Scholar gets kidnapped by guy in submarine and doesn’t want to go home but his friends make him leave.
Boy goes underground chasing after his father and finds a horrible city and tries to survive and does terribly.
Girl who breathes frost tries to escape crazy people pretending to be her aunts and eats moths.

kid dragons escape their prison and almost die (this is easy lol)
Dog finds first aid kit and travels back in time
people live underground for too long and run out of supplies
teens brutally murder each other while everyone watches (also easy lol)

(This isn't in ten words or less, but it's describing a book plot badly, so...)
A boy with nice hair accidentally goes into a ball pit while a yellow rabbit showcases a bunch of dead children.
A girl who likes fairies and a boy who walks with the shadows are siblings. One of them is fair-minded while the other screws up a lot and causes the main conflict, all while trying to hide the magical world from other people.
