☘︎ Pebblesplash was following her daily routine. She always liked routines because it kept everything organized. Organization was her favorite thing, other than hunting in the river. She enjoyed seeing structure once again in RiverClan. Looking around camp, however, she notices that someone had already completed one of her daily tasks, and thus, it left her with a large window with nothing to do… She could move her hunt ahead, but she enjoyed hunting at dusk in the forested areas of the territory, as it gave her better luck to find mice and other forest prey that other River canners weren’t as skilled at catching. So, with nothing to do, she decided to work on her social game. It wasn’t often she spoke to others, not because she didn’t want to, but because she allowed herself to get more busy. After a recent chat in the leaders den, however, she’d need to alter her routine slightly to allow focus on other things that are more important to her. Looking around camp once again, she spots Seabreeze. He was sitting alone from what she could see, and hadn’t really gotten to chat with him much after her return to the river. She decides to collect a mouse from the fresh kill pile and carry it over, as she believes food is something everyone can be civil over.

☘︎ “Good morning, Seabreeze. I saw this nice minnow in the fresh kill pile, and I don’t want to hog a meal to myself. Mind sharing with me? It’s not much but I’m sure it will feed the both of us,” She wanted to make sure the queens, elders and kits had food before she indulged in a feast, thus, she was fine with sharing with someone she didn’t know well. She doesn’t step much closer, waiting for an answer rather than just assuming that he’d say yes.

”Pebblesplash… uhh, sure.” He looked up to a… stranger’s face. Though she wasn’t really a stranger, not like countless others who he didn’t even recognize. He knew this cat, Pebblesplash, the one that rised from the dead rather than his sister. Though what does that even matter. Perhaps it’s the stars blindness and it has nothing to do with Pebblesplash. “How’re you?.”

The former lionheart stayed where he was laying down, though patted the space in front of him to show that she can sit down here. Why was it that she randomly wanted to share a meal with him? Was she mad about his behavior towards here? Thought that was moons ago. Perhaps it’s to ask after his demotion. Or the otter fight. His shoulders stung at the reminder of the encounter, not quite fully healed yet. “Any particular reason you wanted to chat?”

☘︎ So she sat down, pushing the mouse over so he’d eat first. She believed that she should eat last because she was older. She thought it was proper etiquette to let those younger than her eat first, and that’s exactly what she would do. Regardless what was left over, she’d be just fine with scraps. Pebblesplash could always just go hunting later and share with someone else. “I’ve been fine, taking it a little too slow since my return, but I think I found a role I can excel at within the clan,” she didn’t put much detail within this idea, thus leaving questions about what she meant. She begins grooming herself, as she waits for Seabreeze to eat his share. He seemed like he needed it.

☘︎ “Too be honest with you, Seabreeze, seeing you up close right now, you don’t seem to be doing that well…” She paused, realizing that this may not be a thing she should be speaking about, as she wasn’t close to Seabreeze whatsoever. They were simply just clanmates eating breakfast, and thus, it wasn’t really any of her business about what he was experiencing. Even so, that motherly instinct within her needed to make sure that her younger clanmate was doing alright, and so, she decided to give a little check in. With her next words, her voice softens. “I’ll be brief with my worries, as we aren’t all that close… Are you taking care of yourself Seabreeze? Are you ating, drinking water, sleeping well? Are you getting out of camp, not for your duties, but for your own enjoyment…?”

☘︎ She turned to him. There was a brief silence before she spoke again. “I’m sorry, you don’t need to answer any of that. It’s not really my business at all,” she looks down at her paws then back at him. “But seriously, when was the last time you just went out of camp… like… for fun…?” Her head tilted.

Seabreeze couldn’t say that he expected a therapy session when he agreed to eat some food with Pebblesplash, it was especially strange considering that they don’t know each other well and their only interactions have been negative ( mostly. ) And as such, it took him a moment to process what she was saying… man he really must be awful. Blue eyes glanced away from the older warrior. A role for her? Wouldn’t that be more interesting to talk about than touchy geeky things that Seabreeze didn’t want toy talk about. Though eventually he sighed.

Talking with Stormstar and Berryshine helped, though they were people he knew well enough… what if Pebblesplash just wanted to use against him. He glanced at her again. “I’ve been getting by…. Uhh no. I haven’t done really anything fun lately.” He chose to ignore the self care questions, and shifted slightly as thought to try and cover the way his pelt didn’t fully hide his ribs anymore.

☘︎ “Then I suppose I can ignore my routine for the rest of the day,” The idea of ignoring her routine made her worried, but there was something much more important to worry about… The wellbeing of her clan mate mattered to her, and that would be her focus for the day. Her tail flicked, and she looked at the younger warrior again. “Finish up breakfast, you and I are going to go out today. The leaf fall scenery is beautiful this year, and I’m not letting you miss it,” Pebblesplash smiles. A smile says that her intentions are 100% pure but of course, because they don’t know each other well, it’s hard to say for certain what is going on inside her head. “Look, I know you don’t exactly know me that well, but you’re a great warrior, and I’d hate to see someone lose themselves the way I did. When I was at my worst, I forgot to enjoy the little things while I had them. You’re young, Seabreeze, and your life is far from over…”

”Wha… why would you disregard your-” In hindsight maybe that change of course for both of their days would’ve been more obvious given the conversation… maybe. He gave an awkward smile, as though he thought she was joking at first because they were strangers and there was no reason for her to be being serious. Though, perhaps she was a mind reader, because she addresses this.

“…sure. We can do that.” Mostly because Pebblesplash seemed to be so earnest and genuine about it, it almost felt wrong to say no, or maybe it was some sort of higher being compelling him to take this feline’s paw. He sighed and lowered his head after glancing to the other warrior once more, then ate his portion of the meal swiftly before pushing it towards Pebblesplash. He stood up, and stretched, waiting, albeit awkwardly for Pebblesplash to eat and for them to… just… take a walk.

☘︎ She ate quickly, and I mean very quickly, almost so fast that she seemed to have choked on her meal. To be honest, Pebblesplash never went out in the mornings, so she was excited to be seeing the way the morning sun interacted with the leaf fall scenery. Leaf fall was only her second favorite season, as she always found herself loving the gorgeous warm colors. Not only that, during the earlier moons of leaf fall, hunting was quite easy as animals began changing their patterns, and more fish filled the river. She eats until there is nothing but bone left on the prey she had chosen to indulge in, seeming happy at her ability to be resourceful and not waste the meal she had been blessed with.

☘︎ “Delicious. Mice really hit the spot, right?” Although it seemed she asked a question, she didn’t leave nearly enough time for a response, as she stretched and continued to speak. She was really an introverts nightmare. “Let’s get going, I have a particular place I’d love to visit. The sleepy thicket is full of trees. I bet it looks lovely even with the… strange history surrounding it.” She begins walking, continuing to speak whatever is on her mind. “You know about the history, right? Some say that there is an evil spirit there… or somethin like that, not really too sure. Although I can’t seem to understand why a spirit would linger instead of going to Starclan or the dark forest. Seems pretty funny to me. Maybe they have some unfinished business,” did she just talk about anything at this point? I mean, thank the stars she wasn’t being mushy with the emotions, but whatever she was on about seemed to be absolute nonsense. She was excellent at distracting others, that’s for sure.

Seabreeze padded after the rambling she, explaining that they were going to Sleepy Thicket of all places because of course they were. He hasn’t liked the place since… the grave moving. Since he lost his sister because Stormstar- He sighed, not allowing himself to grow angry over the thought that he lost his sister to death and another time to her grave being moved… and he didn’t know where she is now. He doesn’t know. No one knows where anyone is anymore. They have displaced families and siblings and friends and mates and partners… for the better they said. He doesn’t see it that way. He focused on what Pebblesplash was saying though, “Maybe something didn’t let them. They were never laid to rest.”
