As Stormstar´s muzzle rested against her head, Primroseadder gave her leader a respectful lick on her good shoulder before pulling back, her emerald eyes glittering. ´´Thank you, Stormstar.´´
The newly named warrior turned to look at Adderstrike, her former mentor, as well as the cat that Primroseadder was named after. She gently butted the brown-and-cream tabby on the shoulder with her head in a playful yet respectful manner.
Adder...? PrimroseAdder?? Adderstrike was in such shock at the name choice she froze for a few moments before shouting out. "Primroseadder! Primroseadder! Primroseadder!" She didn't care if she was being too loud at the moment all she could think about was her special apprentice, and how she was just like her, now an Adder. Did she pick that name out herself and kept it a secret? This is what she wanted to believe as it warmed her heart more than a fire ever could.
When Primroseadder came over and gave her a head bump, a purr escaped as a result. She debated on a friendly lick or head bump, and settled on returning a head bump. Adderstrike felt so honored.
Then Stormstar's words finally made Adderstrike focus again. She got back mid sentence so she hadn't an idea what was going on but a kit name Applekit. Go Applekit?
Then it was time for name changes. Adderstrike could understand where this cat was coming from. She heard what this cat did and watched as Larkstar kicked the cat out of the clan for good. She would consider a renaming herself after that. Perhaps with that otter and the otter attacks, queens would avoid the name otter for awhile.

Wow. Apprenticehood.It feels so..
Fawnpaw couldn’t explain the feeling.
Her heart beat unusually fast.
The apprentice almost stood there,
staring at her mentor. “Me too.”
Then came the loud voice
of Stormstar yet again.Not
long after came chants of
a new warrior. She turned
her head, joining in with
the chants quietly. ”Primroseadder! Primroseadder!”
But, Magpiekit..Shed have no
time for her..
Then came another chant. A
new name? Shed never seen
a ceremony like that before! “Ferretnose! Ferretnose!”
She awkwardly stared at the
two cats, her tail flicking.

Most of he thing happening in this meeting wasn't exactly anything Soaringpaw wouldn't be surprised of. But even if her face didn't show much, the warrior ceremony did take her interest. Because she wanted that as well. She knew she still has a long way to go, and much work to do, but to think that maybe, that could be her someday.. But what if she died before she earned a warrior name? Before she made any sort of impact? She’d be forgotten as just another dead cat who just so happen to be Riverclan. Her first chance in the outskirts, she lost her memories, and possibly anyone else along with it. Then she got a second chance to prove herself after joining Riverclan. The chances of her avoiding harm again are too low. Agility and independence? Were she any of those things? She’s not independent yet, she still relied on the clan to guide her and teach her what she needs and wants to.
Soaringpaw was slightly caught up in her own thoughts but she did hear a name change did occur. She didn’t even know they could do that. That means most cats are content with their names. Even some with more questionable names. Cough cough, Brokenstream. Who named a kit 'Broken' she might never know. Soaringpaw didn’t know who the hell is 'Ottersplash' either but it probably shouldn’t matter to her than 'bad mean cat that is probably not around anymore, at least not in Riverclan (which means Riverclan probably had no use for Ottersplash anymore)' Urgh..that was a perfect description of what Soaringpaw aims to not be. Ottersplash, and an Otter fight. Both of which have already cleared up. History always repeats in one way or another, even in the most ridiculous form of repetition
Oh um hi? I’m breezepaw and um it’s nice to meet you! Can um we start patrolling or hunting or um fighting? Rainfur taught me a little bit so um I know how to hunt… ooh watch this.. *puffs out fur so he looks full grown* Rainfur said that this is a good move for apprentices! Ya know since we’re so small! Ooh I can’t wait until momma rainfur has my sibs!
(Rainfur is his mom and his old mentor)
Irisfrost
Irisfrost's tail twitched with amusement as Breezepaw came towards her, bursting with excitement and requests. "After the meeting," she told her. "Have you learnt anything yet?" She didn't want to teach him things he already knew; maybe she would go over them with him, but not until he learnt the other skills.
She watched as the white tom puffed out his fur. "Yes, Rainfur is correct. That makes you seem bigger and more intimidating, which is a good tactic as it may cause your enemy to second-guess themselves and not fight as well." Maybe he didn't need the explanation, but the knowledge wouldn't hurt. "Now we touch noses," she told him.
After they had exchanged the gesture, Irisfrost turned her attention back to Stormstar as she performed a warrior ceremony. She didn't know Primrosepaw well, but cheered anyway as she received her full name. "Primroseadder! Primroseadder!"
Next was news of a kit joining RiverClan, then a warrior getting a name change. When was the last time one of those had been done? Her mind briefly searched for the answer, but she let the question fall away as Stormstar started the chant. "Ferretnose! Ferretnose!"
She stuck her tongue out upon her mother’s offer of sleeping. That was so boooorrrinnnnggggg. Well—that was unless she could drag new cats in her dreams! Perhaps meet strangers from other clans…but how would she? She simply willed her mother in cause she knew the cat, with a stranger would she possibly home? Perhaps think of a cats name that she heard? She’d have to test that all out. “I wanted t’ see what was happening!” she purred, looking up at her mom with wide, excited eyes as she rubbed up against the queens legs. “Mama, am I special?” she questioned, finally taking a seat in front of her mother and leaning her head back to see the she’s face. She tried her best not to fall backwards…who knew.

If one could turn the sun into one cat, then Turtlepaw would certainly be that cat. She gave her daughter a cheeky smile and roll of her eyes. Of course, sleep was for the weak in Turtlepaw's mind, much to Swanberry's disappointment. Her life would certainly be easier if all her kits just liked to sleep day in and day out. But oh how boring her life would be.
She leaned down to draw a quick lick between her kits ears, she smile curving her maw. "Ah, yes. Of course you didn't." She mewed, her low voice laced with a chuckle. The queen remained still as her daughter shuffled between her legs before craning her next to look at her.
The strawberry blonde queen placed a paw behind her kit, to soften their fall if they did stumble. She met her following words with a kind smile. "Why wouldn't you be? You're practically a miracle." Considering that a good amount of her litter were stillborns (a fact that never failed to make her nauseous), all the kits that did survive were her own personal blessings. And Turtlekit had quite the ability, so she couldn't deny that her kit had something unique about her.
The queen then lifted her head,d lips parting to chant the names as Stormstar had. "Primroseadder! Primroseadder! Ferretnose! Ferretnose!" If Swanberry could recall correctly, Primroseadder got her namesake from Adderstrike, her mentor. She thought it was a nice homage.

Marigoldpaw sat in the clearing, her paws neatly positioned in front of her, boney frame swaying from side to side as Stormstar carried on with announcements, cheering when necessary. It was nice to know that Primrosepa--- ah, Primroseadder, had gotten her warrior name, and a really cool one at that. Primroseadder? It sounded so nice but also like something really threatening? Marigoldpaw couldn't really put a paw on it... But her name led her to think about her own. Maybe Goldfish would have some suggestions? Ooo, ooo! Or Aspenpaw!
She actually saw Aspenpaw in the crowd of cats huddled around in the clearing, but even a quick glance was enough for her to know if would be best not to intrude. Aspenpaw deserved to have his moment. Though, she would've given him a look for bothering a... Maybe former Lionheart?... But Stormstar handled it, which was all good with her. Marigoldpaw was never really good at asserting authority, unfortunately for her. She was just good at observing things.

Floodsight ✦ RiverClan | 23 moons | Mind Reader ; Beefed Up T3 ; empty slot
"Haha, of course. Never have been a big fan of drowning myself." She greeted him with a small purr, and gave both Rainpaw and Ravenpaw a warm smile. Floodsight's soft voice echoed back with a light hearted tone, joking under subtle exhausted look. Though it wasn't much different than the normal her anyways.
"Yet, we somehow did. A couple of times trying to get swimming right." She'd continued, giving her friend a small playful nudge. The long days of training certainly paid off and her friend could be consider one of the best swimmers in RiverClan if Floodsight do say so herself. She'd learned a lot during her apprentice days, tossing ideas back and forth, practicing till dusk and feeling of getting things right the first time was undeniably one of the best feelings. "Indeed, look at us now. It felt so long ago, yet at the same time. It feels like it was just yesterday."
As tired as she was, seeing the ever so happy Brokenstream certainly lit up her day. And Rainpaw, Ravenpaw...She hadn't seen them in a while. Ever since coming back to to the rightful RiverClan territory, they must've been quite busy with catching up on their missed training. "Hope you two have been well. Learning lots, no?"
"Sorry about all the reassignments. Sedgeflake is a seasoned warrior, he should be able to teach you lots." Floodsight gave Rainpaw a small nudge encouragingly. "If not, Brokenstream and I are always here to help."
Floodsight smiled with a sideway glance at Brokenstream. 'Dragging you into more work~'
Before she had any chance to say more, a familiar voice had peeped up from the crowd. Without looking, she already knew it was her apprentice, Aspenpaw. She hadn't seen him since the last time; a failure of a training session, but it was also a learning experience for her. With the back and forth between several cats and picking up on other apprentice's training she'd realized something major. Criticism. Aspenpaw didn't work quite well with that, and she'll have to play around it in another way. But one step at a time, she'll get this right.
Floodsight gentle frame gazed upon the little one, who came to her to apologize? Apologize? Had the little one had consumed something bad? Aspenpaw and apologies never meshed and she'd never expected it to. With wide blue eyes, she'd listened to what the little one had to say. It sounded like the current reassignments had gotten him shaken up a little.
She was glad he figured himself out and glad he knew what went wrong. Whether he's able to fix it will come later. But a small spark of hope lit inside Floodsight. I think it'll be alright.
Instead of lingering on the trembling apology by Aspenpaw, Floodsight pushed the past away and decided to focus on the present. She placed her paw on his shoulders softly. "Seems like you've grown up since the last time I saw you. Battle training, tomorrow?"
[ sorry for the late reply. this one was a long one :') ]

Brokenstream purred in response to Floodsight, feigning annoyance when she nudged him playfully. "I'd say now that we're some of the strongest swimmers in RiverClan!" He boasted to the silver she-cat with a wink. He glanced back down at Ravenpaw and Rainpaw, gaze thoughtful. "Yes. I miss it sometimes, don't you? The two of us used to get into all sorts of predicaments it felt like." The bengal said with a laugh, headbutting Floodsight's shoulder affectionately. He gave a small nod of greeting as her apprentice, Aspenpaw, came up to her.
As Stormstar continued to speak, the Lionheart chanted the new names. "Primroseadder! Ferretnose! Primroseadder! Ferretnose!"

Brokenstream is RiverClan’s Head Lionheart - If You Need Him, Mention Me
As the chanting started to die down for both of the cats and their new names, the RiverClan leader once again lifted her tail to quiet the crowd down as she moved on. "Gonna start bringin' this meetin' to a close with some more somber news. You might've noticed a few absenses from our ranks - Featherbreeze was exiled for her negligence towards her own kit 'n blatant lack of care towards RiverClan, 'n Ospreydart was exiled for his willin'ness to help her out." While she had only caught him at the border, his friendly exchanges with the cat he had brought to her den to have exiled was all the confirmation Stormstar needed to exile him. "If you see either of 'em, they're to be chased off."
Exiles done and out of the way, it was time for the least favorite part of announcements; deaths. Ignoring the growing pain in her shoulder, Stormstar cleared her throat. "We've also lost some cats. Catfishwhisker was killed by the foxes that were taken care of already, 'n Weepin'paw was found by Berryshine - looks like whatever illness he was sufferin' from wasn't anythin' that could be healed." She knew Berries was still young and didn't know everything, but something told Stormstar that if there had been a way for the medicine cat to save the 'paw, she would've.
As much as the grief wrapped its way around her heart, so too did frustration. "I was also told that he was spotted goin' for a walk out by himself, but the cat who saw him didn't think to inform anyone, so let me remind you; apprentices are not allowed outside of camp, 'n if you see somethin' like that - especially a cat that's been gettin' treatment from our medicine cats - you need to tell somebody. I don't care if it's me, or Owls, or another Lionheart. This could've been avoided if we had known 'n gone out after him." Stormstar wasn't too sure how much of that was actual truth, but it still left her frustrated all the same with how it had all played out.
"...Sweetsap was also found dead out in the territory, 'n like Weepin'paw has been buried at Seagrass Fields. She went out despite her kits bein' almost here, 'n drowned in the river..." Stars, that was a lot of death huh? "Startin' now, queens who're expectin' kits are not allowed out in the territory by themselves, 'specially if they're close to kittin'. It's dangerous 'n reckless, 'n there's no need for it. If you wanna go out, you'll need at least one warrior with you." Her voice was hard with a certain edge to it, and she knew some of the queens might try complaining, but honestly the leader wasn't going to budge on this one.
"Bluekit 'n Frozenkit were also taken by... a hawk. Not sure how the hell one even got to camp considerin' how close we are to Lionsbeach, but I want all cats vigilant for a bit until I'm able to see if there's a nest of sorts that needs clearin' out." Two kits who could've had a very long future ahead of them - gone, just like that. It made Stormstar clench her jaw in frustration, her tail whipping once behind her. She let the silence fall, a time to mourn those who had passed...
That was about it - oh, yeah. "'Fore I wrap this meetin' up two more things; I wanna remind our warriors that we've got a whole den for you - no need to be sleepin' in the middle of camp, or out in front of my den. If you wanna be a lump on a log instead of a warrior 'n sleep in the middle of camp, I've got no problem puttin' you back as a 'paw until you learn the dens all over again." Stormstar swept her tail behind her as she lifted her head, hoping that it would put a stop to random cats just napping in the middle of a clearing when they had a hole den to do it in. "'N second, since we have a new gravesite, we'll be lettin' go of Sleepy Thicket. 'M workin' on... movin' the graves over now. But as of right now it's no longer RiverClan's territory. I know the other three Clan's stuck their noses everywhere, 'n I don't want grieving cats with their guards down to be targets." She knew she'd get backlash for this, but it needed to be done. For the good of the Clan's future. "Meetin's dismissed."
With one last look over the cats gathered Stormstar started to descend down the stone pathway, stopping briefly at her den before heading down into the clearing. Maybe it was about time she get her shoulder checked out...
Hearing news of death was never a fun time but it made Adderstrike look over to her new apprentice in worry. He would never hear a fox or a hawk coming... She could feel her heart in her throat thinking about something so terrible. This only meant that she was going to have to make sure to train him up as well as possible. Something to give him a fighting chance in this cruel world. Training was going to have to happen as soon as possible and while she was at that, learning how to communicate with Drizzlepaw wouldn't be a bad idea.
Also... Why were cats sleeping exposed to the elements?
