Is Blossomfall bad or good?

So I was recently chatting aruging with someone about Blossomfall being good or bad. So I made a thread about it, and copy and pasted some of my replys,

Blossomfall was being selfish about her mother ingoring her and fussing over Briarlight
I only sort of agree, but if you looked back to a moment in Omen of the Stars, when she and Ivypool came out of the tunnel, well whitewing was worried for Ivypool, and blossomfall was injured, and they had got lost, instead of caring about Blossomfall, millie stormed over to her and told her how she'd wasted time getting lost and injured and she could of been hunting. And then rushed over to Briarlight saying how Briarlight would give anything to hunt.

I just can't think the Blossomfall did anything to be ingored?? I don't see Millie glaring a Bumblestripe. I just seem to hate Millie. Millie didn't really even care about her grandchildern, she just saw them as more kits, like she sees all the rest of them. Millie had been griving for what- 3 books, and like, 20 moons?? And it was clear to see that she was a bad mother. And Briarlight didn't even point it out.

Her own mother seems to hate her, and I can't even think she deserved what came on her. She gave her mother and sister plenthy of time to grieve, and then the books show her starting to get a little jealous. Her own mother acted like she never wanted Blossomfall in the first place! I can't help myself from feeling anything but bad for her



Blossomfall trained in the dark forest
Poor Blossomfall got hit with all the cats hating her from the dark forest attack, and in Dovewing's silence, being outcasted. Blossomfall thought she belonged there for being jelous and just seemed to think that she was evil. And the Dark Forest manipulated her and others, so I don't think that makes her bad.

It's just a birthday, and nobody can help when they were born so I don't think that's a good thread.

I'm gonna say the same thing about her that I do about Ivypool. I think that deep down, they are good, but that was blinded by their anger.

She had reasons. To any of y'all "Blossomfall is evil!" peeps, please read this. How would you feel if one day your sister broke her leg. You found out that she would never be able to walk again, and would have to be in a wheelchair. You'd probably feel bad for her. But then your mom starts ignoring you, and when she does talk to you it's only either about your sister, or she's mad at you.

Now tell me that Blossomfall's evil again after reading this. @Reindeer Nightmares

Blossomfall was never bad she just had bad parents unfortunately. Millie was pretty careless about her other 2 kids and only cared about one.So was Graystripe.I think Graystripe is an amazing character but he never really bonded with his litter #2.I mean do you see him talk to Bumblestripe?or Blossomfall?Im not saying graystripe is evil.Though he could have payed more attention to his 2nd litter of children.Now back to the question.Bad parenting was at fault.Apparently. @Reindeer Nightmares

I’m just gonna say, Blossomfall was good, but she was very misunderstood, I felt sorta bad for her when Millie was treating her like crap and she was only just mourning for Briarlight.

She's good as a character, but that doesn't stop me from hating her, LOL.

She's very self absorbed and generally just unpleasant, while I don't think her character is poorly written or uninteresting, she, as a 'person', is just vain.

I feel like the Erins had a knack for writing background characters with more personality and depth than their main characters- I think Blossomfall was great.

But not a great person.

She loved her family, she wanted love from her parents. But her sibling met unfortunate circumstances early on in life, and while she cared, the way that her mother reacted set off jealousy and resentment in her. And this is normal to have as a person. I think that the way Blossomfall fell from grace was incredibly realistic: Her dear sister suddenly gets all of the attention for something that will never change. EVERYTHING in her life is suddenly invalidated in her mother's eyes, and living through her life without her mother there for her was damaging. I've been through the "your family member has it worse than you shut up" thing, so maybe I can get it easier than others.

She trained in the DF to get attention she thought she deserved. And her feelings just got worse and worse towards Millie. She became self-absorbed because she was forced to be, because her family stopped looking at her.
