Cedarstrike walked quietly with Beepaw at her side, hmm'ing. It was getting chilly... "Well I suppose now is a better time than any to begin your territory tour, huh?" The she-cat gestured to the ice creeping along the riverbank. "This river marks the boarder of our and Riverclan's respective territories. There are fish in there, but for now... I'd suggest keeping away from the bank. The ice makes it a little more dangerous and I don't want you to trip. When I come on patrols, I like to make it a point to mark our territory and strengthen our boarders, so I suggest you make a habit doing the same."
She would do so, before a scent caught her nose.
[16]
Cedarstrike's tail swished as she crouched low to the ground. "Watch me, little one..." Silently, she inched along the forest floor right towards a rat. Luckily, she went largely undetected.
[10]
Still, as she leapt for the rat, she landed on a branch concealed by fallen leaves and it snapped, spooking the rat. This didn't stop her, however, she immediately gave chase and snatched it up between her teeth last second before it dove into its burrow. Thank the stars.
Border to riverclan? Woah that was cool! Maybe he'd be hunting fish soon, what did fish taste like? Surely it didn't taste like mouse, ooh he loved a good mouse. He jumped out of his thoughts when he watched his mentor creeping up on a rat, woah! She caught it! He could do that, surely he could! Beepaw lifted his nose, trying to smell for something when a familiar scent hit his little senses. Mouse!
(Beepaw has rolled an 11)
It wasn't a bad crouch, but it wasn't great as he crept forward, eyes locked on his prize. Either he stepped on something or possibly the mouse was skittish, whatever the problem the mouse sprinted for cover. Beepaw's ears flattened and he shot forward, hoping to pull off something like his mentor had.
(Beepaw has rolled a 1... How sad.)
Instead of pulling off some ultimate totally cool warrior move, he tripped on his own paws, hitting the ground with a thud as the mouse made a get away, fox dung!

Antpaw nods his head at Willowfrost's acknowledgement, then he snorts looking at the new apprentice behind him. Mice were easy prey. They were stupid. He conveniently forgets that he was also like this four moons ago, but that doesn't matter; Antpaw feels better watching Beepaw fail.
He sniffs the air for more prey, but there's nothing he can find. Antpaw doesn't waste his time searching. A lot of time had passed, and the rest of the territory needed to be marked, and then they had to go back to camp. By the way... how was he supposed to start marking? He didn't notice any of his clanmates doing it, and he wanted to be sure not to make any mistakes. Antpaw watches Willowfrost and Cedarstrike like a hawk, waiting for them to do it first so that he doesn't let his ignorance show. Stupid Sunflowerswirl, his past mentor really taught him nothing, didn't she?
