Strawberry kit spoke in a strange sort of manner, it reminded him a little of Snowybreeze. But he’d taken a quick liking, he couldn’t tell if she was just as socially awkward as him or not. But it put him at ease, the straightforwardness of the questions. No true malice behind them.
”W..Well it really all is down to the patch you choose to roll in”, Cottonpaw spoke carefully thinking of a way to best explain. ”S..so you have to pick a really dry patch, free from any bits of grass. With really fine dirt, nothing too clumpy and you won’t get tangled up, but never after rain or you’ll get all muddy and it’ll be too damp.” He hoped he hadn’t bombarded her with too much then.
Tufted ears twitched, swiveling in Cottonpaw's direction as he offered an explanation to her questions. Though, there was still no way she was rolling around. Right now, out in the open, at least... Regardless, Strawberrykit tucks away the information. Perhaps she'll need it later, for whatever reason.
Shifting slightly in place as a gust of wind buffets her fur, Strawberrykit frowns briefly at the sky, suddenly at a loss for ... words? Communication? Speech? What did one do now? What would Seedkit do? Her baby sister was much better at forming bonds than she was - Strawberrykit felt like a bumbling fool when trying to convey something to someone outside her family. Singular words wouldn't work. With her family, all she had to say was one or two phrases and they'd understand her perfectly. She didn't nessesarily feel comfortable enough to act as such with strangers, even if they were Clanmates.
Heck, even Cardinalkit and the rockhead twins™ could do better. For a heartbeat, she half entertained the idea of getting up and walking away again. But someone would no doubt scold her later on how rude the action was. How was it rude when she had nothing else to say? She was just saving herself the awkwardness of sitting in one place. Finally, finally, an answer popped to the forefront of her mind. Oh, she wouldn't have to retreat yet. Strawberrykit hated retreating. It was like losing against her own mind. She hated losing.
Russetpounce was sitting in the Windclan clearing, grooming himself gently with a paw. He looked up, and around camp, as his jaws parted in a large yawn. Taking a moment to continue sweeping his gaze around the camp, he assessed who all was here. The large tom was rather... bored. Which meant.... Seeing if his good ol buddy ol pal Eelfang was around. With delight, he found his eyes landed on the other warrior.
He stood, stretching his paws before him and letting out another yawn before he began to prance over, tail straight up in the air and his lips curled in a devious smile. "Eelfang! Hey! Eelfang!" He called out to the warrior as he bounded over, skidding into a stop in front of him. The black and whites toms eyes lit up gleefully as he examined the sullen warrior. Now, he knew that Eelfang probably wanted nothing to do with him, thats how it always really was. But, oh, was it just so much fun to mess with him.
Besides, Russetpounce knew how to make them pay attention.
He let out a purr, brushing his fur against Eelfangs, winding around him. "Say, I'm rather... bored. I'm sure you're bored too. Let's go hunting. And before you can say no..." He leaned in closer to him, trying to meet his eye. "Let's make it a competition."

Cottonpaw watched as the kit frowned briefly at the sky, he wondered what it was. Maybe rain oncoming? Then she asked for his name, he paused for a moment. ”W.well I’m Cottonpaw, what’s your name?” A smile crossed his maw, sheepishly as ever.
He’d stopped his rolling around in the dirt to give her his full attention. That was only polite after all, it would be nice having a friend to do it with him. Even if she was younger, that didn’t matter much to Mr Sunshine.
”Twilightstar g.gave me my name when she found me. Because of my fur colour, and my stubby t.tail of course.” Cottonpaw could barely even remember that day, so long ago now. So young and tiny, but he hadn’t exactly shot up. Cottonpaw still remained small, wiry in stature. Akin to a rabbit, the rabbits he had thought of making friends with time and time again. Anything would beat being lonely.

Eelfang He/they // Warrior // Windclan // 32 moons
---------------------------------
Eelfang had been sitting somewhat close to the warrior's den, grooming his fur with little interest in any of the surrounding cats. I mean- why would he? Socializing was always a thing his family recommended to him, but it simply wasn't in his favor at all. People are annoying; simply as.
Speaking of annoying people... Eelfang had just sat up, ready to begin grooming another part of his body before being prompted to stop by a familiar voice. His ears flatten on the spot as his lips curl into an immediate frown. Starclan forbid I be happy.
The feline leans back as Russetpounce leans in, irked and wanting out of the conversation as quickly as possible. Though, knowing Russetpouce- this was probably going to go somewhere he deliberately didn't want to be in.
Eelfang very gently pushes Russetpounce away as he rubs up against them, opening his mouth to give an immediate "no" before yet another interruption.
Competition? NOW you've caught his interest. Eelfang raises a hypothetical cat eyebrow; almost in outright suspicion.
"...What competition," he grumbles as though the question were a statement, leaning back towards Russet's face.
