"Well, that's good," Lion replied. He didn't think he would be able to stand it if Soybean had died. "I left because I was scared," the golden tom admitted. "It was a rogue and I've one before. Other loners, I can outspeed, but he was faster than me, somehow. I was scared for my life, so I ran." Lion looked at Soybean and gave a twisted smile. "Those that make me a coward?" he asked rhetorically. "I'm ten moons old. Honestly, I shouldn't be living alone in the wild. And I came back because I couldn't stand not knowing if you were alright, because if you died, then it would be my fault. I think I'm leaving. I've found somewhere to go, and I'm not sure if I'll like it, but I'll be safe. I'm not sure why I'm here anymore." @FireSandwich

Soybean sighed. “I know you're young,” he said. “And I'm sorry for calling you a coward. You were only doing what you could to survive. It's not your fault that I'm slow and weak.” He flicked his tail thoughtfully. “If you want...” He hesitated. “I could come with you. I know for a fact it can get lonely out there. And you're right. You shouldn't be living alone. Honestly? I'm lonely too.” He was glad that the young Tom had found somewhere. “Could I maybe...Come with you? I can hunt, and I can fight. I mean, not that well...but I can still fight.” He looked up at Lion hopefully. “Please. I'm just...so alone.”

And now Lion wasn't sure what to say. He wanted Soybean to come, but... "I'm joining a group of cats," he replied bluntly, "and I don't think they'll let you in. I had a friend who was part of the group, and their invitation extends to me, but I'm not sure about you. They're called ThunderClan, if you've heard of them. They own the entire forest." @FireSandwich

“Oh. I...I understand.” Soybean smiled ruefully at Lion. “Because of my leg and injuries, right? Oh well. Just...Do me a favor, ok?” He looked at Lion, finally seeing someone he could call a friend. “Don't forget about me, ok? Come visit time to time. It gets...Quiet here.”

"Forget about you?" Lion asked with a playful grin. "That won't be happening. Did you know that you're the third cat who I can call my friend?" The first was Raven and the second was Frostpaw. He wasn't sure whether or not his surrogate parent counted, seeing that he disappeared off one day. "I'll try to visit when I can," the golden tom continued. "Just... don't expect me back too soon. I'm not sure how far away I'll be." Standing up on the fence, Lion turned to Soybean. "Anything else before I go? I wanna try and get there by sundown." @FireSandwich

Normally they just leave me be, but my injuries are still taking a bit to heal.” He turned around, padding away. “See ya sometime.”
