"I like fireflies.. They are really pretty!" he mews happily. he could talk about things for hours, He's excited. He does wonder if he will be good though! Hearing their mentor cough they stiffen up a bit. right the fire. He almost forgot. However, he forgets a lot anyway. there's just so much to remember. "The smoke did a number on you huh..?" He asked his voice slightly less energetic than he was after remembering, right , there was a fire. "I can't wait to train !" he spoke going right back to energetic "So what are we doing first again?"

Dustbunny glanced curiously as Snowybreeze and Daffodilpaw worked on digging up their roots while she worked. She finished digging up another three roots by the time the other finished. She faintly wondered if Snowybreeze's ever been interested in tunneling. He had big enough paws for the job and the patience for the work. Few cats could dig as fast or neat as a well-trained tunneler it could be learned quickly with enough training and repetition.

Daffodilpaw wasn't bad at digging either, but her paws weren't nearly as big as Snowybreeze. Even though she'd like to bug the warrior about any interest in at least learning a few more things, even if he didn't become a tunneler, she didn't want to make the bashful tom any more uncomfortable than he already was.

The way he sneezed concerned her for a second before she figured it had something to do with the plant but then she thought about how sensitive his nose was. Perhaps tunneling wouldn't be for him. He didn't seem sneezy when they were digging the trench though... Did dirt agitate his nose? Hmm, things to think about before pestering him about digging.

Dustbunny nodded her head behind the roots she held, eager to set off whenever they were.

Well Windpaw had certainly inherited some competitiveness and Littlepaw had gotten some speed in turn. Crowtooth wouldnt be able to teach them the best way to sprint, as incapable of doing any of that without wheezing for air as he was, but he'd give some tips over the course of the lesson. After all, once they were more advanced and bigger rabbit hunting was something all windclans needed to know and these two had just the form to run down even the quickest of hares.


"Alrighty yall, eyes on me! First part o' any hunt is a huntin' crouch. Just walkin' up ta prey dont work, ya need ta sneak an' it all starts wit' havin' a sneaky crouch that keeps ya hidden.


Now hunker down as low as ya can but high enough so that yer belly fur doesnt brush the grass, that'll cause noise that alerts prey. Paws shoulder length apart an' bent, feel how that makes them springy? It'll help ya leap anytime but stay low.



Then keep yer tail stretched out behind ya an' above the grass ta help ya keep balanced. Ears pinned, head low so ya can hide behind bushes or tall grass or rocks aaaaaaaaaan' boom! Ya got a huntin' crouch!


Give it a try, if I see ya doin' somethin' wrong Ill correct ya then we can try stalkin' an' pouncin'!"
This was the easy part despite the many minor technical details. Kits did play pouncing and stalking and all that on instinct all the time even before they even became apprentices, so really Crowtooth had found with a bit of refinement young cats picked up on things rather quickly.

Okay, okay, hunting crouch first. How every great hunter started. After listening to Crowtooth closely (At least, what she thought was listening closely), she instantly dropped low, head lowering, ears pinned to her head and her tail hovering just above the ground, though her belly grazed the ground below a couple times. But eventually, she was able to get it right! Or so she thought. With an expectant glint in her eyes, Windpaw turned her head to look at the Deputy, a wide smile on her face. She was doing great, right? This was the best hunting crouch she'd done! It felt more... Professional! Than the lazy crouches she did in the Nursery! Yay her!
