Slypaw sat by the apprentices den. He'd been watching Sunflowerpaw from afar for a while now. He watched the young she-cat, trying to work up the courage to talk to her. C'mon Slypaw, you can do this, He thought as he stood up and hesitantly walked over to Sunflowerpaw and put on a smile. "Hey, you're Sunflowerpaw right?" He said, trying his best to sound friendly but the words came out with a menacing tone.

Sunflowerpaw had been resting in her nest whenever she heard a voice above her. Lifting her head, the massive golden-and-cream mackerel tabby yawned and rubbed her eyes with a forepaw before setting them on the tom who had spoken to her.

´´Oh, hello! Yes, that´s me,´´ Sunflowerpaw didn´t seem bothered by Slypaw´s menacing tone of voice at all. Pushing herself into a sitting position, she wrapped her tail around her paws. ´´You´re Slypaw, correct?´´

Slypaw watched as the she-cat sat, quickly looking away once he realized he was staring. He awkwardly sat down, his tail flicking anxiously. "Yep, that's me," he said, glancing back at the she-cat before nervously averting his gaze. C'mon Slypaw, it's only a simple conversation. You can do this. Just breathe... he told himself. "So uh... How's your training goin'?"

At Slypaw´s question, Sunflowerpaw´s ears twitched. Violetfreckle hadn´t been training her recently, and the apprentice was debating whether or not to tell Bumblestar and request a reassignment to another warrior. ´´It could be better,´´ The she-cat admitted. ´´Violetfreckle´s great, but...´´

Slypaw looked up at the she-cat. He was small, even for his age. "Somethin' the matter with 'er?" he asked, curiously. Was yet another one of the warriors forgetting they have an apprentice? he thought.

Sunflowerpaw frowned at her denmate's next question. ´´No, no! Of course not!´´ Her ears twitched, eyes flicking down to her paws. ´´She just hasn't been taking me out like she should be. I understand that she's busy and all, but...shouldn't she make room to train me?´´ The golden-and-cream apprentice's frown deepened, her ears lowering. ´´I might request a reassignment from Bumblestar, but I'm afraid that I'll get Violetfreckle in trouble with her.´´

Slypaw thought for a moment. "If she can't train 'er apprentice she's pro'lly too busy to be a mentor in the first place," he looked at Sunflowerpaw, seeing her frown he sputtered out something else "'Course you could give 'er more time," And let yourself get even more behind on your training, he decided to keep that thought to himself.

´´Yes, but..´´ Sunflowerpaw´s voice trailed off, her tail tip twitching anxiously. ´´...I could be wasting my time, waiting for Violetfreckle to take me out for training. I am three moons older than you, Slypaw. If she keeps going on at this rate, you´ll be made a warrior before I am.´´

"Well, if ya ask me," he said, glancing at the she-cat "You should talk to 'er first, remind 'er she has ta train ya. And if she doesn't or does but forgets again or somethin', then go to miss Bumblestar with the matter." He hoped the advice would help. He half expected her to yell at him, telling him she didn't need a useless- no he's mixing her up with his father. She wouldn't say stuff like that... would she?
