Morning Comes and Wakes the Fawn

He smiled at her, happy with the approval, before he took the mossball in his jaws again and stepped a few paces back for more space. He looked at her, eyes reflecting joy. He was just happy she’d agreed to playing.

”Alright! I’ll throw it up into the air, and we’ll both try to keep it from touching the ground!”

Fawnkit explained, optimism and helpfulness in his tone. He seemed a bit nicer than most. He was definitely more tolerant of bullies like Morningkit.

(Ahh, sorry! I forgot to respond to the OOC note in your last post- Anyways, I think that’s an amazing idea! He’ll definitely be a good friend for Morning, even if she tries to push him away)

Morningkit sighed. She had gave in, the worst thing a bully like her could do. Wait. She wasn't a bully! Why had that come across her mind? Yeah, yeah. Let's get it over with. She hissed through her teeth, and rolling her eyes. She fluffed out her fur, trying her best to seem intimidating.

Fawnkit nodded and then threw the mossball up into the air, making sure it went high up. He watched it fall, and then got ready to jump. Then he launched himself into the air and smacked it over to Morningkit.

”Your turn! Make sure it doesn’t hit the ground!”

He said, hoping she’d comply and pass it back.

Morningkit looked up, following the ball of moss across the sky. She watched as it was flung at her, and she swung her paws up to hit it, but it crashed into her face and she toppled over.

His eyes widened in concern when the mossball sent the other kit onto the ground. He immediately stopped and ran over to Morningkit, looking her over for any scratches or anything.*

”Are you okay?! I’m so sorry, I should’ve warned you sooner or hit it more lightly!”

Fawnkit said, worry evident in his voice.

Morningkit looked up, her fur prickling with embaressment. She was fine. It had bruised her ego, that was all. No thanks to you! She snapped, flicking her tail. See, this was why she didn't like games for little kits.

He almost winced at her harsh tone, but he understood. She was just a bit prideful, and he reckoned the fall had damaged her ego a bit. Maybe they could play a different game.

”I’m sorry! Do you want to play a different game? You could choose this time, if you want!”

Fawnkit suggested, grabbing the mossball with and outstretched paw. He flung it aside, and then focused his attention back onto Morningkit, smiling at her patiently.

Morningkit, who had not ever played with anyone in her life, merely shrugged. I don't know. I don't care. She mewed hastily.

He hummed in thought, looking around camp. Then, he had an idea.Maybe she’d like this next game he suggested!

”Okay, what if we played a game called Foxes and Hounds? Basically, some cat is chosen as the fox, and the other is chosen as a hound. The fox gets a head start to run away as far as they can around camp, but they have to make it obvious they were there, by snapping a twig, messing up dirt, all that stuff. Then the hound gets to hunt them down, but they have to shout every once in a while while they chase.”

Fawnkit explained, leaving little room for air. Once he was finished, he inhaled deeply, and then exhaled. He had given himself little time to breathe that entire time he was explaining the game to her.

Hmph. Morningkit twitched her tail ever so slightly, feeling like she might burst. Would this kit ever get the hint that she didn't want to play?
