January Gathering

Fawnsqueak had never been amazing at the socialization aspect of these things and zeroed in on the politics for something to occupy him, looking like he belonged rather than looking like a sad loser in a sea of conversation.

And it was weird. Not just.. the general weirdness of this particular gathering (that was another mystery that he intended on investigating later), but he continued to mentally adjust for spotting Sootstar in the place of the RiverClan leader where his mind ingrained attention-catching Lionstar in his golden glory. The shift allowed something of normalcy--back to the typical politically-based gatherings he'd grown up with, but he remembered those days with hesitance. Leaders at each other's throats and no end in sight to the tension.

...Yeah, okay. As fascinating as the politics were, it wasn't just the feeling of appearing out of place that had his fur rising in discomfort. He was grateful for the call to return back to the territory.

"I meant to speak to Twilightstar about this but it seems that's not possible tonight so you're my next best bet." he explained quickly, "To be quite frank - my medicine cats need training, yours have it. I would like to send one or both of them to your clan to be taught. I'm willing to make the trip over if it needs to be discussed further but that's the long and short of it."

Now that piqued the younger cat’s interest. A cave? Caves were usually dark and damp and musty, but maybe Latky’s cave was different! "Can I— I mean—" He was about to just blatantly ask to see the cave when he remembered. Oh. Secret. "Uh— if you want—, I mean, you don’t have to if you don’t—!" He stumbled, trying his best to word this in a way that didn’t sound like he wanted to just ruin Larky’s secret cave. "Is it okay if I maaaaaaybe take a peek at the cave? If you want! I can not if you don’t want. I’m sorry," he laughed nervously l, both because of his words and the anticipation of the cat’s reaction.

He heard Sootstar call, and stood up. "I guess i accidentally m... didn’t listen to the Gathering? But uh, would you...? Maybe, walk back with me?" Blue eyes attempted to meet Lark’s sea green, a sheepish smile forming on his maw.

A warm purr of amusement bubbled in Larkstripe's chest, his sea-green eyes bright, "Well of course," he chimed, "It is rather beautiful. Its quiet but...the slightest sound echoes through the whole cavern." he described, smiling fondly as he recollected the time he had spent in the solitude of the seacave.
He stood, offering Beansprout a gentle nod, "It would be my pleasure."

Medicine cat training? It wasn't exactly what he'd been expecting but to Breezefeather it sounded reasonable. They would benefit from stronger ties to Riverclan, and Riverclan would benefit from the training. And it was the correct moral thing to do as well. "It works with me at least. I would say you're free to send them over whenever you feel ready. If my eyes have been correct, then Snakepaw has already gotten into some talks with Coldamber so I think you should be good to send one of your medicine cats up. Not sure how much they can be taught in the harshness of leafbare but it should be something at least. The trip for them can be one of them or both of them, I do not mind at the moment."

Again, that went much smoother than he had accounted for. Still, he wouldn't be one to complain, especially not in this circumstance, "Very well. I'll make the trip with Sparrowskip sometime soon. I'll let you take your leave now."

Rainywhisker sighs again, glancing after Buckstar who had called his Clan to follow him home. The gray tom looks for Frostpaw, standing and stretching out after sitting for so long. "Come along," he says to the she-cat, not much caring for anything he was interrupting her out of. "It's time we went to sleep." Without waiting though, the tom moves after the leader.
