I’m certain if you speak to Blazingstar you could probably get an apprentice in under six moons after you let him know of your intrest in mentoring an apprentice. Like with me when I told him that. He picked a kit in the nursery who’d benefit the best from me mentoring them.”

The entrance to the warriors den rustled as Rabbitfoot padded out. He stretched at the entrance, openings his mouth in a wide yawn. He sat up as he noticed a pair of amber eyes underneath a tree at the edge of the clearing. Curiously, the pale tom stalked closer, and saw a pretty She-cat sitting under the branches. He strode up to her, sitting down beside her. “H-hey,” he mewed, quieter than he expected. He began moving his front paw in strange gestures. “M-my name’s Rabbitfoot. Cause, you know, my feet are as fast as rabbits,” You rabbit-brain! He scolded himself. He knew that wasn’t why he was named that. It probably was just because it was a cool sounding name. Exactly. Just act cool. Like my name. He felt his heart flip in his chest as he glanced at the She-cat again. He just met her! He didn’t even know her name! Why did he feel like this?

The spotted she-cat watched inquisitively as Rabbitfoot approached, taking a seat alongside her umber form. Her amber orbs observed him curiously, and she gave him an amiable nod as he spoke up - he was quiet, but it was something. "Rabbitfoot," She repeated, giggling at his endearing little explanation, "It's a lovely name," She complimented, flashing pale tom an amiable smile. "I'm Fawnsplash, 'Fawn' for my spotted pelt and 'splash' for the splash of colour my eyes give my appearance." She flicked her ears, a habit she'd developed for reasons she couldn't explain. She just enjoyed flicking them whenever she felt it appropriate. "I don't believe we've met before, so it's a pleasure to," She spoke politely, her well-reserved nature on show; manners were the one thing she had had enforced on her since a young kit from both her mother and father, so they were extremely important. She disliked cats who forgot such simplistic manners such as 'please' and 'thank you'. Her amber orbs inspected the tom subconsciously, taking in his unfamiliar appearance as he sat beside her.

Grassleg flicked his ears when he heard his apprentice grunt making him raise his eyebrow and look back at him out of curiosity now seeing the cause of the noise. This made him bare his teeth a tad bit and lower his head "it's just dust, it will sting for only a few seconds. Now act like an apprentice , because right now your acting like a kit" he meowed in a annoyed tone. He turned his head back around and flicked his tail " and I will not settle for that.if you can't brave through dust in your face , you'll never be able to brave through a battle. " he added . The white feline continued to walk forward his pace now turning into a speed walk ,his nose was...in a word open for any rabbit scents that could be near by .

It was strange to him, he liked splitpaw when he was a kit,probably because he didn't need to take care of him , now he does and he was starting to slowly dislike him. But this was his chance to turn splitpaw into what he thought was a true warrior,Brave ,strong , fierce , loyal and one who knew how to do things themselves . Most mentors babied their apprentice like they were their own kits! Or it's what it looked like to him. He was taught to do things for yourself before asking for help. He guessed that was what his mentor learned how to do and his mentor before that and so on .old habits die hard ..... He suddenly stopped once he thought ,thought, that he heard tiny pawsteps that seemed to be coming from the right , he could be imagining things although he just wasn't sure. His ears were up and stiff now swiveling backwards as he tried to catch the noise again,his tail was up in the air and slowly swayed from left to right c'mon c'mon . I at least want to make this trip worth while! Maybe splitpaw heard it? "Did you hear that?" he asked sounding unsure of himself .

Splitpaw hadn't expected his mentor to be kind. He hadn't really expected much of anything. Which was fair since that's what he had gotten from his parents, nothing. They had both vanished when he was very little. For the longest time, it had just been him taking care of himself as well as the occasional queen who did a little extra something for him while they were tending to their own kits. Still, he hadn't expected his mentor to sound so harsh. The apprentice raised his head. Dust mixed with tears formed dirty streaks down his cheeks. He wasn't crying. It was just from the dust. He blinked as he struggled to clear the gritty haze from his vision, and was too preoccupied with this to notice his mentor stiffening as the white warrior listened intently around him. Splitpaw hadn't heard anything. He kept his neck on a slow swivel and suddenly, out of the grass popped what looked like two, twin brown tails. After that, there was a shuffling of dried grass and a thumping run growing more and more faint as whatever it had been got away. "That was a rabbit," he said matter of factually to himself, recognizing the ears now.

“Fawnsplash is a pretty name,” Rabbitfoot mewed shyly, “I-it suits you.” He licked a dark brown paw and ran it across his ear. “You know, y-yesterday I caught a massive rabbit. It was massive,” Rabbitfoot was a little confused about why he was talking like this. He was never shy in front of anyone.Exept Fawnsplash he thought. Ever since he was a kit, he was always outgoing. Once he tried to wrestle with Blazingstar, but luckily his mother stopped him before he reached the leaders den.

Hawkpool looked at her with a smile and a silent sigh. He didn't really feel like doing anything, but sleep when he got back to camp. "Okay let's head back now." he meowed with a flick of his tail.
