Mink in maw, Dapplebreeze dipped her head as she entered the nursery, dark blue hues taking a moment to adapt to the darkness. While she understood that perhaps there were more important tasks at paw for her to do as the fury lieutenant, the patched she-cat doubted the leader would much mind her doing her routine checkup of the elders of the clan. So often forgotten by the younger generation, the former queen enjoyed making certain the warriors of old were taken care of. Healthy. Loved by the clan. Batglare's stern, judgmental face enveloped her thoughts at this notion, and she couldn't help but purr in amusement. Lonesome and grumpy as he was, she was certain he would make quite the fabulous elder himself once he retired... if he wasn't too stubborn to do so when the time came, that was. Oh dear, her list of felines to watch over just seemed to grow longer every so often, didn't it?
Dropping the prey at her feet, the fluffy molly stared at the den, taking note of any upkeep required. Now that it was newleaf it was the perfect time to make sure the den's maintenance was kept up to speed. Before materials became scarce and the weather endangered the darlings within. Spotting movement by a nest, mismatched ears perked up, a pleasant, demure smile gracing her face as she stepped forward, a greeting purred in the feline's direction.
"Good evening, darling. I couldn't help but wonder if the residents of this den had been fed today? Brought a mink from the fresh kill pile. It should be large enough to share," the she-cat mewed, her voice kept even and polite as she dipped her head, nudging the prey forward in the hopes to entice her companion for a meal.
| Open to any elder or anyone hiding away here for some reason. Expect curious, polite questioning if the cat is not an elder, though. |

Duckthroat peered up from his nest and wobbled up the older Tom was happy for the company and by the looks of it said company had brought a juicy looking mink it had been a while since he had eaten a mini let alone see one for that matter usually spending his days in the elders den or nursery “Ah Dapplebreeze, good to see ya!…Looks like you brought quite the kill he chirped sitting down in front of dapplebreeze duckthroat was a lonely cat who enjoyed talking to well..anyone

The sight of the elder's peppy attitude instantly contagious, Dapplebreeze purred in proper greeting, making a move to stand and join the tom only to find Duckthroat already walking her way. A mild, concerned frown gracing her docile features, the former queen tsked lightly, shaking her head in a fond manner. Much as she appreciated the acknowledgement that the tan senior was still strong enough to move, she would have much rather brought the meal to him herself. She knew some of the elders had quite the problem with their joints... and knew even better how stubborn they were when it came to visiting the medicine cat for what ailed them. Not that she could speak much in that department, of course. Stars knew she had almost chosen death over troubling the healers herself before.
"Oh come now, my dear," she mewed affectionately, not being able to stop herself from chastising the older tom despite herself, her role as a queen never having fully left her mannerisms even after she returned to life as a warrior. "I would have been happy to join you instead! No need to walk over here. But... I will agree, it is simply delightful to see you as well, Duckthroat. Couldn't ask for better company, darling. Tell me, how has greenleaf been treating you? Between the troubles with the minks, the vultures, and RiverClan... why, I am afraid I've barely gotten a moment to check up on you all."
Dipping her head once more, Dapplebreeze nudged the mink again, placing it at a comfortable distance for the both of them to partake of the prey. Her voice, albeit warm and polite held some level of concern in it. With everything that had been happening... that had yet to happen, she wasn't certain how the care for the elders had deteriorated during these turbulent times. Of course, her worries could be for naught, with Duckthroat and the rest of the elders being healthy and with bellies filled by apprentices every night... but she couldn't help her fretting. Proud and diligent as she was, the former queen always found time to fuss about her clanmates, especially the ones that were far too young or too old to care for themselves.

Duck throat nodded he knew he was stubborn but he wanted to still do things for himself besides he was capable even with his bad leg “I’ve got it but thank youhe said while slowly tearing into the prey “Greenleafs been swell although not to many apprentices have stopped by probably busy with training I remember my days as an apprentice hard mentor I had [ he said between bites/CENTER]

The lieutenant listened to the elder in silence, respectfully nodding along to what he said even as she took note of it. Dapplebreeze wasn't certain if being busy with training was what was keeping the apprentices from doing their jobs, if she were to be honest. The WindClan molly had been keeping an eye on the training of their apprentices for many a season now. Ever since she had multiple of the youngsters fall to her paws, pleading for training that their mentors were unwilling to give them. The next generation of the clan, without education when they were starved for knowledge, wanting nothing more than knowing how to serve their clan. Now, it was true that this was not the case for every single apprentice out there, but the majority the tan and cream warrior had been eager to learn, just... many a mentor were failing them in that aspect.
And yet to hear that even with the way things had been when it came to apprentice training they were still failing their elders, the fury couldn't help but curl her whiskers with polite discontent. She would have to make a point to speak to her own apprentice about this. Perhaps darling Brightpaw would keep a close watch over the elders. Maybe even her sister as well. It would do marvels for Twistedpaw's self esteem to interact with more felines in the clan. And elders were usually so sweet, charming and caring. Once one got past the grumpy facade a few had firmly in place. She had no doubt the dark molly would be able to handle them, however. She trained under Batglare's watchful eye, and the tom was certainly not the suave, charming talker type despite his many other positive attributes.
"Well, my dear, I will see what I can do about this. I'll try to have some apprentices pop on in to at the very least maintain your nests with some proper bedding material. Nice and fresh moss for starters. If not, well I suppose I shall have to greedily keep your charming company for myself," the molly purred, blinking affectionately at the elder as she took a small bite of the prey herself.
Nightwhisper walked into the den. She flicked her fur out of her face. Then she walked over to Dapplebreeze. " You can ask my sister Flowerpaw shes in the clearing right now and she needs something to do and she would be happy to take care of whatever it is that needs to be taken care of." Nightwhisper knew her sister would love to help and elder it always been the on thing she is good at. Nightwhisper sat down waiting for Dapplebreeze to respond.
Silverfur would walk into the Elder's den and start with a brief look around, taking note of the nests, she would begin to start emptying the empty nest, putting all the old bedding to one side of the den, shortly before bringing new bedding inside. She wasn't meant to go out of camp on her own but really, it was too bothersome to be begging the other warriors for a moss patrol escort, and embarrassing at the same time.

Duckthroat-105 Moons
Duck throat smiled at dapples words he also noticed two new face hmm maybe more cats were popping in he was quite glad to have so many people in the den despite there not being to many elders he prided himself in talking.”Why thank you dapplebreeze he turned his attention to the two younger cats who were talking of getting moss he was grateful for the few who took the time to see him That moss would be appreciated along with some mouse bile if possible “he added kindly he knew the apprentices hated the stuff but he had a few ticks he couldn’t quite reach
Silverfur would flicked her tail and nodded at her "We can go out when I've finished in the den" she would reply. "I've taken most of the moss from our stores, pretty sure I got enough moss for now for these nests but should go out to gather more moss, we always need moss" she would then glance up at one of the elders and nodded as he complained of ticks, great she loved having a pelt of ticks.
She would finish off the nests and then head over to the elder. "Mouse bile? I'm sure I can go get some mouse bile for you" she would twitch her whiskers , "hopefully you've not had them long, the apprentices really should be more attentive" she would reply. She was going to have to see if any mice were on the fresh kill pile, the fresher the better really" she would then twitch her tail. "I will return shortly with it, try not to scratch it just end up getting more itchy"
