Dear starclan windclan had a lotta kittens. Crowtooth was nearly five years old, not a small age for a wild cat, and he'd never seen the clan have this many kittens before, much less so many for notable lessons. It didnt make the kittens any better then the others really, but it was something to note of an already odd situation.
Oddities aside the deputy was all too aware of how exhausting the situation must be for the queens with so many to entertain. Soooo how about Crowtooth do his part as a high rank and step in to lighten the load and give them a break? If this little event also taught them some skills and potentially encouraged some more future tunnelers, well that was just an added bonus.
"Oh kittens o' Windclan! Its yer lovely deputy here ta offer ya a special skills lesson an' some fun ta keep ya entertained! Tunnelin' skills, a little lesson about the creatures ya can find in the territory an' how ta handle them, then a small special game fer yall!

Skykit hurried up to the sound of Crowtooth's voice. [OPEN]

Raccoonkit scurried out of the nursery and into the sunlight. She was gonna be really smeat and mom would think she was very cool like her siblings would too. She would be so cool she would catch one million preys at her first hunt.

The one moon old kit turned his head to face the yowling cat from where he was sitting in the clearing. Training? His ear twitched. Did he really need more? Plus he really didn't want to be around too many cats. It was so nice out right now. He wasn't about to throw this morning away by talking to people! He turned his attention back to the leaf he had been watching the wind carry around.
As he watched it scuttle around a thought occurred to him. This cat hung around his mama a lot. Driftingkit had seen them talking in hushed voices around camp or having conversations inside Twilightstar's other den. He peeked over again, to see that two kits were already gathering. But maybe if he spent some time with this scary black-and-white tom, he'd get to know Twilightstar a little better too!
His fluffy dark grey pelt prickled, as he approached the others with cautious quiet steps. Eyes narrowed, and ears alert he slipped in beside the others. He found a nice spot to sit, and tip his head up at Crowtooth. His tail wrapped politely around his paws, as he tried to ignore the fact that there were other cats around him.
Patchkit lifted his head and looked towards the calling of the deputy, at first thinking it was something bad like the fires, his fur fluffing up with fright, before realizing that it was an event. A learning event... OOO, tunneling, that sounded interesting? He thinks, it was a bunch of digging mostly right? Well, he padded over, he was towards the outer ring of the gathering of kittens that have started. Hopefully this is more fun and less arguments than the kitten game he hosted. That made him feel a bit guilty over it all.

Frostkit flicked an ear, letting out a low growl as he was woken up by some crazy loud person who's voice he's swore he's heard before. Though it was the way that some of the other kits were moving and shuffling around to go out and do whatever it is that started. Well, Frostkit didn't want to miss out, what if there was another fire or something? The kitten's eyes moved from the exit of the nursery to the rest of his littermates in the nest. Maybe he should get all of them to go rather than just Strawb and Jagged... how does one wake up so many cats though... that's four whole kits.
He paused a moment, he didn't like making noise, he didn't like the way the words fell from his tongue and he hated the way he sounded... so sound wouldn't work. Well physical violence seems like the next logical pathway to go with this encounter. So Frostkit wiggled out of the nest and took a few paw steps back before running forward, leaping, and aiming to land on as many of his siblings as he could in one landing. Hehehe! Despite his adversion to making sounds, he couldn't help the giggles that pushed out of his chest, though he muffled them as best as he could.
Applepaw "The apple of your eye!"

Applepaw flicked an ear as he finished up the mouse he was munching on just in time for Crowtooth to announce an event about learning digging- err, tunneling, but Applepaw found the idea of digging funner than tunneling- welllll no harm no foul if he came by to just learn some stuff. Wanting to learn new things wasn't badddddddd besides, if she really wasn't allowed to listen in then someone'll just tell her and she'll go find something else to do! Yep that made sense! So she padded right over and settled to listen in on the lesson, excited!
There was little bravado in camp lately, and perhaps one might be grateful for that. With the recent issue of the fires passed, one she had heard more of than witnessed, the kitten found there was little else to worry about other than the hunger in her belly, the weariness of her mind, and her trouble telling left from right. Not to sound silly, but it all seemed the same, and it was difficult to tell where anything was with all this constant noise around weird smells she didn't know was associated to what.
Perhaps she simply hadn't done enough exploring of camp, and whenever any worried queen looked away for a split second, off the fluffy lithe kitten was in some unplanned direction to try and find... Well, direction. And today, as she scrambled out of the nursery with minute trouble, it was the sound of a raspy, strange voice that reach the drum of her wispy-furred ears and picked the interest of the usually demure-seemint child.
Lessons, a game ... So far she has had little luck with games, to no fault of her own! Mind you, none ever thought to invite her, and when Rainkit invited her and herself, trouble had to arise. Besides, she had heard of these lessons some of the queens offered... Crowtooth didn't call himself a queen, but at the present any poor soul would do. If she learned how to fight off predators, then maybe she could fight off meanies like Moorkit -- Coyotekit had calmed down as of recent, but he wasn't on her nice list yet.
She approached, deciding to follow to sound of his voice, or rather, the oddly enticing sound he was making with his voice; she walked in a zig-zaggy line with no idea of where to stop because, of course, he had to silence eventually, figuratively leaving the kitten entirely in the dark. Her already sloppy line turned confusing, and frankly she wouldn't be able to tell how she walked except for the moment her face and chest collided with another fully body, not much bigger than her own from what it felt like. In response, Coldkit took a single step back and stood in place. She had arrived somewhere, and she hoped it was the correct somewhere.
Leopardkit They/she // Kit // Windclan // 4 moons

Leopardkit was quick to respond to the sound of upcoming lessons; standing up and taking one moment to let out a big stretch and a yawn. She waddles out from her nest, making her way to where Crowtooth was present.
EGRETKIT she/her . 3 moons . dark brown and lilac tabby with dappling with cream markings and blue eyes
[ sticky pads ]
egretkit is barreling out of the nursery as soon as she hears her uncle calling for all the kittens. which, she would've ran out either way, whether he was calling for itty bitty babies or big cats. solely because crowtooth was her uncle and he usually had awesome gifts, like that huge ol' pheasan-nant! he also made a pretty comfy pillow, something him and papa had in common.
running as fast as her legs can carry her, she sorely overestimates her speed and trips. straight up face plants into the ground. "I'm okay!" she squeaks out as she jumps up, after a second or so. then she's right back to approaching the already forming group of kittens, and one apprentice.
this time, she spots no gifts. but that's alright! by the sounds of it, he's going to teach them all some skills like tunneling. she'll be the first to admit she doesn't really know what that is, but she thinks it's when you scratch at the ground and somehow the dirt all goes away. learning how to handle the creatures in the territory sounded real important, especially since she promised miss twillystar she'd keep the prey pile full as an apprentice!

Driftingkit felt a sudden small thump on his back, and turned around with a lurch. Surprise coated his mind, the last thing he expected was to be bumped into while he was sitting down. Behind him he found only the shape of a very disoriented looking Coldkit. Relief made his pelt lie flat. How did I not smell her coming? He tipped his head at her, expecting her to say something. The silence lead him slowly to the realization that his littlest sister probably hadn't bumped into him on purpose. Come to think of it had he ever seen her out of the den during the day? He stood up and turned around with a tail flick that ended up tapping the edge of her ear. He was half-playing, half-letting her know he was there. "Hi Coldkit. Did you want to team up so we can win the special game together?" He said it in a matter-of-fact tone without excitement but not lacking warmth. He didn't care about winning, he was here for information. Maybe Coldkit had come here to help him on his secret mission! He grinned.
Driftingkit leaned in close to one of her ears. No cat needed to know what they were up to this was tippy top secret! "That tom with the weird voice, he hangs around mom a lot. I say we get close to him and try to learn more about her," He whispered looking around for potential spies, "But we have to be secret! Don't let him find out, ok? Are you in?" His amber eyes glinted with excitement at the thought of this plot. And now he, probably, had a recruit! They were going to learn so much Twilightstar wasn't ready for it! Even if he hadn't figured out what exactly they were going to be looking for yet.
Whistlekit was always up for lessons. Why not? It sounds fun. She scurries over and sits down, dragging her brother behind her. Sedgekit is more reserved, and quietly sits next to his sister, observing the deputy responsible for the lesson curiously.
"Hi, Skykit!" Whistlekit meows, noticing a familiar face. "You're here to learn from Crowtooth too? Are you any good at...tunneling?"
