Loud obnoxious snoring was the background for today as Crowtooth, fully unconscious after an absolutely insane tunneling trip then kit playtime, had passed out in the middle of the clearing. Snoring was typical for the tom, his breathing issues kinda made it a requirement, but he was especially loud as his black fur soaked up the waning fall sun, paws akimbo and belly in the air.
Course it was hard to sleep through Lightningstorms YELLING the loud little nuisance on his life so, snorting himself awake and blinking sleepily at what the commotion was about Crowtooth could be excused for not being the fastest on the uptake.
Patrols? That was ok nothing to worry about. Wolfcry? Different matter.
Refusing to get up the deputy nevertheless barked out a rough "Oi!" Shooting a stern gaze at both the medicine cat and the camp confined warrior. "Lightningstorm Wolfcry is on camp confinement until she can finish her very easy punishment an' she damn well knows it. You should know it too dummy keep track o' cats better or has yer brain finally gotten sick o' ya an' run away~
Wolfcry yer aint ta leave camp even fer a patrol even though ya bein' stick inside like this is a burden on the camp. Its the rules an' I aint lettin' ya wiggle out so unless ya got news fer me ya finished ya stay put. Yer patrol mates can go wit'out ya an' ya can think about how ya should be wit' them.
Disturbin' my nap for this mess, Lightningstorm when Im grumpy an' sleepless later Imma make this yer issue I swear."

"Four cats? We are going to mow through all the prey!" Spottedpaw chuckled. Of course she knew that they couldn't do that blah blah just joke. Though Spottedpaw was going to be happy to get out of the camp again. It had been so long of moping around and honestly-.... Now that she thought again about what was bothering her the mood of the apprentice went down again. How could she forget so easily.
Hollypaw • He / Him • Windclan apprentice • 7+ moons
The Windclan apprentice smiled widely, dipping his head in a polite greeting to Quickmoon "Hey Quickmoon!" He said enthusiastically. He then looked around as they waited for Blueclaw, relieved when he finally showed up. That meant they could leave.
He was practically bouncing with excitement as he gave Blueclaw a friendly nod "Hello Blueclaw!" He called out before the tom had actually made it to the group.
Once he was with them Hollypaw's bright green gaze fell on Quickmoon "Does that mean we can go now?" He asked.
Maggotpaw is heaving and puffing by the time it makes it back to camp from Sergewater Valley, bright-eyed and bouncy and coated in the nastiest stink. The scrawny little cat is a mess, thin coat mussed slime and mud and debris, and it looks positively over the moon with itself. The mess at their shared border with Riverclan had the strangest, most interesting, most divine kind of reek that Maggotpaw has ever encountered; how could they not go rolling in it?
"Hey look. Look." Maggotpaw hauls a fish forward. It's already missing a few chunks courtesy of whatever had left that other smell on the bank ('''Otter'''? They hardly know 'er!), but it's a prize that Maggotpaw is very proud to bring home. They're sure that Whisperinghive and Sunnypurr—who Maggotpaw assumes must be close by—grabbed some of the fresher ones, but this is the one that Maggotpaw wanted to bring home.
"I hunted this." It decides on the blatant lie after a brief moment of consideration. "Crowtooth, Whisperinghive drank up the whole entire river and he wouldn't put it back so now there's dead-fish all over the border place just like this. Also a Riverclan cat jumped on Sunnypurr and then climbed inside their fur and started walking around. So if you see Sunnypurr that's actually a Riverclan cat, okay? So it's okay if you hit him and bite him. It's actually good and you should do those things. Also you have to eat this dead-fish because it's crowfood so that means it's for you." They're going to sit here and jabber away until an older, more responsible cat intervenes to set the record straight.

Whisperinghive
A 12-16 moon old tom with marigold-orange fur, dull green eyes, and a thin scar running from below his left eye down his muzzle to his nose. Purrks: Killer Aptitude T1 Survival Instincts Just a Scratch [ACTIVE]
Whisperinghive felt like throwing up. This stench was horrid, it tasted worse, and he had no idea how Crowtooth would react to them bringing back fish. His head snapped to Maggotpaw as they started talking to Crowtooth about something like drinking the river and cats walking around in someone's fur before walking over and setting his fish to the side. "I apologize on Maggotpaw's behalf." He started, not wanting either of them to get in trouble for this. "It knows its not supposed to act like this and spin tales, and I will talk to it about this." Whisperinghive continued, his ears twitching slightly. This apprentice was exhausting, and Whisperinghive didn't know if he'd be able to continue this without snapping at the apprentice. The warrior knew it was wrong, and there's no excuse for that.
| Lightningstorm | 23 Moons - WindClan Medicine Cat Flock Together [Tier 3] - Active | Mind Reader - Active | Dreamwalker - Inactive | Katty Krueger - Inactive
The medicine cat had just finished handing out patrols when Crowtooth, who had been doing his best impersonation of a fully dead opossum - if one ignored that hellish racket he called snoring - in the clearing woke up, evidently bothered by something. Quirking a brow in confusion, the she-cat remained quiet for once, admittedly curious about what had crawled up his arse and died this time around. While the two of them enjoyed playfully swatting at each other with words, it had always been just that. Play. They didn't mess with each other when actual work had to be done, not unless there was a level of tension that some humor might help alleviate before it got out of paw. So his need to interject in her patrols was unprecedented at best.
It took him no time to let her know what was up, and Lightningstorm frowned, trying to remember when the tom had mentioned the molly's punishment to her. Stars, ever since the fire, she had been a mess. The lack of sleep was getting to her, as well as the feeling of dread that was threatening to overcome her ever since- With a violent shake of her head, she erased the thoughts from her mind. This was precisely why she was loosing this battle, innit? She had to simply be herself. Focus on her job. Or at least try.
"Is tha' right, love? You're gonna have to forgive me. Sleep's been a proper mess for the clan ever since the fire, which obviously you know. What with apparently being one of the sleepless victims around here. Not sure what's up, but cats keep hearing the strangled calls of half dead opossums all over the camp after the inferno. They say it comes from the warriors' den, but whenever we go in to investigate all we find is a bloody fart squirrel snoozing the night away while the rest of us bleed our ears out with the racket. I fear for the minds of all of WindClan at this point, really," the herbalist mewed, eyes big and innocent as she blinked up at him, whiskers quivering with amusement despite her best attempts otherwise.
Eyes twinkling with mischief, Lightningstorm turned to Wolfcry, tilting her head curiously at the warrior. She could honestly not remember what it was the warrior had done, a nagging feeling in the back of her mind telling her she ought to know this easily enough. But she hadn't been kidding about the lack of sleep. In all honesty, however, three cats weren't entirely required for the patrol. She had moss. She had only wanted to acquire some more before the frost took care of most of it. If the she-cat had done something to merit sitting out the patrol, then at least the wiry framed molly was grateful it hadn't been one of the more urgent ones.
"Sorry for the call then, love. I won't take more of your time. Best get on to that punishment. This one's not known for his mercy when he hasn't had his beauty sleep. Stars know he needs it," she purred before turning around to call for Wolfcry's patrolmates to keep them updated, noticing neither one of them had really bothered to even begin getting ready at this point despite the commotion the deputy and her were making. "Stormfur! Palepaw! Feel free to head on out without Wolfcry. I reckon' you both should be fine without a third."
Not a moment after she had called out to the other two WindClanners had passed before she offered her friend a cheeky smirk, her tail twitching devilishly. "Be grateful I still have you on nest rest, you overgrown dust mite. Otherwise it would have been your arse out there replacing Wolfcry for all the sleepless nights you've been giving us. Honestly..." Lightningstorm scoffed, rolling her eyes humorously before pointedly turning around, half to further tease the tom, half thinking it might not be a terrible idea to fix up to storage to begin teaching Rabbitpaw how to dry herbs once this new batch arrived.
My, she was awfully late again, wasn't she? Time seemed to evade her all the more these days, and Silverrose couldn't say she fancied it. Despite her often sour mood, the silver feline shot Lightningstorm an albeit, brief apologetic smile before her gaze turned to Lightningpaw. "I do apologise for my tardiness."
She dipped her head; admitting her wrong doings was a part of growing up. Funny to say at her age. She flicked an ear, rememorising the description provided she had just barely caught on to: downy looking leaves with serrated edges, and a home to spiders as it appears. A nod had shown her understanding, a part of her wondering if this leaf-bare awaited many casualties if Lightningstorm required a herb with such a grim use. Lest the plant be useful elsewhere; hopefully. Though she understood being prepared and found fault within many of her clanmates, she would rather not be burying the dead any time soon.
Removing the slight grimace from her features, she turned to the apprentice she had grown somewhat acquainted with. It seemed her own apprentice had yet to appear. "Barleypaw!"
Silverrose called again over her shoulder, before her ear flicked. "We'll wait just a moment more before our departure."
[ @/Alchemist Kitsune @Lightningpaw666 @Witchy Madelaine - Apologies for the late post! I'll be moving them directly to the grove hopefully by tomorrow, and have already asked for an extension to be safe ]
Rabbitfur led Sneezepaw back, dipping his head to Crowtooth before setting down his prey at his paws.
+1 mouse, +2 thrush
"I apologize for the delay Crowtooth! We had a successful hunt." He mewed, looking over his shoulder and casting a proud smile at his apprentice. "Sneezepaw has good instincts. This was his first time hunting and he caught two prey!" He purred. Turning his deep amber gaze back to his deputy, he dipped his head again. "Would you like us to go ahead and add these to the pile now?"
Sneezepaw followed their mentor back to camp with a cheerful skip in their step, carrying their own prey in their jaw. Not bad for their first try, right? Not bad...
So the apprentice came with their mentor to Crowtooth. When Rabbitfur complimented their instincts, Sneezepaw opened their mouth to give affirmation, only to nearly drop the prey they were holding. Oops, forgot about those for a heartbeat. In any case, they elected to nod enthusiastically instead as they went to place their prey alongside their mentor's.
Ooooh that was a nice haul, Crowtooth was pleased. Giving a crooked smile the toms purred lightly, nodding at the duo. "Good work ya'll go ahead an' drop that off an' take a rest. Nice job especially Sneezepaw, we need more good hunters like ya."

If Crowtooths eyebrow got any higher it might fly off of his face. Few cats were bold enough to lie to a deputy's face, much less so outrageously but like hell he was going to let it fly, ears pinned and glaring at Maggotpaw. "Im assuming none o' that actually occurred Whisperin'hive? Though I am curious how ya got those fish. Yer not takin' that shredded one Maggotpaw got in so on top o' that talk wit' him (that ya better have 'cuz next time he does this he's gettin' proper punishment) ya can 'ave him bury that outside o' camp.
Get the rest in storage, I suppose someone will eat it in the end." Seriously what the hell was going on at the riverclan border for that haul, Whisperinghive owed him a proper report asap.
[Remember to submit a prey store addition asap chaosbringer]

With every patrol success, there was the failures. Tail lashing Crowtooth growled, barking out a "Twigleg! Owlpaw! Get over here now! Ya failed in yer patrol an' I am NOT happy!"
