Cinderhive chuckled as she observed her two playful kits. Her mind wandered to nostalgic memories of sprinting alongside the river, feeling the breeze tousle her fur. Despite her deep love for her kits, a yearning for her past warrior life tugged at her. Her reverie was interrupted when Swallowkit meowed loudly at his sibling, prompting Cinderhive to halfheartedly scold, "Swallowkit, don't be rude to your sister!" She couldn't fault them; she had been just like them as a kit.

The beautiful black she-cat glanced around for her mate, feeling a pang of disappointment that he hadn't visited since the kitting. Pushing aside her thoughts, she resolved, 'I have two kits to raise; they will become the finest warriors in the entire clan,' she murmured to herself reassuringly.

"She started it!" Swallowkit protested at being scolded. As her sister nipped her again, she cried out an indignant, "Hey!" She batted back at her sister furiously, then turned to scramble over her mother's tail and hide. From behind Cinderhive's dark fur, she called back, "I'll be a way better warrior then you! I'm gonna catch so much fish that the fresh-kill pile will be taller than a TREE!"

Dawnkit pounced onto Swallowkit (for the fiftieth time) and slashed at her nose, her claws sheathed and her fur barely grazing Swallow’s nose. Nuh uh! I’ll be better! She rebuked, her eyes glistening in excitement and confidence. She knew she’d be a good warrior! But what if she was called to be a medicine cat.. she didn’t like blood at all. Maybe she should ask the new medicine cat to teach her herbs. Whenever there was a medicine cat.
