Jaystride wasn't going to pretend he understood what went down between Cindersky and Stagpaw, so he opted to intervene to stop the apprentice that was running away. Had it been clear she was fleeing, he wouldn't have bothered - but she seemed like she was looking for a place to jump in.
Haunches bunched, he sprang after her and swiped toward her back legs, intending on hooking them and bringing her down.
One of her legs flew up, her face smushed in the dirt. Pebblepaw quickly tried to stand up, crouching and flying an unsheathed claw at the attacker. She hissed lashed her tail, anger filling her. Then she saw it was a warrior, and not the smallest. Fear creeped into her heart, but she didn’t show it, her face one of anger.
A paw was felt on her head as it was pushed down into the ground. Her nose began to bleed, but she took no time in getting up. She wasn't going to let him give another move to her. Petuniafire wiped the blood away before letting out a light battle cry and launched herself at him. She attempted to try and rip fur out if his shoulder, claws trying to dig in where she had gotten before. This time she would try to slash them down as hard as she could.

Feeling claws hit her belly she pulled herself back. She was starting to get tired, but she refused to let it slow. A little bit of blood soaked the ground, but it wasn't too deep. Trying to give him no time to react she jumped around him and sent a couple of blows with her claws at his chest before trying to Bite at his neck with her long sharp fangs.

This time he wasn’t able to fight the pain as it swept over him. He let out a yelp, and was knocked backwards. The stinging in his side wounds doubled, as he struggled to stay upright. She’s too good. The panic-stricken thought raced through his mind as he tried, unsuccessfully, to jerk free. A sudden realization popped into his head. He had her at point blank. He aimed to close his jaws around her exposed shoulder.
A little scared out of her mind the older apprentice trailed after Fallownose. This was her first ever real battle. What if she did something wrong and didn't make it? No she couldn't think about that right now. Rabbitpaw blinded by fear ran at the first cat almost around her size, not feeling up to fight a cat that was way bigger than her.
// open, claw injuries are welcome, but nothing death threatening also she is is fourteen moons old and is the size of a cat that age \\
Amberbloom watched the fighting cats, claws and teeth sending yowls from the crowd. An apprentice suddenly lunged at her, and in a mix of fury and surprise she blindly clawed at the air. “Off, cretin!”

She felt herself almost winning, but her left eye caught onto him trying to bite down on her shoulder. She moved, feeling the teeth barely touch the spot. It stung, but she didn't hesitate. While she had him a bit distracted she used her weight to try and slam herself down on his body before biting and clawing at anything she could reach.

What did they just say to her? She was a tad bit confused, but kept herself focused. She dodged one of two of her blows, but one of them caught her left cheek. Blood dripped from the wound and then she felt a claw strike her chest. It bled as well. Rabbitpaw was still terrified, but she used her smaller body to try and skid underneath the warrior. If she managed she would use her claws to claw at her belly.

His jaws may as well have caught air. This Riverclan warrior was relentless. He found himself pinned under her. Her claws and teeth tearing into him as if she were some savage animal. He didn’t have time to think about where she was attacking. All he registered was the pain. Was she trying to tear him apart! He gritted his teeth. Not here! Fueled by adrenaline alone, he shoved his hind paws up into her stomach.

Paws kicked at her belly causing her to back up. There was a sharp pain her belly from the kick. This cat just wouldn't give up! She was getting tired, but didn't want to loose. Enraged she let out a loud growl that almost shook the ground. The usually sweet Riverclan warrior lunged forward, teeth bared as they tried to lock into his neck. If she got it hooked she would start shaking her head violently to give a little tear to the muscle. Petuniafire wouldn't quit until she send this cat running. Then her revenge for her aunt would be complete.

In Jaystride's eyes, the difference between RiverClan and ThunderClan were this: ThunderClan had everything to lose from not succeeding today. This was their pinnacle moment - reclaiming the land so brutally lost was a needed morale boost.
To him, failure simply wasn't an option. Unfortunately for Heronflight, no matter the damage Jaystride would not be backing down from a fight. He'd go until his last breath, and beyond the grave as needed. As he worked to get back to his paws, her claws tore through his chest and he had the added distraction of some stupid ankle-biter latching onto Jaystride's leg.
He didn't glance back to see what was going on, couldn't afford to as teeth sank into his neck. He kicked back harshly to throw Swankit aside, and then twisted himself free of Heronflight's fangs. A flash of pain exploded as his skin tore, but the heat of the moment and the adrenaline coursing through his veins kept him going. With a snarl, he ripped his claws toward her neck.

The weight was finally lifted off him and he scrambled to regain his footing. He panted as he backed up a couple paces. His opponent’s yowl honestly terrified him. His ears turned back in fright as she came lunging after him again. He took a deep breathe to ground himself. Whatever he did he wouldn’t run. This was for Thunderclan. His clan. Focusing on the memory of his clanmates united cheering for this attack he was able to ignore the pain and dodge, just barely out of her way. While her momentum was still moving forward he let out a battle cry of his own and lunged at her back legs.
