Mistpaw didn't turn around at all. She refused to turn around. He looked scary, Mistpaw thought, doing her best to not whimper. The apprentice may not have seen the stranger's face, but she didn't need to. That cat seemed to have an eerie aura and she really didn't like it. For a moment, Mistpaw lost a bit of her confidence in herself. If she was already scared of a cat she had not even seen the face of, how was she going to deal with becoming a warrior? There were manh more problems to deal with, being a warrior. Maybe she wasn't cut out. No, stay focused, Mistpaw told herself, shaking her head, as if shaking out all the miserable thoughts she had.
The ShadowClan apprentice broke into a run. Stupid Mistpaw! You'll never get anywhere if you don't run! Mistpaw thought with frustration. But her frustration didn't help get rid of her fear at all. The apprentice dared to turn her head around for less than a second. She first checked to make sure no obstacles stood in her path before whipping her head around, fear glinting in her eyes. Terror shot through her small body as she saw the gray cat was following her. Turning her head back around, Mistpaw started to sprint. She shot past bush's and tree's. "Oh StarClan help me," Mistpaw whispered as tears started to form in her eyes. Was this going to be the last time she stood in this territory? Was she ever going to see the beautiful new-leaf sun again? Would she be gone before she could even at least say good-bye to her parents? No. You will not die today. You will find your mentor and get help, Mistpaw told herself in an almost inaudible whisper. The white furred cat felt her legs crumple down beneath her as she felt a heavy weight being planted on her back. The white cat shrieked in fright as she tumbled to the ground. "This can't be happening," Mistpaw whispered as a tear dropped onto the ground where she was flattened. Slowly, she turned her head to meet the face of her attacker.
Hannibal.

Please help me StarClan, Mistpaw begged in her mind. That was the most she had now. The large toms weight crushed her, if she moved, excrutiating pain would shoot through her. Her leg especially. She was almost certain she had broken a few bones in her body. "Who are you? And what do you want?" Mistpaw asked the tom, her voice trembling. She tried to not show any fear, but that tremble she had gave everything away. It's alright Mistpaw. You'll be alright. Someone will save you, Mistpaw thought, though she deeply doubted this. "Please don't hurt me."
No one would blame Mistpaw from turning around, it was a common feeling that Hannibal had an eerie look to him, that he truly did look like some sort of monster with those hellish eyes and emotionless face. But she made a lethally bad mistake by running away, she may have lived if she had tried to talk to him, might have walked away to breath another day, but no, here they were running, the Syndicate cat quickly gaining on the half-blind apprentice.
Several moments passed and time seemed to slow as he closed the distance so quickly, those lean muscles rippling with ease beneath that grey cloak of fur he wore, tail streaming out behind him, his claws already unsheathed. Hannibal's head was completely devoid of thought, completely clear from any distraction, his eyes focused on her, the ground closing in between them, soon came the calculations for his jump. While he made these calculations, the apprentice whispered to herself and seemed to attempt to try and give herself courage. Too bad that wouldn't help her now, nothing could really help her unless there was some cat around to prevent her untimely death. But alas, there wasn't. Not that Hannibal could smell. And so, with the calculations out of the way, he leaped and landed right on his mark, crashing into Mistpaw's back and flattening her to the ground. Breathing out slowly, he carefully sunk his claw into her shoulder blades as he looked down at the terrified heap of fur he caught. For a moment the young cat appeared to be frozen in place as she swiveled her head around to look at him, his burning gaze looking coolly down at her, the tip of his tail flicking slowly back and forth. He knew she would say something, cats always said something on the verge of death, whether it be a plea to let them live, or a question as to why he was doing this, or a great number of predictable things, so he simply waited, allowing the apprentice time to think up something. There came two questions, fairly common, and then the most common of all statements that come from cats that are about to be killed. Please don't hurt me.

Sighing out, Hannibal watched her, not taking his eyes off of her, not breaking eye contact.
Should I bother? I suppose I can give her the satisfaction of knowing before her death and I have time to spare now that she isn't raising an alarm. It was a risky decision for him to not kill her right away, but sometimes a risk was needed in order to find an interesting situation. Besides, wouldn't it be rude to simply ignore the question?
"My name is Hannibal and I am of the Dusk Syndicate. I came here for my own interests which I unfortunately don't feel that I should indulge you with. As for not hurting you? I'm dreadfully sorry dear, but you've shown me that you can't be trusted and I can't have you scurrying off to warn others about me. I give you my word it'll be quick, but you will not be walking away from this spot alive. So before I do kill you, do you have a preference in the way you wish to die? Or any last words you'd like to divulge to me?" The tom spoke as coolly as if he were speaking with a fellow member of the Syndicate on a warm sunny day in the clearing, like he wasn't about to kill this apprentice on her own territory, like what he was doing was.. Normal.

"Of cause I'll keep being your friend! And hey, I'm goofy too! That's a good thing to have.. It would be so boring if we'd be some of those grumpy cats.." She said, tilting her head lightly. She wanted to admit her feelings so badly, but what Ocelotpath had just said made her hold it back a little. Did he only feel like she were his friend? Had her suspicions been wrong about the feelings being mutal? For a moment, she were scared. Still slightly traumatized from her former mate's sudden leave and her daughter's death, she were still scared to take on a mate even though the loner had left her more than twenty moons ago. She were terribly scared that whoever she took as mate would leave her at once when something seemed to be off. And ever more terrified that if she ever got kits again, they would die before warrior age. She had seen her experience as a curse on her, even though it had only happened once before. She knew it was probably not going to happen again, and yet she were still halfly worried to death.
Tilting her head, she peered at the tom in front of her, partly hoping he had just a little bit more to say.

The tom looked a little embarassed. Her words sent a thrill through him, of course-- and he wished he could tell her-- but the fact that she seemed to just want to be friends was discouraging him. He couldn't give up, he knew that. He had to push through this. He was going to tell her. And he was going to tell her now, because he knew that she would not reject him. The emotions that were swirling in the pit of Ocelotpath's stomach and giving him chills all up and down his spine were now prickling at his chest too, making his heart hurt. He felt like he could do anything-- with her, of course. "Y-yeah, it would, heh..." Ocelotpath chuckled uncertainly before falling silent. Now. It had to be now.

And it had to be quickly, because he knew that some cats would snap her up for power-- and although she wasn't stupid, on the contrary she was one of the most intelligent cats he had ever met, sometimes bad things happened... if she wasn't given the attention and care that she deserved. "There's something else you should know. But-- but I don't want it to change the way things are, okay?" He mewed. Ocelotpath wasn't a necessarily brave cat. In fact, this was one of the bravest things he had ever done.

This was one of the most terrifying things he had ever done. And he was worried that something bad was going to happen, that the world was going to crash and burn, and that the territory would be taken up in flames. All because of three words; three words that were almost impossible to say. He tried once, unable to get them out, and a pained expression crossed his features followed by one of confusion. A second time he tried and failed, and then sighed. "Moondancer..." He looked her directly in the eye, so she would know that he was telling the truth.

"...I love you."

He said.

Ratpaw quickly changed the subject before Tawnypaw even had the chance to comment on his name. "I usually come out her to clear my mind, get away from my mother and mentor." He said. He didn't tell cats about his mother but he wanted to change the subject so he said the first thing that popped into his head.
Tawnypaw gave an inclination of her head to show that she had heard his name, but she said nothing. She didn't want to get on his bad side, as she was on the bad side of many cats. It was rare that she wasn't on somebody's bad side, so she wasn't going to mess that up unless she saw fit to do so. She wouldn't have laughed even if he hadn't told her not to. She saw nothing bad about the name.

She could only understand why he'd want to get away from his mother. If her mother were still around, she would probably be a different cat. She would be around her mother all the time. “Why would you want to get away from your mother? Oh....” she began, then trailed off, realizing that maybe, his mother was like most ShadowClan cats, and nodded with understanding. “Never mind that.” she said quickly, her ears pinned back in annoyance with herself.

Ratpaw folded his ears back as Tawnypaw asked her question. He wasn't quite ready to answer that sort of question, he let out a sigh of relief as she quickly changed her mind. "Do you have a good relationship with your mom?" He asked.

He wondered what it was like if him and his mother had a good relationship. He didn't mean to pry but most Shadowclan mother's act somewhat like his mother. His mother was much worse but most cats didn't question his mother or The way she acted. So he wonderedwhy Tawnypaw questioned him, even if it was for a split second.

Tawnypaw's fur bristled along the spine, and for a moment, she felt like resuming her agitated pacing. She stared at her paws, uncomfortable. She didn't really want to answer that question, but she reminded herself that this was ShadowClan. Everyone would figure iit out sooner or later. “Never really got much of a chance.” she said flatly, leaving out as much details as possible.

She looked at him, her eyes narrowed with unhappiness at the subject. She looked n again, refusing to look up. Her muscles were tensed, ready for Ratpaw to start hurling insults at her and then fun away, like so many others did. That was how it always went. Everybody was just the same, and she couldn't bring herself to believe otherwise. There'd been no proof of it, sher had no reason to.

Ratpaws ears twitched with curiosity. He wondered what Tawnypaws mother was like, he frowned when he realized her mother must not be around anymore. He couldn't remember there being a recent death, but he knew the old leader died in the big battles tho clans had a few.moons ago.

'Maybe her mom died in tho battled too.' He thought. His mother had told him to stay behind every other cat in tho battle since an said he was a terrible fighter and ruin every thing. He had the urge to nuzzle Tawnypsw to make her feel better. He didn't like his mother much but he lost his father so he kinda knew how it felt.

"I'm sure she was great! My father passed away too, he was a good cat. They always take away the good ones first." He said in a somewhat bitter tone.

She was a bit surprised when he said nothing, and she looked up, realizing that he didn't know who she was exactly. The small molly blinked. She remembered little of her mother, and only a little more of her father. She wondered if his father were still around, but the apprentice held her tongue, feeling her fur begin to bristle again.

She looked him over, squinting due to the darkness. The moon cast very little light, and in that faint moonlight, she looked more like her mother than ever. She raised her head proudly, her fur smoothing out. She glanced around quickly, her amber hues bright with a mixture of pride and resentment.

Tawnypaw gave a short, humorless laugh, her tail twitching. “She was.” the dark brown tabby muttered, flattening her ears. “I'm sorry. Yeah. . . . Wait, they?” she asked uneasily, having the sickening sensation that he meant StarClan. If he did, he was wrong. The anger began to reenter her gaze, her fur neck fur bristling.

Jaguarclaw was padding out into the territory. Perhaps to hunt or perhaps to find something exciting to do. Since Marbledface went missing, he was lacking in his excitement aspect. The Bengal's reasoning for leaving camp was unknown, but he allowed his large paws to guide him through the familiar territory. His tail flicked behind him as he began to think about his apprentice's training. Where should he start with battle training? What moves should be learn now? Should he merely focus on hunting techniques? You'd think this was the warrior's first apprentice, but it wasn't. Risingpaw was his second apprentice and Jaguarclaw was determined to train him better than he did his last one, Ibisprowl. Ibisprowl was his best friend's kit and the warrior felt like he failed them both despite their training going fairly well. Perhaps it was just Ibisprowl's attitude towards everything?
Anyways, as the warrior walked aimlessly through the territory, he allowed himself to come back to reality for a moment. In that moment he noticed an unfamiliar dark shape lounging on a rock nearby. She had Shadowclan's scent so obviously she was a fellow clan mate. A welcoming smile crossed his lips and he causally made his way towards the ebony feline. "What's a pretty little kitty like you doing out here all alone? Don't you know it's dangerous in leaf-bare?" he spoke, a teasing note to his voice. Nothing about Jaguarclaw was meant to seem intimidating, but do to his breed, he was a bit larger than average. It may not seem like much, but that's enough to scare some warriors away, or kits for that matter.
