* Diego looked down at the kit and dipped his head. *
" I will not hurt your mother. "
* He made the assumption due to the she being so protective of the kit. Cardinal listened to Cricket and retreated back towards the small camp they had created. *

Cricket started to feel a little...self-conscious as she led the tom to the cave. The silence stretched between them. She didn't correct him on her being Cardinal's mother, at this point it felt like it was true. She glanced back to ensure he was still following. "It's this way a bit." She meowed curtly, turning sharply and leaping over a decaying fallen tree trunk. Pausing to wait for the tom, she took the lead again. "Got a name?" She asked, her tone still short. Was Cardinal making her soft? Why did she care what this tom's name was? Well, I can't mentally refer to him as stranger right? Sure she could! That was hare-brained!
* He followed after the she-cat and stayed close behind her. He was wary of the Cricket as well. He heard her question and dipped his head. *
" Diego, My name is Diego. "

Cricket nodded in acknowledgment, once more wondering why she bothered asking. “Cricket.” She meowed flatly, flicking her tail towards herself. She picked up her pace slightly, feeling more and more awkward the longer she was alone with Diego. She hadn’t been alone in…moons really. That just dawned on her. She’d been traveling with Notch for so long, before then they were in that group, and even now she had been with Cardinal. She wasn’t used to being away from her campmates, and it making her more edgy than usual. Which just annoyed her further, as she saw it as a weakness.
Thankfully, she noticed the top of the cave yawning in front of them. Bounding forward to close the space, she stopped several foxlengths away. She looked back for Diego, and flicked her tail towards the cave. She had no intentions of getting closer, as he had mentioned he was here to meet somecat. It still could be an ambush. “This is the cave right?” She asked.
