Riftpaw yawned as he trailed slightly behind Cobwebfern, glancing at Beaverpaw. The young medicine cat apprentice had been kind enough to volunteer to train the pair in both swimming and fishing. Admittedly, Riftpaw was very excited. He was going to learn what made a RiverClan cat a real RiverClan cat! If he recalled correctly, Cobwebfern had originally trained as a warrior apprentice- hence why she already had a full-fledged name. Not that he was one to doubt her capabilities. The young tom was just eager to get in the water. Surely this would be more successful than his battle training.

as the she-cat padded off to the first river she had thought of, she reconsidered, briefly, volunteering to teach the two apprentices. cobwebfern was good at fishing, yes, but swimming had been a bit more hard after losing her back leg. she could do it, yes, but she wasn't sure she was the best candidate for a teacher.. it was a lot of pressure. but whatever! she could probably do it.. hopefully..

cobwebfern swallowed back the doubt and flicked her ear, eyes darting around their final destination. ' right-o.. we're here! ' oh that was cringey. crap. already screwing up. okay, pull yourself together, cobwebfern. ' would you guys like to learn fishing or swimming first? we can do either.. but since it's cold, i figure it would be nice to fish first so we can get back to camp after we finish swimming and lay in the sun for a while. ' this might not be a common opinion, but cobweb was a complete hater of the cold. she much preferred it when it was nice and warm.

Okay, so water stuff.
Not something Beaverpaw's done yet, so it's good this is a thing that's happening now.
And with Riftpaw, that's a bonus.

Beaverpaw followed quietly, and stopped when Cobwebfern stopped.
"Uh, I think... yeah, fishing." He said, though still slightly unsure as he glanced toward Riftpaw to check if that's what he wanted to do first too.

Riftpaw glanced at Beaverpaw as he responded to Cobwebfern's question. "Yeah. Fishing." He agreed with a stiff nod. As they made it to the river, he looked questioningly at Cobwebfern. "Would you still learn how to fish if you started out as a medicine cat apprentice? I mean, it's not like you would be on a hunting patrol." There was no malice in his tone, just genuine curiosity. Regardless, he plopped himself down right on the riverbank. "Ready."
