"Well aside from being in charge and leading, leaders are the ones who make all the tough decisions. Clanmates may speak their mind, but at the end of the day its the leader's job to make the final call. For example, let's say ThunderClan and ShadowClan have stolen chunks of WindClan's territory during a harsh leafbare. WindClan is starving and we need those hunting grounds, do I send out cats to fight ShadowClan and ThunderClan? Should I wait and try and hang on till newleaf, do I send cats to the outskirts? We can fight, and maybe we win, but how many warriors did I lose, how many more are injured, do we have enough herbs to heal the injured, do I have enough uninjured cats to hunt?" Twilightstar yawned while resting her chin on her front paw. She waved her tail lazily, inviting the kit to sit with her.
"Things like that weigh heavily on my mind with every decision I make. Unlike regular warriors, the whole of WindClan follows me and my decisions. It's my job to guide and care for all of you. Do I send my cats to fight or do I suck up my pride, bow my head, and save a few lives? When someone is bad, what should their punishment be, and how long should it be for, or do I exile or execute? Being a leader, you must think beyond what's best for yourself and decide what is best for your clan. It's a lot of responsibility, but can be greatly rewarding as well." Twilightstar loved her clan, but boy was being a leader draining. She didn't even get into the nine lives and the potential to outlive your loved ones and friends.
"My scars are from battles, lot and lots of battles. I've lived through more than most and it's taken a toll on my body. I tend to forget how scary I can look to little ones like you." She trilled gently.
Once the nest was completed, missingbits star- uh twighlightstar climbed into it and sat down. Gesturing with her tail she invited him to join her and who was he to turn down an invitation. Especially when he was getting exactly what he wanted, answers to his questions. They weren't even short quick answers like some cats did, he knew that they responded like that to make him leave but miss twistar wasn't doing that. She was providing with long satisfying answers. He liked that! Maybe she wasn't as scary as he had thought before.
Climbing into the nest, he sat down next the leader. Tucking his paws beneath him, he looked back up at her as he listened attentively to her answer.
From what he gathered maybe being a leader wasn't that fun, it sure didn't sound fun. Too much responsibility. It just made it certain to him that he would never be a leader, never ever. " 'Guess my sister won't be a very good leader then? She ain't very responsible and I don't think Card cares for anyone other than seedkit and maybe Straws." he commented after Twighlightstar had finished explaining. If cardinalkit ever became leader it might just be the end of windclan.
"also, what thunderclan and what's shadowclan? Also are they the ones who gave you your scars? Do they hurt." he didn't want to bother the leader to much, this might just be his last batch of questions. What twighlightstar told him about leaders made him believe she must be very busy and even though she was extremely busy she was still here sparring jaggedkit sometime to answer his questions. He appreciated that.
The grin immediately returned to the little tom's face when his mother greeted him. He purred, eyes bright. Orchidkit glanced over at Coyotekit. Maybe he'd try being nice to the thing for once. He flashed him the same comfortable grin. Oh, ew. Yeah..never again. Well. Maybe, it wasn't that bad to smile the The Thing™ once in a while. Orchidkit focused his attention back on Mama. He let out an indignant sqeak as his mother showered him with licks, though he made no attempt to stop it. "Of course I'm being good!" He chriped, choosing to ignore the latter question. It was nice enough. He purred at his mother, blinking briefly when she put her nose to his cheek and gave him a curious look. He gave her a curious look right back, as he was trying to figure out what the look was about. No matter. Time for the important question. He snuggled closer to his mother, getting comfortable before opening his mouth to speak once more. "When are me and my littermates gonna be apprentices? I wanna train to be a big strong warrior!" Orchidkit questioned, looking up at his mother with round eyes.
