Birchpaw skidded to a stop beside his mentor as she delivered the fatal blow to the rabbit. His fur warmed at her praise and a purr rumbled in his throat. He had done it! His first rabbit hunt - a success! He hoped Sunburst could see him now! With a nod, he pulled the rabbit close to him. "I want to bring it back to camp for those who need it. I can always catch another later." He mewed earnestly, picking up the creature in his jaws and beginning the trek back to camp.

Heading out to the sky glade, the small calico wastes no energy on words - if they're to catch at least two-three pieces of prey each, then she would be wise to conserve what energy she can.

"Alrighty, catch what you can and remember at least two pieces of prey each!!" She chirps turning tail to start tracking and immediately scenting a field mouse. She finds it shortly after and catches it with no issue. It's a little small, though, so she should probably catch more than two things to make up for it.

She's in luck, though, as it seems theres a rabbit nearby!! She can hear it crunching in the dying grasses, and spots it a moment later. It hasn't seen her yet, so with a burst of speed, Lichenshock darts after it, giving just a second to try and scurry away before she overtakes it, killing it swiftly. Once that's dealt with, she takes a moment to assess what the rest of the patrol caught.

Quickmoon padded into the Sky Glade, looking back to see if Hollypaw and Blueclaw were following her. She glanced around for juniper bushes.

Quickmoon walked further into the Sky Glade, her eyes quickly spotting a juniper bush.

"I think I found some!" she called out, hoping Blueclaw and Hollypaw were following. She couldn't take many berries back to camp all by herself.

[please respond, this patrol is due in 4 days. this is also my first time leading a patrol so if someone could help me with the 'submitting' bit that would be awesome!]

Hollypaw had been close to the warrior, almost leading the patrol himself. He did his best not to rush ahead of her though. He peered curiously at the bush, tilting his head.

He'd never personally seen a juniper berry bush, but based on the medicine cat's description, he figured this was the berry in question. He leaned forward trying to grab one with his teeth, and managed to snag it off the bush but accidentally pierced the berry.

The second a drop hit his tongue he spat it out, his face wrinkling as the berries weird tasting juice hit his tongue. It tasted too medicinal, he turned his green gaze back to Quickmoon "How... do we bring them back to camp without accidentally ruining them?" He asked tilting his head curiously

(hey, I am aware that the patrol is due in 4 days, I was busy yesterday and was going to respond today as it's still been less than 24 hrs since the last post also if either of us doesn't respond in like 48 hrs then I'd say just skip over whoever isn't responding and report it when reporting the patrol (the character, not the rper), as for reporting the patrol I'll do research and vm you with what I find as I am leading a patrol elsewhere as well)

Quickmoon frowned, not having thought about that. "Maybe we could take a branch?" she said, trying to grab a branch with a few berries on it. It kind of worked, but it was hard to grab a branch. She managed to do so, cringing slightly as she accidentally bit a berry.

Hollypaw nodded, once more leaning towards the small spiky bush. His whiskers twitched as the leaves poked and gently scraped at his muzzle. It didn't hurt but it was annoying.

He looked down at the first branch he'd grabbed, it only held about two berries. The large Windclan apprentice let out a frustrated sigh, but didn't let it discourage him. He leaned forward again and grabbed another branch, this one had 3 more berries. He pulled it off and set it with his other branch before looking back to Quickmoon, waiting for any further instruction.

Right, so it was time to get her hunting muscles into gear. How much could she actually be able to hunt? That was to be determined. Determined by her own sheer and unkillable will! ...Listen she had to hype herself up sometimes.

"Two... Hm..." Spottedpaw muttered while she had a bigger goal in her mind. They didn't have the luxuary of being swimmers like Riverclan, who probably ate a cat-size amount of fish from that river during leafbear. That was probably a lot right? Anyways, it must be so nice to be able to not feel hungry during leafbare without any trouble, but Spottedpaw was going to put work into it!

The first thing that she scented was a rat eating something. Slowly she stalked closer to see what it was eating just in case! She was a safe distance away from being spotted but it could get away from her. What if it ate something bad? Better losing it than poisoning someone. Monitoring it showed it was eating the last blackberries from the bush. They certainly tasted weird but they went deadly. So the apprentice stalked forwards then....

POUNCE!

A rat! This thing probably could count as two? Maybe? This wasn't enough so she buried it under some dirt by the berry bush. No foxes would smell that! Moving on, the paw went to find more food. The next thing she spotted was a bright red snake. How stupid was that? You aren't a bird that gets the luxury of flying away, it would be so easy to catch it!

Swipe!

A snake! Hyped after her victory, the paw wondered more and was able to find two mice nibbling on some grass. There wasn't anything special that happened. They were just mice, they were easily obtained.

Trumphant, Spottedpaw walked to the gathering spot touting her haul!

"Let's take these back to camp." She instructed, picking up her branch with four berries. Quickmoon looked around for Blueclaw, but the cat was no where to be seen
