Joining the rest of his patrol, Hillstrider was much better suited to the chilly weather than his fellow hunters. His pelt was thick and fluffy, despite being short, so he had plenty of insulation. Even though the frosty ground stung his paws, he pushed through it with a smile. As everyone separated, Hillstrider swiveled his sensitive ears to and fro, trying to catch a sound alongside a scent. The sound of something scuttling in the undergrowth caught his attention just before the scent of vole hit him. Slinking along, Hillstrider snuck up on the hapless creature before pouncing and landing on it with a thud. It died swiftly, earning a trill from the warrior above it. Okie dokie, one down!

Wind whistled through the trees, tugging incesently at Hillstrider's pelt and whisking sounds and scents away from him. He clicked his tongue, humming to himself as he tried to find a less windy place to search for prey. Sitting under a bush, he managed to eek out the scent of a... frog. Great. Well, Hillstrider was hardly one to look a gift frog in the mouth! Prey was prey, after all. The little bugger wasn't hard to spot, sitting on a log like a bloated piece of moss. Hillstrider skirted around it, yellow eyes trained on the amphibian with a hunter's intensity. Lunging forward, Hillstrider managed to snag the frog in his paws and kill it. Out of the corner of his eye he caught movement, and spotted a thrush stumbling away in terror. Hillstrider canted his head in confusion, studying the clearly wounded creature. "Aw gee," he meowed, padding over to the panicked bird. "I'm sorry that happened to you, my dude." The thrush's wing was bent at an awkward angle, preventing it from getting very far. Hillstrider killed it with a bite to its neck, alleviating it of all pain. "You're gonna make someone very happy, though!" If he remembered correctly, someone had a taste for thrushes...

Picking up his prey, Hillstrider headed back to where the group had separated, ready to go.

Ravenpelt walked to the border with Shadowclan and crossed it so he was now on shadowclan territory he found a little pond and went to go catch some prey in it

Padding into the marshy part of the territory, having been brought out here for some quick training by Flytail. Rookfire was busy as usual, and though Needlepaw didn't actually require this training by any means, her typical sob story of "Woe is me, Rookfire is so busy that I've never been properly trained on how to ___" is effective enough on those who havn't heard it yet. Gotta keep up those appearances that she still deserves to be among the apprentices. After all, many parts of the warrior code only apply to warriors, so as an apprentice, she gets to enjoy much more freedom and leniency.

Disturbing the tall grass around the area, this is one of the darker parts of the territory, with plenty of croaking frogs in the area to help mask any sounds that were made. An advantage that was not required for Needlepaw, but she would take anyways. She was by no means an expert at stealth, but most of her abilities were fairly well developed. Some of them, like hunting, were as good or better than your average warrior!

Eventually coming to a small clearing, she turned to await her gracious trainer. Already, she was wondering if she could outperform him. It would be easy to exceed his expectations based on her false claims that she was untrained at stealth. But if she could get the actual drop on him... Dark thoughts began swirling in her head, but she reigned them back in. Impressing him would be enough. She had to make it look as if, despite claiming to be entirely untrained, she was a complete natural at this sort of thing. That might get some cats saying good things about her!

Flytail had received another apprentice needed training and he was going to have to whip them into shape though he had no doubt once he was done with them they would be among the elite he decided to sneak up on the apprentice as a demonstration for the skill they would be learning. Carefully he kept his paw steps light and sure as his fur layer flat he caught sight of them quickly now the easy part getting them to keep still he slowly moved towards the younger cat
