It peers around the little hiding place, thoughtful. "Okay," it says after a moment, ultimately enticed by the idea of sharing stories with Frogkit. This will be like practice for the elder's den, it thinks eagerly. With that thought lighting it up, it fixes an expectant look on Frogkit, leaning into her space. Someone's bad with boundaries.

"What stories do you have anyway? Tell me." Maggotkit demands softly, easing away from Frogkit after a moment to inspect the hiding spot a little more. Difficult for the little thing to stay still; an inherited trait.

Frogkit looked at maggotkit holding
back tears, she needed to tell her only friend
the truth. and she was going to tell the whole
story. she will speak until a kit cant speak no
more.

"Well its a long story. Ok so, I was walking
back from getting prey from the prey place,
then I saw crowtoothe talking to flowerheart.
I walked over and asked what was happening,
crowtooth told me to go away. being the stubborn
kit I am, I said no. he told me that my mom had
attacked a fellow clan mate. I yelled at crowtooth,
no bad words. then he told me flowerheart was
not my mom anymore, I was devastated. so i
followed them to the leader's den. I yelled at crowtooth
this exactly - EXCUSE ME OF MY LANGUAGE BUT
I THINK YOU SHOULD SHOVE A STICK UP UR ASS
YOU ASSHOLE. now my punishment was to stay
in here until June 25th. and my mom's punishment
was to not be seen by a kit, and she was turned from
flowerheart into flowerpaw." the kit said seriously.

It listens intently, giving up its search of the hideaway. Well. At least it knows where all that went, out in the clearing, after it had scurried off.

"Bad Frogkit," Maggotkit says. "You shouldn't say that stuff. To big cats I mean. They don't like it." It sees this as a rookie failure on Frogkit's behalf; when you act the wrong way, cats will notice and do something about it. And since kits are very little and need to be taught lots, cats notice extra.

"You don't need that kinda mom." It continues, rolling idly onto its back and staring at Frogkit from the flipped perspective. "How long'd you even know her for and how quick did she mess it all up?" It sticks its tongue out in disapproval. "Bad luck. Oh well. Kinda funny you lost two moms though. You gonna try three?"

It knows this is an awful thing to ask. It wants to see what Frogkit does about it, is all.

Maggotkit blinks, slow and serene. This is steadily growing into a situation sillier than it has the patience for. It doesn't understand Frogkit's secrecy. "I thought Morningkit was supposed to know, too," it points out carefully. Maggotkit's trying not to preen, feeling all smug and self-impotant at the fact that Frogkit wants only it to know...something?...but it doesn't want its friends yelling at one another, and Morningkit never knowing whatever it is she should have known wouldn't help that.

That mean feeling from before is back. It wonders if Frogkit needs to be yelled at, if maybe that would settle things, but it doesn't do that yet. Instead it plays clueless and looks at Frogkit with a big, dumb pout. "What'sa matter, Frogkit? Morningkit's nice. She can know stuff, too."

In the interest of dodging any world-breaking on account of Maggotkit having retroactively learned something it didn't know this late (that something being the consequences of the Frogkit, Flowerheart/paw situation), one can take their pick of what's happening: Maggotkit has either forgotten, entirely, about being told, or it's lying through its teeth to put Frogkit in an uncomfortable situation. As things stand, though, in the moment it has no interest in moving from its spot. Truthfully, it wants to stick to that 'visit the elders' plan.

@PINTO BEAN ; FROGKIT — i can set up a private thread if you'd like to keep following up on the older maggot & frog interaction there without any confusing overlap with this later interaction but i had to note for morning & frog & maggot's sake that maggot wasn't supposed to have learned about frog's consequence yet. the workaround is that it forgot it was told and/or doesn't care.
