Whooo boy! Duckfrond hadn't caught a hare before--what was the difference between a rabbit and a hare? Maybe one of the wind-cats would know--and it had taken him totally by surprise when it shot out of the bushes! Luckily his speed and knowledge of the terrain helped him corner the hare in a tangle of roots and kill it. Hmph! Best hunter in the whole clan, he bet. (Not likely but he sure did love to inflate his ego). After putting the hare off to the side for later, Duckfrond continued his hunt, hoping to catch something equally as impressive.

...He did it.
He actually did it!
The tripod tom had caught his first piece of prey! He held his mouse proudly in his jaws, without any training and a missing leg! In the place he hated most no less... okay lets focus on the prey for now. The tripod medicine cat buried the mouse he had caught - he would come back for it later. Now having the smallest boost of confidence, he moved on, looking for something else he could hunt. He couldn't wait to show muddy and bumble!
