The adults seemed to change their tune rather quickly, and Emberkit had the sneaking suspicion it was because she and her brother were Dawnstar's children. Hmph--that made keeping her siblings in line easier, if no one was going to yell at them. Houndkit's touch had Emberkit leaning into him, nosing his cheek in a comforting gesture as he calmed from his frenzy.

The notion that the red feather and round stone were bad gifts seemed to upset Houndkit, but Emberkit stood by his claim. Mother deserved only the best of gifts, and something already used by another would not do. "You can keep." He murmured. "All yours." It seemed that the adults were on the same page on that, exhanging glances before one dipped away. Emberkit watched him go with piercing golden-grey eyes, dangerously similar to his mother's. "Thank you." They called, wanting to smooth any tensions between the kits and the dark grey cat. Making enemies in the clan was a bad idea. They needed the security of being liked on top of being the leader's children.

The brown-furred adult was now talking about secrets and good gifts, which was immediately suspicious for Emberkit. They narrowed their eyes at him, but Houndkit seemed excited. Well, she wasn't going to deny Houndkit anything else, so she supposed she could tag along. "No danger." She demanded, gaze sharp. "No lies." But Emberkit would follow as Hawkbite drew them out of the den, purposefully standing just to the side of Houndkit in case something jumped at him. Or, a more likely situation, if he decided to streak off somewhere else and cause issues.

Hawkbite would start leading the two kits to the outside of the den, his whiskers twitching at the way Emberkit reacted to the situation. She's going to be handful. He thought to himself as he started leading them to the darker area behind the Warriors' Den. It wasn't very far, but it was far enough from Dawnstar's den that he was sure they hadn't been back behind here yet. Hawkbite often came back here to eat in peace.

Sure enough, that showed when random feathers of different birds were scattered across the ground. Whatever the wind didn't take, just sat here until Hawkbite wanted to refresh his nest. "Look at all the gifts back here," The Commander gestured. Alongside the feathers, random sticks and rocks were scattered across. Not enough cats walked through this area that flowers were even poking up alongside the den and camp walls.

"I'll sit here and watch. You go get something," Hawkbite spoke, sitting down where he was. With the way Fishkit slipped out of the camp, he was going to be sure to keep an eye on these two being so close to the camp walls. No way in hell were either kitten getting away with him here.

AshStep was feeling rather cooped up after everything that has happened, they couldn't wait for the next patrol to start to they could stretch their legs, but for now they decided to rest to keep up their strength. For some reason they just couldn't sleep very well, they kept twitching in their sleep as if in a bad dream.

Houndkit stared up at Rookfire, waiting patiently for his response. A loud gasp came from him at the confirmation before a wide, toothy grin spread across his face so much his cheeks hurt. "ThanK!!!" He squealed, voice cracking as it kicked up a pitch. He swiftly scooped up the items, holding it close to him. He stared at them with a look of pure awe, tail wagging back and forth with an excitement unmatched.

The little tom seemed to be captivated by his budding collection, seemingly zoning out from all things nearby. When Houndkit looked back up again he was surprised to see the black and white tom managed to disappear. He blinked once, then twice. "Oh,," his ears flattened, looking a bit disappointed but not protesting. One less strange wildcat.

He snickered quietly to himself at Emberkit's demands to Hawkbite. He did not think the wildcats would do anything naughty, but they were awfully strange. To show his support, he turned to the large, large brown kitty and let out a loud, "YEAH!!! I BITE!!!" Teeth baring at the other with squinting eyes, truly a scary menace.

Aggression was swiftly abandoned once the wildcat led them to a special, special secret place. He set down his trinkets and started to walk around the area, peering at the gifts with round eyes. The flowers are what caught his interest first. He sniffed curiously, grabbing onto a orange-colored flower. Clearly he had a bias here.

His gaze dragged back towards Hawkbite who had taken,, a position watching them. What was with the watching?? Did he not have better things to do? Mama always had something to do. A small frown crossed his face, "Bye now," Houndkit piped up, perhaps that would make him understand. Leave!! Please!!

He returned back to what he was doing, nudging at items. He started to form piles, things such as 'very nice' 'kind of nice' 'questionable'. This did not mean this pile stayed consistent. Houndkit changed his mind often, switching things as he hummed contently. He kept the orange flower in a separate pile, his utmost favorites. Only a red and black feather would be added into said pile.
