s was already more than enough to indicate the fact that the young warrior was concerned for if she hadn’t picked out the right herb or not. Well, that was rather worrisome. If Sparrowfur didn’t pick out the right herb from the three herbs that she snatched from the herb storage, the Yellowcrest’s life could be in grave danger as the given second. All Springpaw could do right now was sincerely hope and pray to StarClan that Sparrowfur managed to swipe the right herb out of the storage so that there won’t be any potential casualties frowning upon the trio of worried felines.

Stifling an exhausted mumble, the calico knelt herself down to peer in closer inspection at the green-colored herbs, swiftly inspecting one of each to get a clear view of what each herb exactly looked and smelt like. Two of them looked like they were exactly one of the same herbs, while one of them stood out in clear view like a lost puppy in a huge city. Humming thoughtfully, the tri-colored feline extended a forepaw and rubbed it along the surface of two identical plants to get a more clear view of what the herb exactly was. A silent sigh escaped her lips as she quickened her motions, her brows furrowed as she mumbled out a response to Sparrowfur. “Stinging nettle,” She spoke, her voice quiet and low as she gently brushed both of the plants to the side, completely ignorant to the sharp, sting-like barbs that poked and prodded at the soft skin of her paw-pads. She used the same paw to draw the final herb closer towards herself, squinting to look at it more clearly to get a more clear image of what the herb looked like. The tangy smell that was eliminated from the herb was more than enough to ease the suppressing nerves that were contradicting throughout the calico’s body. The pale, crystal clear moonlight helped put the herb into a more prominent view, making the calico expel the tight breath of air that was stuck in her lungs. “Thank the stars, its burnet,” she breathed, carefully picking up the herb with her jaws and feeling her tongue abruptly pull back against the bitter taste. Burnet was rarely a herb that was ever used in the den, so she felt both thankful and relieved for the fact that it was able to be used today.

Focusing her attention back towards Yarrowcrest, the calico’s eyes fueled with determination as she placed the herb right alongside herself, placing a paw atop of it to use a claw to strip it carefully into two even pieces: one of which being used to be digested for Yarrowcrest to be given strength, and the other piece to be chewed to a poultice to smear onto the bite wound in order to ease the inflammation. Pushing one of the halves over to Sparrowfur, the calico briefly glanced up in her direction as she prepared herself to give the molly yet another order. “Please try to coax Yarrowcrest into eating this piece of burnet. It’s going to taste bitter and most likely like bile, but it’ll help him keep his strength up and keep him from falling asleep. If you have to, get a clean moss-ball and soak it in water to help him digest the herb completely. Put your paw on the bottom of his jaw like this—” she lifted a white forepaw and placed it beneath her bottom jaw, being careful not to put too much pressure against the singular area, “—and begin rubbing it in a circular motion. It’ll help him swallow down the herb and keep him from spitting any of it out.” Springpaw explained, silently hoping that her wording wasn’t too complex for the young warrior to understand. Focusing back towards Yarrowcrest, the eleven moon old calico began to chew up the burnet, carefully chewing it up into a soft, mushy poultice so that she could smear it onto the wound to keep it from preventing any further infection.

Thus, after a few, silent, tense minutes of chewing, she lifted up a forepaw and used her tongue to slather the poultice onto the bottom of her paw pad, carefully moving it into the area to begin rubbing the poultice into the spot. A silent crippling of regret attacked at the molly’s immune system as she silently realized that she gave absolutely no warning whatsoever about the potential sting that might come from the poultice being smeared, but hopefully Yarrowcrest will pull through. It shouldn’t last too long and quickly numb the area so that he didn’t have to feel the stinging pain of the wound for a good while.

Sparrowfur let out a long sigh after Springpaw had managed to tell the herbs apart. Thank Starclan Sparrowfur was never interested in medicine. They all looked the same to her. She instinctively bent over Yarrowcrest, sitting as close to him as she could. She locked eyes with the young apprentice as she gave Sparrowfur more commands. She was thankful for something to do. She gazed with laser focus as Springpaw gave another order. This seemed more doable. She crouched down over her mates ears once again and whispered softly.

"I need you to eat this, it's going to taste like dung but it'll help you keep your strength." she mewed gently "You're doing so well Yarrowcrest, can you do this for me?"

She gently offered Yarrowcrest the herb, moving her paws like how Springpaw had explained moments before. She kept coaxing and cooing, hoping that her voice was enough to lure Yarrowcrest into staying awake.

Stars let him live.. she prayed silently.

Exhausted and dreadfully tired, the oriental calico had been occupied within the darker depths in the den. Her mind having been in an belatedly disoriented haze as her blurred peripheral vision stared half-mindedly down towards the narrowed pits of the herb storage where random bundles of different herbs laid. The exhaustion that laced her body was more than enough to signify the fact that she had been sleep deprived. How long had she lost hours of much needed sleep? The diluted calico wasn’t sure, but she didn’t want to dwell too much on the singular thought for too long. Her puzzled mind had already been aggresively fuming with the vivid memories of all of the recent events that had been happening as of late. A silent, staggering breath escaped her throat as the tired calico molly focused nimbly on the perceived images that played through her mind like an old cassette tape on one of those old, nineteen eighty TVs. Each of the images heaving heavy fits of static and each image growing more and more unclear than the last. Stifling yet another deep gulp of air into her tired lungs, the young feline half expected to feel an effective sense of relief from the simple action, yet all it felt was that she was breathing in a lungful of intoxicated air and it was bringing the infection closer and closer to her body. Her eyelids fluttered shut briefly against the pounding pain that throbbed throughout her brain, the young calico silently suppressing against the migraine that only ceased to worsen and worsen as time passed by. She could almost feel herself drifting into a deep sense of slumber, her legs wobbly as she felt herself slowly begin to drift away…

Suddenly, the rather dull sound of something hollow hitting against the roots of the tree den was more than enough to make her ears avert upwards towards its directions, her tired eyes abruptly shooting open to glance towards the direction of the narrowed entrance of the medicine cat den. Who in the world could be there? Just before the young calico could’ve lifted herself up onto all fours to investigate, her mentor was quick to beat her to it and she rushed her way over towards the entrance of the den to meet the newcomer that supposingly bumped their head into the narrowed rooftops of the medicine den. Well, since her mentor was going to investigate the scene, she might as well do so as well. Stifling a silent huff, Springpaw lifted herself up onto all four paws and trudged her way towards the entrance of the den; eyes squinted and posture slugged as she blinked incessantly to picture out the figure that entered the den. Even though her mind was in a rather sluggish state, it wasn’t hard for the calico molly to detect the slight traces of blood that were eliminated off from the newcomer and the rather worried posture that laced throughout Drizzlecloud’s body. Lapis hues jolted up widely in surprise when her ears listened to the concern that slipped from her mentor’s mouth, her own jaws going agape as she focused her direction towards the direction of the tom-cat again. Well, now that the tom-cat was in full view, Springpaw was able to clearly configure out who exactly the figure was that stumbled their way into the den.

“Alderstep?” She managed to croak out the response that had been itching to escape her throat, visibly wincing at the crackiness in her voice when she spoke. Her throat had been unbelievably dry and she hadn’t bothered to give herself a proper drink of water from the past few hours that she had been stuck in the medicine den. She knew how to care for others, yet she didn’t even bother to care for herself? What a shame. She drew her tongue across her lips to try to moisturize the rather dry area as she glanced over towards the worried form of her mentor, trying to fight away the bitter exhaustion that laced her system so that she could fully focus on the task at paw. “Do you want me to go ahead and get a moss-ball and the medical supplies to help clean out the bite wound on his neck?” Springpaw questioned, focusing her hazy eyes towards her mentor as she silently awaited to see what her mentor wanted to do. Stars, she was exhausted. She needed to get herself some more sleep at some point in time whenever she got the chance.

There's a voice again... This time it sounded so close. Turning his head a bit, he realizes that there's a face too close to his own. Narrowed eyes blinking in an attempt to will the haze away, he does his best to make out who it was cooing so softly at him. However, the words are still a slur in his dizzy mind. The only indicator of their identity is the dark blur of their fur. There was a thought brewing in his mind, now, which was good! Though when he tries to take a sniff all he can smell is the bitter sting of herb being offered to him. Being put in his mouth. And then he realizes what's going on. Eyes screwing shut once more he makes a pathetic attempt to chew the burnet with little success on his own. The urge to give up and spit it out was so damn strong! But the paw under his jaw pushes him onward and he summons all his strength to quickly swallow the mush, the sting of the bitter flavor moving down his throat. In an almost childish manner he sticks his tongue out with a noise of disgust...

Until Springpaw presses the poultice to his open wound. Eyes shooting back open wide, his jaw parts further in a silent yowl, claws unsheathing instinctively. It took all of his willpower not to swing at the medicine cat, because even in his daze he knows where he is. He knows who is helping him. And he had to let her help. No matter how much his leg burned something fierce.

Goodness? Alderstep blinked lazily at the warping, spinning image (stars, the floor was moving like the tide at Seastones) of Drizzlecloud, thoroughly confused. "What's good?" he muttered, shaking his head. Nothing's good right now, 'cause he was, like, tilted and falling over. But not really, because his paws were on the ground, right side up. Or maybe the ground was upside down. Maybe everything was wrong side up, and nobody knew because they were used to it.

He turned to bite Drizzlecloud as his mood turned cross, but he just ended up bumping her with his nose. "Get off me, you insolent simpleton," he complained, mumbling into her fluffy fur that smelled like disgusting herbs. Ew. She was gonna force him to eat those or, like, stuff them into his wounds or something. Oh. He was pretty sure he was getting his blood onto her. That was just as gross. What a hypocrite he was. And impolite, too.

Slit-pupils turned to study Springpaw, eye twitching. "You look like crow-food," he criticized briefly before turning his gaze to a nearby unoccupied nest. Eh, sure, he'll go lie down. He toddled over on shaky paws and flopped onto the bed of moss, not really aware of anything but the ground touching his toe-beans. He'd forgotten to answer Drizzlecloud's very important question, oh no.

Snoozefests, as much as he wished to hold one, would have to wait. Alderstep heaved a slow sigh. "Got my ass beat," he whined. More distressedly, he added, "By shadows!" He sniffed indignantly, kneading the moss on his nest. The days were turning a bit colder, so nests didn't always hold that forever warmth anymore. Even though this moss wasn't as comfy as his well-maintained nest, Alderstep still found it cozy and proceeded to conk out. Snrrk...snrrk....snrrkk...

@Omari @ares y'all can do whatever with him, he's basically a rag doll asleep

Drizzlecloud
Thunderclan
She/her

The poor little guy, Drizzlecloud thought to herself. She’d give him a good snuggle after all of this. She gave a short nod when she received a response from the kitten, hesitating for a moment before she leaned down to apply the marigold poultice to the kitten's leg first. She mewled out a quiet apology, knowing that it would certainly sting, before she lifted her head to apply more to the gash on the little one’s shoulder instead. Once she was pleased with that, she nosed at Pikekit’s forehead.

“Good job, very good job. We’re almost done, okay? I’m just going to wrap up your shoulder with cobwebs, and I’ll be doing the same with your leg, but… I’m going to wrap up a stick and align it with your leg so that it’ll heal properly, okay? It won’t hurt, it’ll probably just feel a little weird.” She explained softly as she shifted to knead at the cobwebs that Springpaw brought her earlier, loosening up the ball so that it would be a more proper bandage. Again, she just wanted to make sure that Pikekit knew what she was doing with him. She felt that it would reassure him a little bit–at least she hoped that it would.

[ @ares @Ymir @Caspian ]

Even before this interaction, Drizzlecloud knew that Sharpclaw was a pretty huffy and puffy boy, to say the very least… So his reactions didn’t surprise her, nor did they leave her disheartened either. If this tom behaved like this with almost everyone in the clan, why would she take it to heart?

“No, not worried at all? Well, I suppose that’s good then.” She murmured, a good-natured purr rumbling in her chest as she watched him eat up one of the poppy seeds that she gave him. It seemed to have helped him a bit–judging from the purring that emanated from him, at least. The urge to tease him a little bit was strong, but she refrained, not wanting to make him uncomfortable.

She wasn’t necessarily done with treating him yet, but he had already stood up and practically declared that what she had done was enough for him. The look she gave him was quizzical and suspicious, watching out as he tested out how his leg felt.

“I want you to take it easy for a while, okay?” She called after him, voice still gentle but insistent. “Make sure that you come see me soon so I can check on the healing, as well–and if I catch you putting too much pressure on yourself, I’ll nip your ears!” A promise that even the clan’s deputy knew she would follow through with–seriously, if Sharpclaw asked Alderstep about it, he’d surely tell him all about it.

[ @Tecumori – absolutely ]

Luckily for Larchflame, Drizzlecloud was in the medicine den! Tired and seemingly half asleep, but there nonetheless. She hadn’t initially noticed the warrior’s arrival, only realizing she was there due to a shift in lighting, to which she slowly turned her head to view her new visitor. Blinking owlishly at her, her eyes scanned over her form–not noticing any open wounds, thankfully, so she couldn’t help but wonder if maybe she was coming down with something.

“Hey, there!” She trilled, standing up and quickly padding over to meet her. Once she was close enough, she ducked her head so that she could view the molly’s body more closely– “Are you injured?”

[ @Apollo. @/ares]

The young tom was clearly struggling with staying awake, so hopefully she could make this quick for him so that he could get some rest. For now, though, she wanted him to stay awake. Still with her tail resting over his soaked fur, she leaned down to pick up the marigold head from earlier, to which she began to chew it up. Once she was happy with the consistency, she hummed softly to the apprentice as if to warn him, and then she carefully applied the poultice to his injured paw.

The paw–the toes, at the very least, definitely looked worse for wear. She wasn’t totally sure how to treat broken or sprained toes yet, although she knew how to treat broken legs themselves. It didn’t seem like the paw itself was broken, but a few toes were definitely damaged. With a sigh, she plucked up the cobwebs from the ground, to which she kneaded and pulled at it until she could effectively wrap it around his injured paw.

“Okay, Dreampaw.” She spoke softly, giving him a few licks between the ears again before she moved to groom the fur on his shoulders, wanting to make sure that he stayed warm. “I’m going to let you rest now, but I’ll be here with you while you sleep. I don’t want you getting too cold, so I’ll be keeping you warm until your body can maintain it’s heat again.” The blue-grey tabby paused to continue grooming his fur, her tail gently brushing over the expanse of his back. “I want you to stay in the medicine den for a little while–no patrols or training for the next couple of days. I want to keep an eye on your paw, and I don’t think any physical activity is going to help it… If anyone gives you a hard time about that, you direct them to me, okay?”

[ @MockingRabbit]

Yeah, that gathering had been a complete and utter mess. Drizzlecloud arrived back at camp a little bit earlier than the rest of the clan, looking rightfully frazzled and deeply upset by the events that took place tonight. When she entered her den, she certainly wasn’t expecting for someone to already be in there–

“Mudhound?” She breathed out when she entered, eyes going wide at the big explanation that she received not long after. Her brain had been nearly muddled before, but now she was certain that all of her brain cells had practically separated from one-another. Tonight had just been far too much to handle, but even so, she had a job to do. Mentally, she picked up all of the little pieces of herself that had shattered at the gathering, piecing them back together carefully as she stepped closer to the apprentice that lay in one of the moss beds in her den.

With a gentle hum to tell Mudhound that she heard their explanation, she leaned over to carefully nose at Ghostpaw. First, she listened for her heartbeat, pressing her left ear to the young apprentice’s chest–yep, a steady heartbeat indeed. As she sat up straight, she gave Ghostpaw a lick between the ears, even if she wasn’t awake to feel it, she still felt sorry for the little one.

“I… She should be okay, I think she just fainted due to shock and fear, like you said.” The healer shook her head, looking disappointed and visibly upset. Not with Ghostpaw, not with Mudhound–but with that fiendish apprentice, Cracklepaw. She didn’t like thinking poorly of her own clanmates, but the tom had made quite the impression on quite literally all of the clans tonight. “If you want, I can keep her in here for the night, keep an eye on her. Unless you have other plans?”

She assumed that Mudhound wouldn’t be letting Ghostpaw sleep in the apprentice’s den tonight.

[ @Rani , @Starfinder ]

It was almost funny–actually, it was really funny, but equally as confusing, so she just decided to let it slide. They basically canceled each other out at this point. With a shake of her head and a sigh, she urged him into the den, still allowing him to lean his weight against her, even if his words weren’t the kindest.

“Those are big words, Aldie, where did you learn those from?” She asked him softly, a chuckle escaping her rather than taking any of his statements to heart. He was almost completely out of it, so she really couldn’t hold it against him. If he had been in good health and in his usual headspace, she probably would’ve nipped his ear for his poor manners, but she could save that for some other time.

“Ignore him, he’s not thinking straight.” She pointed out when she heard his criticism that was thrown haphazardly at her apprentice. Nodding her head to Springpaw, she offered her a reassuring smile. “Yes, please. I can handle him, if you’d like–you look tired.”

Really, she didn’t mind taking care of Alderstep all by herself. Springpaw clearly needed some rest, so it wouldn’t bother her at all if she just grabbed her a few things to patch him up with and then went straight to sleep. She wouldn’t blame her.

Goodness,” She muttered out yet again at his statement, sounding like a queen responding to one of her kits telling her a bizarre story that she actually knew the truth about. Of course she knew that he had gotten his tail handed to him, but the real question here was–who was the culprit? And there it was, her answer.

She rolled her eyes as he passed out, leaning over to nose at his forehead before she quietly began grooming his fur as she waited for Springpaw to return with those herbs.

Drizzlecloud’s left ear twitched at the call of her, and her apprentice’s, name. She lifted her head to view their new visitor–oh, goodness, she was hurt bad!

“Shypaw!” She voiced her shock after just sitting there in silence for a moment, standing up and rushing to the apprentice’s aid. “What happened to you? Tell me–wait, come in, first. I want you to sit in one of these moss beds. I’m going to grab some things to help patch you up, but I want you to tell me everything, okay?”

Drizzlecloud ushered Shypaw to a moss bed, gently nosing at her fur as they went in an attempt to see just how many injuries she was sporting right now–and to see just how bad they were.

Drizzlecloud hardly had the time to react to Wildtwist’s arrival before he was already ducking out of the den again.

“Hey!” Her voice came out sharper than usual, urgent and a tad bit upset. She sprang up from where she had been, practically darting out of her den to swivel up in front of the warrior. “Nuh-uh, no you don’t.”

Feeling that she came off a bit strongly, she relaxed, her gaze softening. She offered Wildtwist a smile, tilting her head to the side with her left ear pointed up into the air. “You don’t need to be so anxious–we’re here to help you, so if you feel like you’re bothering us, you truly aren’t. It’s our job, and I’d much rather you come see us for even the most minute issues than to let them fester into something much worse.”

@omari

Shypaw Sighed deeply "i... i've only got some cuts... maybe a few bruises... i... was being Super foolish... fought without battle training.... dumb shadowclanners" she said the last part under her breath. she layed down subduded with injured pride... "i wish i could just grow up already and be a warrior like everyone else... not a apprentice with stupidity" she mumbled

Leaf yelped and tumbled back in surprise as drizzlecloud came in front of him. "ight, if you say so," he said quietly. Stars, when did Drizzlecloud get scary? they thought to leafself. He went back into the medicine den and sat down, holding out his right paw. "Spar with bumblestar, was thrown at the bed of Sunkissed Creek," he said, giving a brief rundown to drizzlecloud. An idea came to his mind, but he pushed it away. But.... "Hey, Dirzzlecloud? Could I talk to you, prehaps?" he whispered, barely audible.

[How would you like drizzle to know bout wild's leaf Pronouns omari?]

Was it just her, or was she just really hungry? The question practically hung itself over her head as she silently strayed herself into the darker, cooler depths of the den, silently proceeding with the thought that had been running through her head like rabid rabbits. Procrastinating wasn’t something that she was fond of doing, yet she couldn’t help but stray herself away from the bitter herbs and stray into the thoughts that were mingling around like tiny bits of stardust trailing through the galactic air. Lips pursed with thought, her snow-white paws compressed themselves into the coarse dirt of the medicine den below, smearing the fur into a soft tinge of brown from the life-rich soil beneath her paws. It felt nice really, to put her paws onto somewhere that was cool and moist against the scorching hot rays of sunlight that were eliminated from the outside of the tree den. Whiskers twitching, the dilute calico resisted the urge to let out a silent scoff against the thoughts that burned through her mind like a raging fire licking through the dead grass like it was its last meal. It probably wasn’t the best way to describe the way that the young calico had been feeling, but it was the closest that could easily fit the description with the burden that she felt upon her shoulders. A soft shiver escaped her body, in rhythm with the gentle lapping of the small stream within the den. It felt relieving in a way, almost calming… It was a gentle calming that didn't happen quite as often as it should, and it made Springpaw feel rather guilty than most. Peace was something that was considered valid, almost being entirely unable to coexist due to all the rising tension that had been upholding. It was sad, really. Almost too sad. There were things going on that couldn’t be fixed and the medicine apprentice wasn’t even damn sure of how to fix it. How the hell were they espoused to help something if all they could do was stand and watch? It made her ticked off!

Oriental-shaped ears took in the sound of a rather uneven gait, consciousness flooding itself into Springpaw’s system as she abruptly rose herself to her paws, glancing in the direction of the newcomer dropping by. Who could be coming into the den now? Was it for a broken leg? Sprain? Sore? It was either one or the other, but Springpaw was hoping that they had at least some daisy leaves to help ease the pain if that’s the case. Stifling a tired yawn, the calico trekked her way towards the entrance of the den, blue hues growing adjusted to the figure that stood in front of both her and Drizzlecloud. Larchflame, huh? Not necessarily a cat that Springpaw knew particularly well, but knew well enough that she was a warrior of ThunderClan. A silent hum escaped her throat as the calico studied the molly in front of her, squinting her eyes to take a better look at her. She felt her eyes land towards the paw that the molly had barely bothered to bear much pressure on, and Springpaw felt her lips silently quiver in a sense of pleasure and worry. “I’m guessing Larchflame has a sprain, thankfully that’s nothing critical or serious of sorts,” she explained, examining the paw that Larchflame wasn’t bothering to put pressure on. “What exactly happened to it? Did you fall?” She wanted to ask first before going to gather a large leaf and any potential daisy leaves if they had any so that the poor molly didn’t have to deal with the pain any longer. That must suck to deal with.
