Cloverkit scoffed. I don't have to listen to other kits like you. She sneered. Cloverkit watched the kit tumble down before tossing the moss ball in the air and catching it with her teeth. She listened to the kit talk. Tthaf's an oghay nhame. She mumbled before spitting out the ball. That's an okay name. Cloverkit repeated.
As soon as Cloverkit spit the mossball, the small kit would once more become hyper focused on it, not wasting time replying for the time being. Both claws reached for the falling ball, as she once more zoomed and pounced towards it to grab it between them, little claws like needles fully unsheathed.
She also showed to have learned from her previous experience as she was prepared to roll and fall harmlessly on the floor regardless of success or failure in such endeavor, instead of risking eating another mouthful of loose dirt.

Daffodilpaw sat a little ways back, but at the ready in case the moss ball came her way. A purr rumbling in her throat. She flicked her tail thoughtfully at the question raised. “Hmm…a hedgehog is…” She wasn’t sure how to describe the spiny creature. “Hard to explain actually.” She said with a little chuckle. “They’re small, kinda spikey? Like little burrs but they’ll poke you. Oh! But that’s only when they’re being defensive. They’re kinda cute!” She struggled to explain the concept, eventually shrugging. “That’s the best I got, haha. Maybe you’ll get to see one when you’re apprentices!” She resumed her play bow stance, ready to catch the moss ball if it came her way but out of the way enough that she wouldn’t intervene if the kits wanted to play amongst themselves.

Cloverkit snarled and pounced on the ball, rolling along with it. She put the ball in her jaws and flung it to Viperkit
Ashkit stepped inside the nursery. He just came back from the Galewood meeting. He spotted Leopardsong and trodded towards her, dodging a ball that was passing by. “Hi Leopardsong!” Ashkit wasn’t able to call her mom. Maybe one day he will. “Did you go to the meeting too?” He asked. “And I met Sedgekit, he’s 0 moons old!” Ashkit was excited to announce her the news. “Oh and what’s a medicine apprentice?” Asked the kit.

Long, soft kit fluff sticking out in all directions, Cardinalkit wobbled on uncertain paws back to her family's nest. The one they shared with Firenotmom and her litter. She had learned fairly early in life that she had littermates and not littermates, and frankly, she preferred her littermates. They were better to gather up and sleep in a pile with. And they were her same age. Not bigger and potentially able to bully her if they so wished. Not that she would let them. She might be tiny, but her slowly emerging teeth could rip out a toe if they really wanted to. Maybe. Potentially. That was her story and she was sticking to it until she could bully the - nonexistent - bullies, okay?
"Eep!"
It was disgraceful. The squeak of a sound that Cardinalkit had learned to associate with her father. His battle cry, if you will. Usually uttered nervously whenever he felt like he had slighted someone. It was an embarrassment to be uttering the same pathetic phrase as she took a tumble down to the center of the nest, tripping at the edge on clumsy, kit paws. In an instant, she wriggled and tossed her way upright, looking left and right challengingly. Making sure no one had heard that little slip of the tongue, and if they had, promising a world of pain if so much as a laugh was sounded.
She didn't hate her father for his weakness, truth be told. It was honestly very hard to hate the soft mountain of fur, even if he couldn't live in here with them all the time like Firenotmom. But as much as she loved the soft spoken tom, she didn't want to be him. No. She needed to be better. Stronger. Braver. Oh! Like... like their auntie Bravebird! Wait... had she told her littermates about their auntie? About how they had family - real family, not family that was taking care of them because it was their job family, duh - in WindClan? About how their auntie was a fury - she had no idea what that was, but it sounded so cool - and their great grandmother was the fury lemon! Lentil? Something like that. Who cared?! They were furies! And you know what? That was her first stop! On her path to greatness! She would be Cardinalstar someday!
The challenging scowl erased from her face, replaced by a beaming, dreamy, confident grin. The Maine Coon mix turned her gaze left and right once more, this time searching for her littermates as she walked among the moss and brambles of their nest. Pale green eyes narrowed gleefully as she spotted a victim. Or a sister. Either word worked right now. Until it didn't. Because she realized that Seedkit was being boring and sleeping. No no no, sleeping was overrated. Overrated! Never mind that she was probably asleep half the time her littermates were awake, she wanted Seedkit to be awake now! They had to talk about stuff! Like how great she was going to be one day! And how she would be so strong she would be able to protect their whole family all by herself! Although Seedkit was allowed to help, obvs. She wasn't about to relegate any of her kin to the background.
With purpose, Cardinalkit made her way through the nest. Taking a tumble here and there as not even a moon old paws got used to the very important act of walking, the fluffy puff ball made it to the pale, sleepy she-kit, sitting loudly besides her as she exasperated. Now. The calico wanted her sister to wake up. A lot. But... she was also not willing to wake her up just to talk. Look, she got it. She was important. A kit created from the stars to bless WindClan. But like... so were her littermates. She wasn't going to lord over her superiority to them! If Seedkit wanted to sleep, she would let her sleep, for sure. She just didn't have to be happy while she waited, hmph!

Ears perk up as soon as the apprentice starts explaining ‘Hedgehogs’ to them, her mind almost immediately imagining an od mix between a mouse, a grass seed, and the brambles she was so used to, creating an odd spiky creature that probably was a bit far from the actual appearance of the creature “Can you catch them? Like the apprentices that bring food to mom catch mice? Or is it too hard to catch with all the spikes? Or-”
A small near-squeak sound leaves the kit’s mouth as she is pounced by Coverkit, realizing that she was still playing the chase-the-mossball game, squirming and thrashing a bit to try and zoom out of her playmate, with or without the little ball, until she managed to free herself.
However, as soon as the mossball was flung her way, much to her surprise, she jumped just high enough to catch it, right before zooming towards and behind Daffodilpaw, fully intending to use her as a shield between herself and Cloverkit in a playful manner. It was her turn with the ball!
