After the meeting was over Sunsetgleam got up, looking towards their new apprentice for a moment before looking toward the territory "I'll show you the borders first" they mewed in a friendly tone. The borders are..a little wary to be around, but that's not an excuse to never go there at all. Would that be a dumb decision..? ...they wished nothing bad would happen. They've been trusted with an apprentice and they wouldn't want to get either of them harmed in any way. There's always seems to be a bad thing happening at the randomest times. They really didn't want to meet any of the other clan's cats yet, let alone aggressive ones, especially with a newly made apprentice in tow. Let's not recreate Larkwing's injuries. With a flick of their tail warrior started to move their paws, watching their back every once in a while to make sure Duskpaw was still following them. Sunsetgleam did feel another thing following the two of them, but now they think no other cat ever feels his looming presence as well. No one ever reacts to him. No one ever acts like he's around. No one knows or will ever know about him. That's their secret. And they wouldn't know what'd happen if someone did know.... Ah..back to the topic at hand now..

Duskpaw was trying to just keep her mind off of Softkit.
This was supposed to be a good day and all that, so when Sunsetgleam said that they were taking her to see the borders, she felt a little bit internally grateful for a distraction.

She followed her mentor as soon as they started moving, quickly taking in her first time in the territory.
Lots of scents, she almost hadn't expected it.

The land became covered in undergrowth as they approach the border with Thunderclan, the river being the thing that seperates the two clans. They took their stop a few steps away from the river as they waited for a moment for Duskpaw to take in what Thunderclan's scent was like. It's...trees, really. "this is Smallpines, our border with thunderclan. Thunderclan's expertise is in climbing trees and they mostly eat land prey like squirrels and the like" every clan can eat squirrels, really, but Thunderclan just so happen to be the best at it. Sunsetgleam paused for a moment, looking over at the border. No one was there, at least not yet. That was a good sign. They took their gaze to Duskpaw again, making sure their next words would be clear "Make sure you don't cross the border, with any clan, even if there's a piece of prey or herb there that you want. Crossing the border is a risky move, especially if you meet a cat..less forgiving. Cats won't be afraid to use force if you step on their land. It's better and safer to look somewhere else" Whether or not Duskpaw knew about not crossing the border, they still wanted to make sure she remembered.

Sunsetgleam took a moment to mark the border, rubbing their pelt against the border's undergrowth on Riverclan's side. They were marking the border while also showing Duskpaw how to if she didn't know yet. Hitting two birds with one stone (why is that so cruel? Who's hitting birds with stones for fun?). "Any questions about this border?" they asked, walking back to where the two were standing

As they arrived at the border, Duskpaw listened carefully, quickly trying to memorize the scent.
She then watched Sunsetgleam mark the border.
Okay, at least she knows how to do that now.

She didn't think she had any questions.
Though...
She looked up at trees.
Some of those are really tall.
Is that even...?

"Do they actually climb trees in ThunderClan?" She blurted the question.
Because, seriously, some of those are super tall!
That can't be possible!

To be fair, Sunsetgleam doesn't know how they manage to climb either. They’ve never really learned how to climb, but there's no doubt at least 1 or 2 cats in Riverclan that knows their away around the trees. They've even been on a patrol with a former thunderclanner before when Riverclan was in the mountains. Climbing is quite literally why a lotta cats call thunderclan 'tree rats' but they're not exactly keen on saying that out loud, even when they're by themselves and no one is watching. Or hearing. They never really like insulting anyone "While I don’t know everything about life in Thunderclan, I believe apprentices there are taught how to climb and navigate the branches. I'm not sure how they manage it either. Climbing is what Thunderclan is known for, just like how Riverclan is known to swim and eat fish" they were sure there had to be at least a few cats out there just as baffled towards Riverclan's swimming and fishing habits just as much as Duskpaw was surprised to hear Thunderclan climbs. If a Thunderclan cat swims without proper training they'll..drown. Just how an inexperienced Riverclan cat would most likely fall to death if they try to climb. That was not a good thought to have now. Why did they suddenly think about that right now of all times? They quickly shoved them away (or at least shove it away as far as they can)

Duskpaw looked at the trees for another moment, before looking back at Sunsetgleam.
"That's weird." She comments "No wonder they're nicknamed squirrels."
It's just one of her usual jabs, though she hoped her next one was a little more creative.

She waited expectantly to move on, but kept any impatience to herself.
