Benji {A small black kitten with a yellow blue eyes}
His heart felt hollow. He didn't even know how long he had been waiting at that curb. Questions bubbled up inside him with no hope for answers. This is impossible. Hopeless tears soon started to slip out. All he could do was sit and let the tears slowly drip out. Was this his life now? Alone and sad. To tiny to be able to hunt and too tired to survive. Reality was starting to set in. Benji didn't want to be alone but maybe it was for the best. He obviously wasn't lovable enough to want to keep around. His heart started to shatter into a million pieces. If he had been able to apologize for all the wrong he had done, maybe they would have let him stay? Deep down he knew that wouldn't have worked besides he didn't even know what he did wrong. Why am I so useless? Despair swallowed him.
Was he just going to give up here? No. What if they forgot where they left me? yes that must be it! He tried his best to cry out to every car that passed. They needed to know he was there. They might've been able to take him home. He wailed for so long and so loud his voice grew hoarse and eventually all he could muster were brokenhearted tears. Tears that hurt more than his throat.

Wish had been hunting for Oynx and Killer in the forest when she heard it, a pitiful series of choked cries, heart wrenching and rather concerning to the lithe silver molly. Her ears perk up and she buries the swallow she had caught just a bit earlier near the roots of a knarled tree before rushing off towards the faint sound. Of course, if she wore with someone more sensible, then she probably would've warned her to think before rushing off like that and to consider what is the cause of the distressed cries- but this is unfortunately not the case. She's completely on her own, besides her kits who are still sleeping in the clearing, she made sure they were carefully tucked under a bush just in case, though it still makes her quite on edge to be away from them. As she continues to follow the cries, the sounds grow a bit louder before she stops completely as she sees a heartbreaking sight. A little black kitten sitting all alone, its trembling figure shaking with sobs.
Wish, for a moment, just stares in shock before practically sprinting to the little kit's side. She scoops him up without a second thought, he can't possibly last too much longer on his own and it's not like she's one that thinks her decisions through very well before putting them into action. After getting the poor dear away from the thunderpath, she gently sets him down just inside the forest, resting her fluffy tail over him as she peers at him with concerned golden hues.
"Are you alright sweetheart? Why were you all alone, and so close to the thunderpath no less? It's dangerous to be so close to the monsters, you could've been hurt!" She exclaims, her expression stricken with worry.

Benji
{A small black kitten with a yellow blue eyes}
He barely managed to choke out the words "They left me" before his throat gave out. His whole body was shaking from his pure distress. He didn't even fully realize she was there. Confusion and hurt had taken control of his senses. Everything hurt, but her warmth comforted him. He strangely recognized this feeling. It was almost something primal? a word bubbled up into his brain almost spilling out. Mom. He couldn't have remembered his mother, but he knew this is what she had felt like. Was that why he felt so safe with her? Still shivering and crying he curled himself deep into her fur. Her warmth was the only thing that eased his pain, and he wasn't going to let it go any time soon. After a moment seemingly of unrelenting tears his exhaustion overcame him, and he slipped into a fitful sleep.

Wish
Wish's gaze softens as the little kit buries himself in her pelt, falling fast asleep in her fur. After a moment of this arrangement, Wish makes up her mind. She may not know the details of what happened to him and she may not even know his name, but it's not like she'll just leave him here. She'll just... take him back to the clearing amd get the story later, if he has parents he needs to get back to then she'll just take him back to them. Probably- that is, if she doesn't get too attached to the little guy, he's really already giving soft spot vibes.
She gently picks him up again by the scruff and starts heading back to camp, she's feeling a bit paranoid about leaving the kits alone so long so she wants to get back quickly. She'll just have to come back for the swallow later, her mouth is full at the moment. When they reach the clearing,
she pads over to the bush and sets the kit down, curling herself around him so they're just under the shrub. Wish licks his soft fur and wraps her fluffy tail around him, hoping to warm him up.

Benji {A small black kitten with a yellow blue eyes}
He blinked his eyes open. His surroundings were unfamiliar, and panic started to set in. Where am I? He started to get up when the events of the day before came back to him. His breath was almost knocked out of him, so he plopped down again. The small kitten just sat there thinking about it. He didn't cry or wail he just sat. Replaying it in his head. Eventually he got to the nice cat who helped him. She was so nice. He rose to his feet and started to look around for her.

Wish
Wish yawns as she makes her way back to the temporary camp, the swallow she'd previously buried and a plump mouse in her jaws. A lot is on her mind, her kits, possible predictors in the area is a reoccurring worry of hers, Talka... his loss has definitely run through thoughts often, and not to mention the little black kitten she found by the side of the thunderpath. She sighs, life has been all too complicated lately, but she's gotten by so far, perhaps just barely, but she and her little family are surviving. Her rhythmic foot falls are the only sound to be heard, other than the rustle of the grass as her paws brush over each blade and the gentle howling of the wind as it streams through the canopy of leaves above her. The silver and white she's slim form stretches with each stride, her steps fueled by her desire to get back to her kits. She wonders, is the little guy up yet? When she left the clearing, he had still been enveloped in a peaceful slumber. She figured if she was quick, she could get the little one some prey before he wakes up.
Soon she reaches the clearing, the sun warming her pelt as the tree canopy thins and illuminating the temporary camp. As soon as she enters however, her eyes immediately lock on the little black kit she found yesterday, sitting up and most definitely not asleep. So she quickly pads over, smiling behind the feathers and fur.
"Mph meh thm, mm!" She mumbles incoherently before setting the mouthful of prey down next to the bush, turning her beaming face to the little guy, "Are you feeling okay? Can you tell me what happened? Aww, are you hungry? Or do you want cuddles? Ah! You're too cute, I want cuddles!"
She nuzzles him gently, before sitting down in front of him, tilting her head to the side in concern and sincerity.

Her affection made him feel uncomfortable. Memories of his old family came flooding back to him. He didn't want to think about them. The condition of his throat made it hard for him to talk, but she had to know his name. He closed his eyes and barely managed to squeak out his name "I'm.... Benji." Introductions were very important at least that's what the neighbor's cat had always said. Sadness shot through him as he remembered the old cat. Will he be sad now that I'm gone? If my family didn't miss me, I doubt he would. His throat didn't even hurt anymore it just felt numb like the rest of him. The little black kitten hoped his smile would be enough to convince her that he wasn't in any pain. He didn't want to hurt her feelings by refusing the cuddles. He actually loved cuddles, but right now it just felt wrong? He couldn't tell why. It was confusing. Why was everything so difficult? It hurt to talk. It hurt to think. So he just kind of sat there.

Wish
Wish looks down at the little guy, now known to be Benji, with pity and warmth. She's seen plenty of fake smiles before, and this one definitely fits the definition. She sighs and lowers her head to be eye-level with him, raising an eyebrow slightly. Kits can be so stubborn at times.
"There's no point in faking happiness hun, if you're sad, that's okay. Just cry. You don't have to smile all the time, stars, I'll tell you now that it doesn't help you in the end," She says gently, recollections of her relationship with Talka making her shiver slightly, she was so very niavé, "Just... wait here for a moment and try to eat some food, I'll be right back."
She gives Benji a reassuring little smile before quickly dashing back into the forest. Once past the line of trees, she quickly gathers some moss, all that's left now is to quickly soak it in the river. As she does this she hums to herself, a tune her mother used to sing to her as a kit, she just has to stay positive. If she's positive, then perhaps the optimism will cancel out all the bad memories. Starclan, her fur is bristling at just the thought of how she used to be, yeah... never doing that again! She shakes her head and starts heading back, the dripping-wet moss carefully held between her jaws. When she reaches the clearing, she drops the moss in front of Benji, nudging it closer to him with her nose.
"Drink up, your throat must hurt from crying so loudly yesterday." She says, her voice bubbly but comforting.

He gave a confused look to the prey in front of him. Was this food? Shrugging he took a small bite of it. It tasted dull, but good. His eyes sparked a bit. Food had never tasted this good. Despite the taste he only ate a little bit of it. His attention turned toward the moss. He took an awkward sip of the moss as she instructed. The water felt good on his aching throat, but another wave of sadness hit him. Small tears slowly dripped down his face. He positioned himself to be able to lean on Wish. It all felt wrong except for her warmth. "Can... I Stay? He barely croaked out the question. He just wanted to be wanted.
