alright. Now that starrypaw had arrived, they could head out. Without saying another word, the brown-and-white tom led the two apprentices out of camp. He had been in the territory many times before, and he was never particularly fond of the borders. Once he reached it, he stayed a few tail-lengths from the border before stopping, turning to the two apprentices. "I trust you two know how to mark a border?" he asked. "Now, we're gonna mark the borders, check for anything n get our asses back to camp," Antlerbranch told the two. He really did not like shadowclan.

Aspenpaw trailed behind in the Warriors footsteps, sticking close like he'd usually have been told to and casting glances back at starrypaw to make sure she was still there. Can never be too cautious when out in the territory, just this meeting Stormstar had announced a few deaths out in their very own territory. Most were caused by avoidable incidents while one was from a fox and two from hawks. Thought he liked to believed he could take on any predator he wasn't stupid enough to not know that was false and that one experienced warrior and two inexperienced apprentice wouldn't be good odds if it ever came to it.

Aspenpaw slowed down his pace as he watched antlerbranch come to a stop ahead of him. They must be at shadowclan border and he didn't need to see the trees up ahead to know it. The stench was a good giveaway too. "yeah marking borders, easy stuff" Aspenpaw replied as he came to a halt beside the warrior. He just had to do what Fadingstar had shown them that one time. Simple. Aspenpaw approached the scent line made up of jutting rocks, dead shrubs and occasionally trees or logs. The scent of pine, mud and something else immediately hit his nose, fresh enough to assume a patrol had marked these borders not long ago. That means it was unlikely that they would come across any shadowclan patrols this time. Though aspenpaw was slightly disappointed he was also relieved. Something about the idea of facing shadowclan while knowing absolutely nothing on fighting scared him. And rightfully so. He would rather not be shredded to pieces so young thank you very much.

Aspenpaw rubbed up against another nearby boulder aswell as few other things. Marking the border to the best of his ability. He was probably doing it right, it couldn't be to difficult. He cast a side long glance at the pine trees that lined the territory across the border completely blanketed the landscape in shadows. Even so far away from the dark landscape he could feel the fur along his spine stand up. It was just the unpleasant looking territory but the scent that tied with a moment in his life burned to memory. A night, unforgettable. Something he wasn't sure he'd ever get rid of, an unconscious fear.

"I think I'm done." he said hurriedly as he backed away from the border and closer to his patrol mates, the moment they were back in the heart of riverclan territory filled with the scents of his clanmates and comforting normal. The faster the were out of here the better, he hated this feeling.
