"well I........wheres your mother?" she asked kindly tilting her head willing to be the kits adoptive mother

"My mother?" The grey-colored kit abruptly sat down. Her tail swished, drawing an angle like pattern in the dirt.

"yes all kits have one either they died,abandoned her kit,so wheres yours"she asked kindly again

“Oh!” Exclaimed Rainkit. A look of understanding crosses her tiny face. “I think she’s dead, but I’m not sure.” Clearly, this does not bother Rainkit. She seems as perky as ever.

"oh....well I can be your mother if you'd like" she said kindly licking the kits ear "I don't have any kits yet so you could be my kit......only if you want"she said,she had been wanting a kit but hasn't found a mate willing to have kits with her

“Are you sure?” Rainkit asked seriously. Her tail paused its long sweeping arcs. Her bright blue eyes met the loving older cat’s eyes. They looked like a beautiful mirror, thought the kit. Maybe she would like to see herself in those eyes more often.

“Don’t you think it would be too much work? Or you would be angry? Sometimes it doesn’t look like very much fun to be a mother.” Rainkit recalled how sometimes the queens in the nursery were angry or stressed. She shuddered.

"no no no way would I by mad at you I would love you with my life sweetie" she said curling her tail and pulling her so that there fur was touching

Rainkit smiled, scrunching her nose. She looked up into her new mother’s eyes. “Ok.” She meowed softly. And she promptly snuggle up against her. Having a mother was warm, she thought.

The kit rolled onto her stomach, kicking her paws in the air. She remembered how powerful she felt early. What was it she had wanted to climb? A tree…no that wasn’t quite right… “Can we go climb a mountain?”
