The brown kit stopped in her tracks, gazing up at the two cats who were curiously looking at her. Her snout covered in dirt as dust fell from her nose. She sneezed a bit, attempting to rid herself of the dirt she had sniffed in.
"Yuh huh, I'm very excited! I've been practicing sooo much!" She mewed, before turning to the younger kit to answer his question.
"I've been sniffing out different cats in camp all day!" She sat up, chest puffed out with pride. "I've gotten so good at it!"

Saltcloud looked out through the pine forest, his pelt prickling with unease. He always found the darkness comforting growing up but now the darkness felt almost stifling with the unknown of what, or rather, who, was out there. Ever since Sorrel left to be with that rouge he had felt as though something or someone was watching him through the darkness, though that was silly surely, Sorrel had found someone new there was no need for him anymore.
Saltcloud's claws unsheathed and dug into the ground as fresh anger and hurt coursed through him and he gritted his teeth, biting back the urge to yowl out his pain, not wanting to scare the prey or draw attention to himself. He felt so alone now and he couldn't help but wonder if it'd ever change. He knew he wasn't close to anyone else in the clan anymore, he had never really tried, maybe this was his own fault.
Saltcloud finally shook his head to clear his thoughts, sheathing his claws back and pulling his eyes away from the darkness in the area beyond the territory, looking up and letting out a breath. "I'll just... hunt until I forget," He mumbled to himself.
Moonstep
———————————————
On the contrary to Saltcloud’s uneased watching of the forest, Moonstep had been trotting along the Shadowclan clearing quite confidently, unaware as to anything that may be.. unsettling. Each step he took was as light as a feather — or, at least, that’s how he liked to imagine himself. He has to look good for the other cats!
Amidts the many scents and smells from the many Shadowclan cats, one in particular managed to capture his attention. Familiar with his clan, this cat in the distance was no mystery. Saltcloud!
Moonstep subconsciously smiles, making his way over to the other feline in the clearing without much consideration. Saltcloud was very peculiar to him, and goodness, not in a bad way! Oddly secretive, quiet… Was it bad for Moonstep to want to know more?
Ears perking up as he appears from behind the closest bush, Moonstep wasted no time in trying to grab the other cat’s attention. Still, he made sure to keep SOME form of volume where he wouldn’t be actively disrupting any other clansmates.
“Saltcloud! Hey-hey! Fancy seeing you here!”
It was, in fact, not very fancy seeing him here. This was arguably the most general location of Shadowclan, afterall. Still, Moonstep’s grin persists; emphasizing on that please warm up to me and tell me your secrets, secret man! concept he has in mind.

Saltcloud's whipped around, the fluff around his neck bristling as his name was called. Upon seeing his clanmate, Moonstep, his fur began to lay flat. He sat down, licking his paw to hide his embarrassment from being so startled. He remembered Moonstep, they had been apprentices for a short while together before the older tom-cat had gotten his warrior name.
"Hello," Saltcloud began, slowly. His eyes narrowed the tiniest of bits as he looked at them, wondering why they had approached him. "It's not really a surprise," He finally continued, his tail flicking. "That we're both in camp."
His pelt burned under the eager eye of the dark tom, the piercing blue eyes seemed to stare right inside him and he gave himself a shake, brief anxiety shooting through himself.Do I have something stuck on me? Saltcloud found himself wondering, and in response to that thought he licked his paw again, this time drawing it over his ear and then face.

Moonstep

Moonstep’s ear flickered as he casually sat down beside Saltcloud, although he made sure to keep a distance for the other cat’s comfort. This was followed by scrutinizing as much as Moonstep could with this cat’s demeanor and behaviors. Moonstep had always gone out of his way to be the observant type; but with Saltcloud, he found the cat quite difficult to read. Perhaps that’s just motivation to keep talking.
“Haha, I know, I’m just playing,” he remarks, tail slowly moving left and right behind him. “How have you been doing? You’re always staring off into space; I can’t help but wonder what you’re thinking about.”
Moonstep raises one paw as he speaks, placing it back down to the grass as he continues. “Especially since this whole lockdown… Hm.”
Eye contact is lost with the other feline momentarily as Moonstep stares off into the forest as well, fur as still as possible.

The tom was sit quietly in the the clans camp. The cold air hits his fur and he shivers, as he breathes in he relaxes, thinking about his whole life and purpose. "May the cats of this clan be protected during leafbare." He mumbled to himself but for Starclan to hear.

The tom sat in the ditch waiting for an answer from Starclan. "Silverpelt is quiet, maybe being a kittypet was a bad idea."The tom lied down falling asleep.
Venomkit fidgeted restlessly as Rookfire started the story. Ok so, Riverclan, fadingsomething bad, Duskthing trouble! Got it! She did her best to absorb all the information she could...well the key parts anyways. Riverclan...it sounded familiar, wjere had she heard it? Oh wait, Mammy didn't like those ones 'cause they were silly! Silly fishies! If Dawnstar didn't like them then they weren't worth respect!
Amber green orbs widened at the part where Duskthing killed the Windyclan deputy. Woah, Duskthing committed murder...and didn't even get away with it?! What a loser! She obviously wasn't very smart. The toygress' ears perked at the mention of her Mammy and two unimportant cats. They weren't as cool as her Mammy so they weren't worth remembering!
Oooh a part about her Mammy again! And Rookfire got to go to the fight?! No fair! Why didn't she get to go...?! Wait she wasn't born yet- the braided tabby tilted her head inquisitively as the medic mentioned something about proving loyalty. "Weren't you loyal before" She asked with lighthearted skeptism. She thought all Shadowclanners were loyal, did Rookfire do something bad?

Saltcloud tensed as Moonstep sat next to him, though relaxed when he realized that the other had deliberately sat farther away from him. His fur continued to burn as Moonstep watched him, and he tried to make himself meet his gaze, staring inquiringly at him.
"I'm... doing okay," He said softly, it wasn't really a lie, he was doing okay considering all thats happening. He was learning, slowly, to deal with the pain from Sorrel leaving him, though the lockdown was definitely making it worse. "The lockdown sucks."
He felt himself relax further as Moonstep finally looked away but for some reason Saltcloud couldn't bring himself to look away from him.

“Agree. There’s only so much I can do here; I’d much rather go out and hunt for something good.”
The thought of eating a rabbit of sorts made him quite hungry… But Moonstep can’t help it. Food is just too grand of a thing in this world.
“It should be over soon, at least. Hopefully.” He shrugs.
The feline’s staring in the distance finally comes to a stop, looking back at Saltcloud to find that the fellow cat had been staring. In response, he smiles warmly; their swaying tail coming back to a stop.
Saltcloud’s hypothetical burning fur was something Moonstep couldn’t quite leave alone — not in his mind, at least. The silver fur mixed with spots of a cream coloring over the upper half of his body; tipped with darkness at the very end of his tail. It’s certainly not a design he’ll forget— and yes, that’s a compliment.
After a short moment of silence, Moonstep clears his throat, staring back down at the ground beneath him. His thoughts were an enigma to those who could not read minds, but truth is, he’s just trying to come up with what to say next.

Saltcloud sighed, nodding. "I'd rather go and hunt as well. It feels wrong to stay stuck in camp, like I'm an apprentice in trouble all over again."
His eyes met Moonsteps again and when he smiled, Saltcloud offered up a small smile in return. He wasn't quite sure still why Moonstep was being so friendly but after being so lonely... he couldn't turn it down, besides Moonstep was his clanmate and it was rude to ignore.
Then when Moonstep cleared his throat and looked away, Saltcloud was filled with the urge to fill the silence that was suddenly between them. "So... Why'd you come over here?" He dropped his own gaze, almost afraid of what the answer would be.

Moonstep hadn’t actually expected Saltcloud to fill the silence up so quickly; feeling even a little caught off guard by this, to an extent. Perhaps he just didn’t know this feline as well as he thought he did. And, you know what? They’d say that’s a great thing - and for multiple reasons. With every second of this conversation, Moonstep was only growing more and more intrigued with his clanmate’s story.
“Well,” he begins, licking his paw and rubbing it across the grey-er half of his face. “I always see you zoning out, off on your own… As of recent, at least. I could have sworn I’ve seen you with another cat all the time, a while ago...” Moonstep trails off momentarily, thinking to himself about it. He shakes his head, continuing. “We’ve known each other for a while! Albeit, vaguely. I just thought it’d be neat to talk to you, y’know? Might as well be sure my clanmates are okay.”
Moonstep curls his tail around his own legs, staring back off again.
“We’re all together in this lockdown, anyway. No better time to chat.”
