Brindlepaw was roused from his sleep by Spiderthroat bleating about....something. In all honesty the young tom didn't know what the deputy wanted, only that he was being called to line up. Not a miracle worker? Herbs? If you're strong enough? A bit of fuzzy contemplation later, and Brindlepaw dragged himself to his paws. So Spiderthroat was going to....what? Fix up the cats here after the rat attack? The rats actually weren't the biggest issue right now, Brindlepaw would much prefer a fix for the current foggy state of his brain or the coughing or the headache or the gunk he was hacking up, but alas. He supposed getting his paw patched up was better than nothing.

He was on his feet, and he was making his way....vaguely in the direction of Spiderthroat. A bit stumbly, but he managed a straight enough track and got over there. I dunno what you've got he also had no clue what Spiderthroat would need to have but if you can....I got rat bites. From the rats. So apparently the sickness was having more effect on his mental state than he thought! Lovely! Love the mumbling! If you, uh, need me to get something I can manage that though. he added. The ounce of energy he forced into his words would hopefully convince Spiderthroat, as his rather haggard frame was unlikely to help his case for some responsibility. He hadn't exactly been grooming lately, or eating as much as he maybe ought, but he was in better shape than some other so that was enough to convince him he should be helping out.

Whoops Mudhound had kinda drifted off there! Snorting themselves to full waking from where they'd need quietly nodding off, exhausted by the days events and sickness ravaging their body the tripod looked almost startled and quickly went to reply to questions and finishing the story, hearing Spiderthroat calling.


"Uh no Olivekit as of right now even if its secret from the other clans Hollowpaw technically fills the medicine cat apprentice role so its not open. A clan only ever has two meds and we got two so if you wanna become one youre gonna have to wait untill one retires, sorry!
And Pinepaw not every med needs to do that though I think they all get their full name at the starcave still? Sweetblossom just needed to do this because she was the first."


Time to wrap up the story fast now.


"So, standing before all the starclan cats who'd held her trails and all those who came to watch Sweetblossom swore to be a medicine cat, to heal instead of harm and dedicate her to making sure her clan was well in all ways above all other duties. She laid out the first guidelines all medicine cats follow today, and for it she was renamed Sweetleaf, a proper medicine cat.


When she woke in the starcave she found only a single night had passed, despite all the events in starclan feeling as if they'd taken moons, and quickly headed back to the clan. In front of her leader she healed the sick and injured, proving herself to him and so became the official medicine cat, carving the path for all to follow behind her.


Through Sweetleaf many clanmates we mightve lost without healing remain, and so we should all pay thanks to our healers doing this difficult work and strive to help and be kind like them.


The end, now everyone you better shuffle on over to Spiderthroat for a check up! He needs to make sure we're all ok after that rat attack and how our sickness is doing."
Mudhound in particular seriously needed their paw taken care of asap.

Now getting over to Spiderthroat was the real issue here given walking was seemingly not an option anymore. It was taxing on three legs already and even sick Mudhound had BULK to carry, and with how exhausted, sore, and shaky this sickness made them moving around was increasingly just not a thing.


The hornet managed to get up and take a couple steps over to him in this case, wincing as the rat bite on their paw stung, but soon enough thumped down to a flop wheezing and coughing as they panted from the effort. A rather sad sight from the strength and endurance fighter who was known for just shaking off issues, and the tripods beaming grin was shaky as they tried to not freak out anyone who saw that.


"Hey -gasp- Spider-dude! Sick -gasp- is awful! Also -gasp- paw rat -gasp- bite hurts."
It was probably something to deal with now before it became infected, especially given how an infection on top of illness could easily be too much for a body to take at this junction, for any cat.

Mitekit peeled herself away from Mudhound satisfied with the ending of the story. Then she joined her irritated sister in line. Hopefully being a good girl would mean she would be apprenticed early, if she worked hard enough she could catch up to the rest of her apprenticed siblings in no time!

She followed Mantiskit. She felt the sickness reach her head, so her brain throbbed. She winced. Her stomach growled in protest, but her stomach felt so nauseas that anything she ate would go back out the hatch. But the story had taken her mind of it. And at least Mudhound wasn't so mad at her anymore. "So... Is this 'SpiderDad' actually Spiderthroat?" she asked. "If I can't be mentored by Bumblestar, I would want to be mentored by Spiderthroat. And to be mentored with you." As she turned away, she saw Mudhound limping around. 'I hope the rat wounds don't get infected. It will be hard for him to recover from this sickness, with rat bites healing on top of it' she though ruefully.

Wolfhive. Not someone he knew very well, but they were all in this sick hellhole, so honestly they all knew each other after being here so long. Pinepaw managed to make his way over to the Head Hornet, flopping down next to him. "Hi." he said simply. Conversation starters were crucial after all.

For once she was awake and not lying down on the ground in some sort of restless sleep. Though it appeared she was in some sort of daze, blank gaze just staring ahead of her. Her head felt too foggy for any thought to roll on through so she sat there slumped in her spot just staring ahead of herself. It was a miracle that she had the strength to sit up like she was now but here she was. Sunpaw was quick to snap out of her daze when hearing the deputy call for everyone to line up, for what she had forgotten. She blearily saw her brother going up to the calico tom, so she guessed it wasn't anything bad. With a lot more effort than she'd like to admit she got up on her paws and shuffled her way to join her sibling and the older tom.

A few hacking coughs escaped her maw as she plopped her bottom half on the ground like before. She brought up a paw to wipe away the bloody discharge that had been running out of her nose, ew. "I...got" she lost her train of thought for a moment before gaining it back a few moments later. "Bite on my paws and the icky feeling won't go 'way" why did she have to move, it was tiring to move all she felt like doing lately was sleeping. The paw hadn't even felt any kind of appetite to eat anything that was brought to the makeshift camp. Unlike her brother, when she had energy she had gone into the trouble of trying to groom herself. After all, father had gone to the trouble of trying to tidy her fur before they all got moved to this place. She wouldn't let his hard work go to waste and would not try to keep up appearances.

A sniffle. A sneeze. A weak cough or two. Honestly, Timberpaw was tired of feeling sick, but there was quite literally nothing they could do. They resigned themself to another cough, another sniffle. This was awful.

[Timberpaw is a closeted AFAB cat who uses they/them pronouns. Unless your character has been told this, they should refer to Timberpaw as she/her.]
