[ A small orange kit lay under a bush near Riverclan's side of the bridge connecting one side of the river to the other. Beside him were two motionless, cold bodies of kits similar to him. He let out a small mew for his mother, wanting her to come back ]

Sharkhail was doing the patrol as normal before he smelt... Old milk? Suddenly the dots connected i his brain and he bolted to where the scent was. He poke his head into the bush and found... He had to hold himself from screaming out in dismay seeing motionless kits. He couldn't... His own kits... They might be like this...

"Hey the two of you, come over here now!" Sharkhail called out before he tried to pick up the still living kit.

[ The living kit kicked around and meowed in surprise. This wasn't his mom! Kidnapping! The two other kits didn't move, they couldn't anymore. The kit tried to turn his head to look up at the older cat but couldn't because of the way he was holding him ]
