Cricket nodded and purred, flicking Cardinal's ear with the tip of her tail. "That's right! Good job!" She purred. "Mice will feel your pawsteps before they hear you or scent you. So keeping your pawsteps silent is critical." She explained. Cricket bend her head and nosed the mouse closer to Cardinal. "Hungry?"

* Cardinal shook his head and lifted his nose to the air. He caught scent of another cat and stiffened his fear not letting him speak. He shook where he stood. Meanwhile Diego padded through the undergrowth with relative ease. He heard a cat and stopped he listened for anything else and then started to pad in the direction of the sound. *

Cricket tensed when she saw Cardinal tremble. She opened her mouth to taste the air and noticed…another cat scent! Shit! Cricket crouched down, casting a glance at Cardinal that willed him to be quiet, before creeping off into the undergrowth. It wasn’t too long before the cat walked in front of where she was hiding. She didn’t recognize him, so that was good and she relaxed a little. But still…not knowing who he was or what he wanted…she couldn’t take any chances.

Cricket leapt out from where she was hiding, landing in front of the tom. Pelt bushed out, she faced her potential opponent. Hoping that her visual ferocity will discourage him from picking a fight. “Who are you?” She growled, ears pinned back and lips drawn in a snarl. She’d fight if she had to, but ultimately it would be better to avoid it. Notch wasn’t here, and he was the one between the two of them with any knowledge in treating wounds. Still… I will protect Cardinal! No matter what!

* Cardinal watched Cricket run off to find the other cat and shrunk down in fear. He wanted to follow her. He went against his better judgment and followed after her. Diego halted when a cat jumped out in front of him. His gaze and posture was not one of dark intent. *
" Sorry miss, I did not know this was someone's territory. I was trying to find someone to give some directions towards a certain cave near here. "

Directions to some cave huh? Cricket eyed this stranger carefully. Sure she knew the cave, they'd been living in this area for a while. Cricket noticed Cardinal's presence, but mentally willed him to stay away. She pretended not to notice him, hoping to keep this other cat from noticing too. Her tail lashed as she considered the situation carefully. This cat was taking care not to present himself as a threat. Her ears returned to a more neutral position. "Why are you looking for the cave?" She asked through narrowed eyes, still in a fight-ready position.

* Diego peered at the she carefully and was suspicious as to why she was so ready to fight. He peered over her shoulder and spotted the kit. He nodded his head and looked back to the she. *
" I was meant to meet a friend there a bit ago, but I got lost. "
