Ashpaw looked around, trying to locate the rabbit. It’s moving, he whispered. The apprentice stood where he was, without moving. Finally, he found where the rabbit was — or at least supposedly was. Crouching in the grass, he slowly approached the rabbit.
When he was relatively close, he stopped. Checking that he was downwind of the rabbit, he took one more step forward. Then he leaped. In mid-air, he tried to put his paws at the area where the rabbit was — but still missed. The rabbit jumped away and almost escaped, but it reacted too slowly, and Ashpaw got the time to catch him. He then killed it as Daywhisper instructed.

Daywhisper had been watching the entire time, trailing him silently "That was very good! I'm impressed! I didn't even catch my first rabbit!" She praised him, purring in response.
"you need to work on your crouch a little more- It'll help with your landing but otherwise, you did wonderfully!" She said with a nod, glancing up towards the sky.
By this time, the sun was barely peaking over the horizon, she hummed softly in thought "We... should probably get back to camp before it gets too dark" She said, turning her green gaze back to her apprentice.

Ashkit was happy by his mentor compliments and smiled. He then nodded when Daywhisper told him what to change. He was really lucky to have gotten her as a mentor.
“Wha— oh, right” he answered, looking at the sky too. It was indeed starting to get late, and even though Ashpaw didn’t mind being out in the dark too much, it was more dangerous. “Yeah, better get back to camp.” he took a step then stopped. “Uhh, which way is camp again?”

She gave him a soft smile and a purr "Follow me! I know if like the back of my paw" She said with a nod, picking up her prey and nodding to Ashpaw before she began the walk back to camp.
Once back in the camp she set her prey on the pile, waiting for Ashpaw "You rest up now, perhaps tomorrow we'll work on combat" she said with a smile before dismissing him and making her way to the warriors' den to head to bed.

Ashpaw followed Daywhisper, trying to memorise the route. It would be best if, by the next well, he knew how to get back to camp starting from any place in his territory.
He nodded after his mentor told him what they would do tomorrow. He was eager to start the next day’s training. “Thanks,” he said before his mentor got to the warriors’ den. Then the apprentice also made his way back to his dens.
