Dawnstar watches lazily as her clan gathers below her. She glowered softly picking out her rugrats, the muddy one in particular. No matter how hard she tried, Houndkit refused to stay clean for no more than five seconds. This impulse to clean him was going to bother her the entire meeting. Bleedingpaw's rosette pelt stood out among the rest of her clanmates. She was glad he seemed to be in better spirits and bothering one of her kits.

"Icekit, Fishkit, Muddykit, Bramblekit, and Deadkit come and sit below the Grimpeak for your apprentice ceremonies." She orders, with a lash of her tail. Her amber eyes sought out the paws ready for their warrior ceremonies. Unfortunately, Pondpaw was currently in trouble. Willowpaw, Dawnstar had yet to speak with Owltalon regarding the she-cat's mental capability. As for Gutspaw and Quietpaw...

Gutspaw had fared and completed its job with Briarsplash well enough for her to deem the apprentice fit for a warrior ceremony, about time. She didn't know about her granddaughter since the Enforcer hadn't given her a report. Oh, and thinking about one granddaughter she almost forgot that Birdpaw was also ready for her ceremony.

ShadowClan could have had five new warriors! Irritated with the thought, Dawnstar would hold off on doing the warrior ceremonies till later.

Huh? Her? Really? Icekit looked around the clearing as if there was another Icekit Dawnstar may have been talking about. Nope. Only one Icekit in ShadowClan. Hesitantly, she stepped out of the Nursery, and towards the rest of the cats already gathered around, though keeping a safe distance from them. She didn't want to get trapped in a conversation she didn't want to be in.

Muddykit could hardly contain herself as she bounded up, preparing to finally become and apprentice. She had been waiting for this for MOONS! Her whole body visibly twitched with her excitement.

Bramblekit blinked, was it that time already? Where was his sister? He trotted forward quietly, a silent air of confidence about him. Though his expression revealed nothing, his eyes couldn't completely contain his excitement.

Embercloud, Hemlockleaf, Yarrowkit, Deerkit, and Stempaw all also gathered for the meeting.

The top of the cedar crowded the entrance to the elder's den, its leaves swaying in the breeze though its branches stayed still, unmoved by the large, brown silhouette stalking away from its grasp.

Despite his age, the elder paced through the clearing with a knowing grace, soundlessly moving to the back of the camp to sit in his usual spot: obediently facing the Grimpeak, but sitting behind his clanmates. The tom already knew what this meeting was for, even before Dawnstar announced it. Icekit, Bramblekit, Deadkit, Fishkit, and Muddykit were becoming apprentices.

As a warrior it was his role to know about other's lives, and his skill to remember that information well, but usually that was reserved for other clan cats. Now, as an elder, Mudburr instead observes his clanmates lives, knowing of their daily activities, aspirations, and the many secrets they may keep. Though all information will remain in his mind, unless someone ever requests to hear it.

The elder's prickly chin rubbed against his neck while he yawned, whiskers twitching in anticipation as his green eyes travelled among the soon-to-be apprentices and their potential mentors.

Sunspot glanced up at Dawnstar, quietly finding a place to sit. He hadn't realized that the kits were ready to be apprentices, but he knew they were probably very excited. He glanced around the clearing, looking at his clanmates.
