Hmph. That sucks. Part of her wanted to cross the border and inspect closer but even she knew they would get her in more trouble than it was worth, "Anything special about them?" she piped up after a moment, "If ShadowClan is sneaky and we're the swimmers, then what do they do? Snowfern was still starting across the border when she responded, "Thunderclan tend to hunt in the undergrowth. They tend to fight with brute force, from what I know, but not all Thunderclan cats are big and burly, obviously." she replied, turning to look down at Sorrelpaw. She hasn't ever interacted with Thunderclan cats that much, she just told Sorrelpaw what Creekleap had told her. "Do you have any more questions about Thunderclan before we move on?" she asked, getting ready to head to their border with Windclan.

Reaching the end of the border, Berryscorch turned around to see Snowfern and Echostream had both chosen sections and were beginning marking, so she did the same, going along the bank of the river and rubbing her scent on any markers which smelled stale. So far, nothing seemed out of the ordinary here. No indications of trespassing from other clans, but that was just from her part of the border. Perhaps one of the other two patrol members would find something worth mentioning in a report.

Dawnpaw looked on completely amazed at her mentor as she fished a fish out of the water. “Wow... how’d you know when to strike and how did you angle your paw?” She ran up to the side of the water and looked into the reflection, her tail would be moving if it wasn’t stuck straight

Echostream had finally reached the end of the middle section and looked around but there was nothing. 'Nothing to report over here...' She said this in her mind.

While Snowfern was refreshing the markers, she picked up the stench of crowfood. Taking a cautious step towards the source of the smell, she immediately wrinkled her nose at the sight of two rotting, half eaten birds. She hesitantly leaned down to sniff the remains, and picked up the scent of another cat, though it didn't seem to be a clan cat. It smelled like a loner, or a rogue. She turned and darted towards the other members of the patrol, "I found remains of prey. They have the stench of loners or rogues on them" she explained.

She ran back from the end of the middle section and reached Snowfern.
"Loners or rogues? In our territory? I think it's best we report this to the leader so we can chase them out."
She looked at Berrybounce and flicked her tail as if to ask do you agree.

"You have to be quick. As soon as you see a fish come close you have to attack, but if you attack too early the gush will be able to swim away. It has to be right under your nose. Then you slap it with your paw like this." Nighttuft showed her paw, which was curved far and had claws unsheathed.

Dawnpaw nodded and copied the paw movement out of the water, staring down and hoping to see some fish she could catch. Her very first time catching fish, how exciting! She was sure the queens would enjoy a nice plump fish, as would the elders. "How come other clans think eating fish is weird? It's delicious!" She tried to talk softly and contain her excitement as she stood by the edge of the lake.

Upon finishing up the last markers in her section, Berryscorch turned to see Snowfern rushing towards her and Echostorm, bringing news of outsider-scented prey. "Bring us to the remains. I'll make sure to report it, but first we'll have to try and figure out how fresh the scent is." There was no doubt she'd be reporting this discovery, but she wanted to make sure they had all the facts straight. If the scent was really fresh, then there was a chance the trespassers were still hanging around here. And even if not, it was better to be safe than sorry.

"Let's go and check out how fresh it is now." Echostream started padding towards the section of where Snowfern went to.
