ShadowClan Clearing

Yarrowkit lifted her head when Black-kit called "brother", and narrowed her eyes when her gaze fell on Mimickit. Him. Her rival. Mimickit and her were both runts in their litter, and he was always getting special treatment as the only boy. Yarrowkit viewed him as her only true rival amongst her littermates. Part of her hoped he'd stay over there, but another part of her hoped he'd join in so she could put him in his place. She wasn't sure which scenario would best.

Canopykit didn't like the Nursery all that much. Sure, he was surrounded by tons of kits who would love to be his friend, but sometimes it was too much. He just needed a break. Besides, he wasn't a very social cat. He would rather have someone walk up to him rather than he walk up to them. It was easier that way. But currently, all the kits were occupied. No one would walk up to him like that, not that he wanted anyone to, anyway. The kit got up from his space in the nest and padded out of the Nursery with a swish of his tail.

As Canopykit lingered right outside of the Nursery, praying to StarClan he didn't look as awkward as he felt, he spotted a couple of cats he recognised. He didn't remember them by names, of course, he was better with faces, but it was calming nontheless to know that he already knew some faces in the Clan. Perhaps places outside of the Nursery wouldn't be as intimidating as Canopykit'd originally thought. There were a lot of cats he didn't recognise, but there was still plenty he did. But then again, they were the more known cats around the Clan. It was hard not to know them.

One cat in particular, however, caught his attention. The medicine cat. Or rather, the medicine cat apprentice. He was still sure the brown cat was the current medicine cat. Canopykit narrowed his eyes, attempting to remember the dark-furred feline's name. Crow... Something? No, was it Rock? Rook? Hm, yeah, Rook sounded about right. Rook what now? Rookfur? Rook... Uh...

The orange kit found himself frowning at his ability - or rather, his lack of ability to remember names. Ugh, was this usually that hard? Whatever, he'd find out himself. But oh. Wait. That'd mean he'd have to walk up to Rooksomething himself, and that was not on his 2024 Bingo card what he was looking forward to doing. Uuuuuuughhh. What if he doesn't like that Canopykit approached him? What if he suddenly lost all his words and couldn't speak and just awkwardly stood? What a nightmare..
Though there was a war raging on in the little kit's mind, his body said otherwise. He began moving towards the much larger cat, his body moving on autopilot.

Okay Canopykit, you can do this. It isn't that hard.

Canopykit neared Rooksomething with a light wave of his tail. He smiled warmly at the medicine cat apprentice and said a quick "Hello.".
... Pause...
"Sorry if I'm bothering you or anything but umm, I don't... Really uhh remember your name? ... Umm... Yeah, just trying to get to know others and thought I'd start with someone I can't even remember the name of, heh." Oh, how he hated how those words came out of his mouth. But he kept a neutral face, with a slight hint of a smile.

Smoketail purred at her. "Well....will you be my mate?" the white tom smiled, his black tail swishing in the air happily behind him.

Goldenwhisker's eyes widened and she nodded. Yes, of course! She purred, and her gaze saddened for a split second. Maybe they would have kits? She didn't really care for the kits that she had had with Darkfire. They had seemed to forgotten who their mother was.

Smoketail purred at Goldenwhisker. His dream was coming true....he didn't think that the cat he loved most in the world would love him back and agree to be his mate. His eyes lit up and he stood up, letting out a big whoop. He then suddenly composed himself. "Oh! I got an apprentice!" he smiled happily. He wanted to share the good news with his new mate.

Smoketail smiled. "Duskpaw." He said, his gaze the shifted around the clearing then back at his mate.

Goldenwhisker nodded. That's cool... She gazed nervously around the clearing.

Smoketail saw that his mate was slightly nervous. "What is wrong?" he asked softly.

Nothing...Just... Goldenwhisker didn't have a clue what she fretted about...It just felt like someone was out there, watching her every move.
