[training] i'm the narrator and this is just the prologue

Coyotepaw was so so SO very close to becoming a warrior, all he needed at this point was some combat pointers and then his assessment and then FINALLY he would have true freedom- Well, at least when the lockdown was finally over.

He sighed as he rose to his paws, exiting the apprentice's den, his eyes squinting against what light did make its way into the Shadowclan camp. A yawn escaped his maw as he stretched, before straightening up and looking around camp, wondering if his mentor was around.

The Shadowclan apprentice padded farther into the camp clearing, his eyes finally adjusting. Wow- It was busy around here with no one being allowed out. He knew his mentor's pelt, for the most part, but among the sea of Shadowclan warriors, he could not pick out Spiritrain. They let out a soft sigh, their tail twitching with annoyance.

The large cat had never been very fond of crowds, it was always too loud when a bunch of cats gathered. Even at gatherings and clan meetings, he tended to stick to himself and only spoke if spoken to first.

Spiritrain had been doing, well, not much.
He'd much rather be doing something, though.

With a stretch, he looked around to see what to do.
At the moment, he was pretty separated from the other cats, having never really been a big fan of crowds.

As he looked, he spotted Coyotepaw.
Hm, he should probably train him again.
So, Spiritrain got up and walked over to the apprentice.

Coyotepaw's attention turned to his mentor's pawsteps, a smile crossing his maw as he greeted him with a friendly nod "Hey Spiritrain" She said rising to his paws "Are we going to train?" He asked tilting his head.

The large apprentice stretched once more before his gaze once more fell onto Spirit "I've been wondering if you'd teach me some cool battle moves" They said with a toothy grin.

Spiritrain nodded.
"Sure." He replied simply "Follow me."

He decided, due to the current lockdown(again), they would just train in a more secluded part of camp.
So, that's where Spiritrain would lead Coyotepaw.

Wormpaw was SO bored. His training was going well but being cooped up in camp was driving it crazy. The smoky black tom had occasionally listened to the cats around it when he heard Coyotepaw's voice among the other Shadowclan cats.

The younger apprentice raised a brow as he looked over, noting Coyotepaw and his mentor. Right now, as far as Wormpaw knew he and Coy were still close, this was only sort of the case though.

He cleared his throat before making his way over, he flashed a charming smile in Spiritrain's direction before looking back toward Coyotepaw "Coooys, how's it going? is this your mentor? He seems cool!" He said, looking back to Spiritrain.

He'd heard Coyote ask for some combat lessons and went off that "You guys are working on combat? Would you mind if I tag along?- I haven't gotten much combat training done yet" he admitted with a sheepish smile, his ears drooping slightly.

Coyotepaw narrowed their eyes as they watched Worm stride over. Great, this guy. Yes, they were friends, but Coyote was starting to wonder if he felt something more for the smaller apprentice.

The Shadowclan apprentice flinched, shooting a glare in Wormpaw's direction at the nickname. Worm had started calling him that lately, they didn't know why but they also didn't like it. It felt like something you'd call a kit who'd just had a nightmare.

"Hey, uh-..." He paused, Worm's bombardment of questions swirling through his head as he tried to string together a straight answer after a second Coyote continued "...Wormpaw. It's been fine- yes, this is my mentor, Spiritrain"

He turned to his mentor, giving a nod "This is my... friend... Wormpaw." He said as in introduction, watching Wormpaw enthusiastically wave a paw at Spiritrain in greeting. He sighed, eyes still narrowed as he looked between Wormpaw and his mentor.

Spiritrain watched Wormpaw come up and listened to both he and Coyotepaw speak.
"You can join if would like to." He said "Nice to meet you."

He then walked over to the isolated part of camp he had thought of before, ready to begin.

The black and white tom nodded "Thank you!" He said before bounding off behind Spiritrain, pretending not to notice Coyote glaring at him. He always seemed to be like that, whether he hated you or not. It was often offputting, but Wormpaw knew he wasn't all teeth and anger.

He sat by Spiritrain, waiting for Coyote to get there so they could start their lesson. He felt a bit awkward, hoping Coyote would have been quicker to join them. He didn't show it though, trying to keep a cool and calm demeanor.

Coyotepaw glared Worm down as it and Spiritrain padded away from them. The large apprentice took a deep breath before finally following the other two toms.

He wasn't sure how he felt training with Worm, what if he messed something up and Worm never let him live it down? He didn't want that and the idea made him nauseous.

The rosette tabby tom sat, ignoring Worm and looking directly at their mentor, silently waiting for instruction.
