Wildkit yawned widely as he stepped out of the nursery. Listening to Ashkit and Specklekit argue over who was going to play shadowclan's leader was getting tiresome. He say down on the edge of the clearing and watched the cats. He wasn't sure if he wanted to play with anyone, yet. He was still a bit groggy from his nap, something obvious to anyone that saw the kit still covered in bedding moss.

Morningpaw came out of the Apprentice's Den, yawning. The dark tabby flicked his tail, and blinked his amber eyes owlishly. Padding over into the clearing, the black and brown tom-cat headed in a random direction. Until he tripped over something. "Argh! Sorry-" He backed off, blinking, and then looked down, seeing a kit. Around 3 moons old, he'd say. Wow, that was a good guess. He was hardly ever around kits.

Wildkit was slowly blinking his eyes until they were momentarily closed. Was he nodding off again? The morning was warm and comfortable for him as he sat there, starting to lean forward and-

"Ack!" Yellow eyes popped open again as someone tripped over him! He looked up at the dark cat apologizing to him. He hadn't realized the older tom was even close to him until right then. He blinked a few times before his sleep-fuzzy brain caught up. "It's okay. I'm Wildkit. What's your name?" He asked. What a good opportunity to make a new friend!

@Dreamheart (per rules, they'll just be friends until he gets a crush on Morningpaw when he is an apprentice. : D)

Morningpaw blinked in mild surprise at the younger tom. He had just tripped over him and he was... asking for his name? Okay, this kit had some problems. Sitting down rather awkwardly, the dark, mottled tabby apprentice eyed the kit with some wariness. "...Morningpaw." He said eventually. Amber eyes met yellow eyes, and the apprentice shuffled his paws. "I'm Morningpaw."

@namen_roodles (all goods! it'd be better for them to be friends as starters anyhow. also, how fast does Wildkit age? Morningpaw currently ages once a month whenever I feel like it lol)

Wildkit smiled up at the apprentice as he sat. "Nice to meet you, Morningpaw! 'Paw means you're an apprentice, right? What's that like?" The calico had almost forgotten already that Morningpaw had stepped on him. It wasn't like it was unusual for the little one to be forgotten in the background. Sure, the queens in general watched over him, but without any specific parents he was often left to his own devices.

@Dreamheart (I might do one more 2 moon jump next month instead of 1 moon, but he'll mostly be aging once a month, too!)

Morningpaw nodded. Didn't Wildkit know that? "Yes, I'm an apprentice." Hearing the toms question, he mulled over it for a bit, dark tail flicking. "Well, I think its great. I've finished a lot of my trainings already, and my mentor says I advance really fast for an apprentice. When do you become an apprentice?" He asked, trying to make small talk with the kit, Starclan knows why. Why was he even still talking.. Two friends was already enough, maybe he should just leave..

"You must be really smart, then!" Wildkit replied, nodding in a way that mimicked the elder's knowing body language. He was basically buzzing with excitement that the apprentice was talking to him. He rarely talked to anyone except for Thistlekit.

"Uhhhh..." The calico kit paused a moment to itch behind his ear, dislodging some of the moss bedding from his fur... only some. "Uhm... I don't know. When are you s'pose to become an apprentice?" He asked, eyes big as he looked up at Morningpaw. He remembered overhearing a queen talking about her kit becoming an apprentice soon... and didn't Shadowclan just have some kits named as apprentices recently? He couldn't remember. Maybe he just wasn't doing enough around camp to prove he was ready to be one.
