Mistlewhisker lead Burningnight and Sunpaw out into the territory. As they approached the watery part of the territory closer to the RiverClan border, she glanced over her shoulder. "Do either of you know how to fish?" She would be happy to teach, but if she could split them up that would be better. "Ducks are likely nearer the RiverClan border. Snakes can be found anywhere, but I will take care of finding that. I don't want someone getting bit."

last on rooks list was coltsfoot, not one of the herbs he was necesarrily familiar with, but one he had seen in one of the smaller piles when taking a peek at the herb collection mossfreckle was tending to. weird waxy looking, textured leaves, a bit greyish sometimes, and perhaps he could still identify some of them by their flowers.. it wasnt really newleaf anymore, but one could only hope. it took a bit longer to find this one, yet its fragrant, rich scent still made its way to him eventually, leading the enforcer in the right direction.

disappointing, but not unexpected, the coltsfoot looked a bit worse for wear, dryish and rather small, probably too much sun or heat or whatever, rookfire was no gardener he just collected. either way, he picked out the best looking ones, three of em, and then placed his collection of herbs down on the ground to sort them once more before seeking out roachflare and sleepysunrise to return to camp together.

Yellowtwist couldn't think of of a specific place. Dawning Woods was too bright. Darkwater Mire had murder in berry form everywhere and uh hm he was going to say palesong but she's not that stupid as far as he knew. He still decided not to go ther for whatever reason. Mourning Ruins was just a field of dead cats. Oh right there was another territory. He was already in just some random part of the territory though, so it would be pointless to walk there.

He would be sure to check with Mossfreckle or Grousepaw to see if any of the plants they picked up were useful to them. "how do you make these?"

Ratflame ran through Shadowclan territory, enjoying her moment to herself. She'd most definitely pick up some prey before heading back to camp, but for now she'd enjoy herself. Despite her plan of a relaxing run, suddenly her paw landed and sunk into a small hole, halting her in her tracks with a yelp. All at once tiny legs began crawling up her leg and she looked down with her jaw agape. Ants, ants were crawling up her leg in a monstrous horde. She tugged her paw out of the ant hill with her fur bristling. Why in starclan's name did this have to happen to her?! The feline barreled through the pine forest in search of a pond or anything.

Well all right! Seemed like everyone showed up. Hillstrider flashed his friend a reassuring smile before trotting out into the territory with Ravenheart and Gutspaw on his heels. As they made it further into the territory, Hillstrider glanced at Gutspaw. "Yo little dude. The boss lady said to make sure you got hunting training, but I heard you say you can hunt just fine. You want help or do you think you got it?" The tom genuinely wanted nothing but to help, and would leave Gutspaw alone if bite was confident in its hunting skills.

Ravenheart listened with half an ear as Hillstrider talked with his apprentice. It seemed to come easily to him, guidance and wisdom. It can for me, too, they thought, shaking the doubts from their mind. They were a Shadowclan warrior. They were worth their title, Starclan willing, and they were going to prove it time and time again. This was just the start.

For now, it was time to hunt.

A frog croaked a few paces away, and Ravenheart immediately dropped into a crouch. They made themself still, not even a whisker's twitch would escape them. The frog's scent filled their nostrils, moist and earthy. In position... wait.... and pounce!

Ravenheart caught the frog in their jaws and killed it with a swift, merciless bite.

They buried it quickly, searching about for their next bit of prey. It was soothing, being out in the wilderness, outside of camp. Camp was home, but even the walls of home could suffocate.

Gutspaw's gaze slowly dragged towards Ravenheart filled with the opposite of amusement, frown evident. Something about their words rubbed teeth the wrong way. It didn't need to prove anything. "Nothin' to brush up on when you train everyday, " it deadpanned, staring unblinking at the warrior. Fourteen moons! It didn't take a genius to figure out how to pounce.

The apprentice offered no other response, following after Hillstrider and the other. It stayed alert of its surroundings, icy irises taking in what they saw in the landscape. Its ears perked up at the sound of the patrol leader's voice, asking a question and goddammit, little dude?? Little dude??? Gutspaw grimaced, tail lashing back and forth at the comment.

".. I'm good, big man, " bite finally responded with a huff, clearly Hillstrider was unaware he was the ridiculously large cat here. Gutspaw was far from small, much less a 'little dude'. Noticing Ravenheart had disappeared to hunt, it turned away from the warrior and disappeared into the underbush.

The feline walked silently, nose twitching until it caught scent of an er, mouse - maybe. Gutspaw dropped into a crouch, trailing after the source until step out into a clearing. It breathed quietly, eyes fixated on the brown fur. Its muscles tensed before suddenly teeth launched himself at the mouse and delivered a quick killing bite.

It buried it before continuing its hunt. It would go after a frog only to end in failure and a faceful of mud.

With a groan, it wiped what it could away before continuing to search. It would take a while before Gutspaw stumbled upon the trail of a vole. It followed carefully, stomach rumbling at the idea of being able to taste its blood. Soon, it came across the creature nibbling on a piece of grass. Again, it dropped into a crouch and crept closer... and closer.

The sudden sound of a crack echoed throughout, the vole's head shooting straight up. Gutspaw immediately jumped, managing to slam a paw on its long, thin tail. It dragged the prey animal closer, wrapping its throat around its jaws as it let out a dying squeak.

Satisfied with its catches, Gutspaw would head back and unbury its mouse before returning to its patrol mates.

"Yuhh you got it man!" Hillstrider nodded, watching Gutspaw disappear into the shadows. He'd keep an ear out just to be safe. He was completely oblivious to Gutspaw's annoyance, like usual.

The warrior trotted around the territory nearby, opening his jaws to scent and catching the watery scent of frog. He grimaced, but followed it anyway. Frog was... not his favorite, but he was sure it was someone's! Hillstrider dropped to a crouch, ears swiveling this way and that as he listened for the telltale croak frogs made. He jerked his head to the side as he heard it, changing his direction and basing his hunting more on his hearing than his nose. Soon enough he spotted the slimey little creature, and with a self-assuring grin he leapt forward, landing right on the frog and killing it with his weight. Oh good, he didn't even have to bite it!

.... oh he was going to have to carry it home. Dang.

Hillstrider sighed, burying the frog and looking for something else to add to his contribution. The next scent he noticed was more warm and earthy; a nice change. Hillstrider slipped in and out of the bushes as he followed the trail, finally stumbling on two mice nibbling on some grass near some tree roots. Hillstrider figured that they were going to run right for what was probably their den under the tree if they heard him, so he was going to have to be extra sneaky.

Hillstrider stalked forward, sunny eyes burning with predator's intent until he was close enough to risk a jump. He lunged forward, but realized his fatal flaw too late. Hillstrider slammed face first into the tree, feeling the bark strip at his face in a hot wave of pain. Hillstrider yelped, stumbling back blindly as fire bloomed across his nose. Ow ow ow ow ow!! Groaning, Hillstrider brought his paw up to test his nose, hissing as it stung horribly and came back with a little bit of blood smeared on his fur. "Aw dude..." he muttered, tail flicking. "Not righteous at all..." did he at least...? Yes! Hillstrider purred despite the pain in his face as he saw two furry little bodies nearby. It looked like even though he fell forward into the tree, he had managed to snag the mice in his claws and hill them. It was... messier than his normal hunting, but prey was prey! He picked them up, heading back to his frog and grabbing that as well before meeting up with the group.

Ravenheart's eyes widened as they watched Hillstrider eat tree bark in the near distance, wincing as the blood trickled from his nose. At least he got some mice out of the deal.

He seemed... okay? Alive? At the very least, they probably didn't need to go over to check on him. They would if needed, of course, but they've only managed to catch one frog, and they seriously needed to get a move on. Ravenheart settled into a crouch, raising their nose slightly to catch the scent of prey. Waiting... waiting... aha! Another frog.

Ravenheart pounced, sinking their claws into the unsuspecting frog before killing it with a swift bite. They seemed to be on a frog-catching roll. It wasn't the most popular food in the clan. Well, more for them!

[Ravenheart gained +1 frog!]

They turned their head up as Hillstrider approached, rejoining the group, a bit scuffed up, but two mice richer.
