Re: ShadowClan Clearing
BASSPAW
—His eyes blinked rhythmically as if on a timer, opening, lingering, closing, opening, lingering, closing, opening. The heavens above were a blur of dark green, and every so often the shape of a particular leaf stood out along the canopy, though much of it was inconspicuous and unremarkable. Basspaw lay in the clearing for a long time, not having much to do with himself. His paws itched with an urge that pulled him to stand and make something out of his time, but this force was directly in contrast with the fact that laying here was so, so comfortable... and, with as much soul-searching as he was willing to do, he couldn't find it in himself to get up...
His chest rose and fell, less rhythmically--his asthma sometimes decided to act up, especially during the spring--and he continued to lay there for a while, until a light sort of twilight set in and he began to hear the hum of insects stirring. He began the process of standing upright, first stretching; he arched his back for a moment and let his muscles feel the tension, then released. That felt nice. Blinking the drowsiness out of his eyes, his head took a few turns, his gaze sweeping the clearing. There was no urgency in his movement, no acknowledgement to time as a dimension at all.
At last, his gaze set on a lean black cat in the clearing. He thought he had seen them around, and he liked to think he was good with names. Hollowhawk, maybe? He would wait til they said their name first to make sure. The apprentice thought about how to approach them for a second, and hovered uncertainly with a paw outstretched to take a step in their direction.
Abruptly he changed his mind, glanced at the floor, and, curiously, threw a pebble in their direction. His aim could... be improved.... so whether the pebble landed on them or on the floor nearby was to be seen. —
