Hunting in the mist (Private)

Deadmoon had been fine with either choice Mistypaw might make, but she would be lying if she claimed not to be excited about seeing what her new apprentice could do. A bit of ambition was never a bad thing, no, not at all. Sounds good to me! she purred, before looking around quickly. We're going to want to head somewhere else though, so there are more things about for you to hunt. The question was where. Perhaps it WOULD be worth it to head to the beech copse. Mistypaw would probably be able to get at least one bit of prey there, so the longer walk wouldn't be wasted.

We're going to a beech tree. she decided, shifting into a trot and then a jog as she headed over towards what looked like a short, but remarkably wide, bush. Really the tree was just in a depression of the meadow, but it was a bit of a funny sight until one got close. Stopping at the crest of the ridge, Deadmoon mewed more quietly Good luck! Go wild! She was pretty sure there was a mouse or two down there, a squirrel too if her nose wasn't deceiving her. Not that it really mattered at this point, it was up to Mistypaw. @Ome

Excited, the she-cat follows her mentor, ready to catch more prey. She grabs the mouse she had caught and steps after Deadmoon, heading towards the beech tree.

Stopping before the beech tree, Deadmoon gestured at it in as extravagant a manner as she could manage. Behold. One of the best spots for mice and whatnot, even during winter. It drops lots of beechnuts which are a bit of a task to open, so the rodents are kept busy and whatnot, so easy to sneak up on. This said, she took a few steps back. Good luck, I'm sure you'll do well! she mewed, scuttling back a bit more. There was at least a mouse or two, a chipmunk too. She almost hoped Mistypaw would have a go at the chipmunk, a bit trickier but a bit bigger and rarer too. Delicious as well, in her opinion. But it was up to Mistypaw, and the circumstances as well. @Ome

Mistypaw could smell a chipmunck nearby, her nose twitched slightly as she step forward. She quickly crouched down, her eyes scanning the area in front of her. She quickly ran forward, her claws unsheathed, ready to capture her next prey. She jumped and landed on a fluffy, chunky, chipmunk who quickly start squirming to escape. Mistypaw dugged her claws into its back, unaliving it quickly. She looked up at Deadmoon with a purr. "I did it," she meows happily.
